Overall this is a good laptop. I installed Mint Linux on it and it runs superfast, boots up in 7 seconds. I can play videos and I dont have a loud fan turn on. I have two issues with it that others might not. One is that the keyboard makes an audible sound when typing, I want a keyboard that is completely silent. The other issue is that lid/screen hinge rotates so that it is below the bottom surface of the laptop. This makes an uncomfortable ridge that hurts my thighs when its on my lap. This means I have to use some kind of 'lap desk' to rest the laptop on. This is a problem with a lot of laptops made by many brands, it bothers me, it might not bother you. One thing I do like is that it is thin, light weight yet feels very stiff and strong.

Perfect in everything except not having touch screen

Consistent product, my 4th HP computer and 2nd laptop. I am disappointed in only a couple of things. Not enough USB ports and no disc drive anymore. You also could have kept the power cable on the left side.

Nice 17" screen, easy to set up and excellent value. Very quick compared to the old windows10 pc. My wife will be using this with her embroidery machine in addition to internet access. The only negative is a lack of an ethernet port which she uses to communicate with her machines. However, this is easily corrected with a usb-c to ethernet adapter.

Very good product for at home use.

I wanted the large screen and a touch screen was an important feature for me so I was very disappointed when despite it saying yes to touch screen in specs it is, in fact, not a touch screen. Had my son not needed it to start college I would have returned

easy to work with.As a senior computers totally confuses me.This unit is easy and just what I needed.

I just picked up this new laptop after returning another one yesterday that kept freezing up on me. I diligently searched for an HP laptop that was a touchscreen as well as backlit keyboard. The specifications of this laptop say it is a touchscreen. Unless I got a defective one, this is NOT a touchscreen. Now, I have to take this one back and downgrade to a 15.6" model that is a touchscreen with a backlit keyboard. Two things that are a must have for me!
