After much research just got the generator today. The transfer switch isn't installed yet so I haven't used it but I am looking forward to backup power for my whole house. The tri-fuel options are great and for me, this unit seems like a better option than a standby unit, all things considered.

Remote start is great

Only giving 3 stars because I just un-boxed and ran it for the 5hr break in time today. Started well with the remote start. Runs well with LP. Hope it starts as easily and runs as well when a hurricane knocks my power out. Will write another review once it gets used for intended purpose

Solid as a rock.

I purchased this generator after doing some extensive online research and it seems that the Westinghouse generator I was interested in won "hands down". I set it up as per the explicit instructions that were included and it started right up. It came with a key fob which also works flawlessly as does the generator. My electrician is coming to install an interlock on my circuit breaker panel which will enable me to start the generator from indoors and power up my entire home. Westinghouse has been in business for many years, is a household name and they build a quality product. Wgen10500tfc is the one to buy if you are undecided, you will be very happy with it!!!

All the bells and whistles

The Westinghouse WGen10500TFc Tri-Fuel Generator is a powerhouse that's built to make life easier when the lights go out. Assembly out of the box was easy and straight forward. I am using mine to power my house with natural gas which allows me to never have to worry about fuel. Cant say enough about this purchase.

Power - YES!

I just set up the generator yesterday and everything is working including a connection to my home electrical sub-panel. I used gasoline for the test run and will be installing a natural gas line next. We experience power outages in our area about twice each year usually lasting a day or two. During the last big freeze however power was out for ten days. We're looking forward to having a dependable backup system.

So beautiful and easy yo use!

I bought this generator to run my home when the power goes out. When it got here, I thought it was going to be so hard for me to use it. I am an average size woman in my late 50s. After I had it put together, I looked at the handle and was able to easily move the 231 pounds of generator. I'm very excited about that! I'm having my electrician install line so I can plug right into my home. This generator is going to be a wonderful asset to my home.

Dual fuel is awesome

I recently got the Westinghouse WGen10500TFc Portable Generator, and honestly, this thing is an absolute beast. From the moment I fired it up, you can tell it's built for serious power and reliability. First off, the dual fuel capability is a huge win. Being able to switch between gas and propane gives you flexibility, especially during emergencies when fuel options can get limited. It starts up smoothly every time, and the electric start makes it super convenient—no struggling with pull cords. Power-wise, it handles everything I throw at it. I've run multiple appliances, tools, and even larger equipment without any drop in performance. It's perfect for home backup during outages or job site use if you need something dependable. The build quality feels solid and durable. The frame is sturdy, the wheels make it easy to move around despite its size, and the control panel is straightforward—no guessing what goes where. Another thing I appreciate is how well it's packaged with clear instructions. Setup was simple, even if you're not super experienced with generators. If I had to nitpick, it's not the quietest machine—but that's expected for something this powerful. And honestly, the performance more than makes up for it. Overall, if you're looking for a reliable, high-output generator that can handle real-world demands, this one delivers big time. Definitely worth the investment for peace of mind and serious power when you need it most.

My first generator, so not the voice of experience. Worked well overall with transfer switch during our only power outage so far, about 8 hours. However, the 6 UPS's, mostly cheaper but a couple higher quality, scattered throughout the house did not like the power supplied. Continuous beeping (i.e. using battery backup), the annoyance I did not sit through to find out if they would ultimately fail. (I powered off all devices and the UPS's themselves.) While that was pretty disappointing, it kept the lights on, refrigerators running, etc. Have only used gasoline thus far.

Generator hook up and start up

I bought this about a month ago. The set up was easy to follow, I hooked up the generator to natural gas line and it took a couple tries to start up. I think it was just the air in the line gas line. Once it cleared up it started right up and powered the whole house with no issues. The only problem was getting central air to work over a 30AMP circuit connection from the generator. I will need to upgrade the home hookup to 50AMP service to support initial startup for central air which requires 40AMP for start up.

Loud and proud

We just bought and had an electrician set up a switch for us. Since we have a gas line in our backyard, the TriFuel model was recommended. We live in a 1,500 SF home and - when tested on that gas - the generator seemed stout enough to run our entire home. Full disclosure: we have not had to use it to the fullest extent (for more than the time to test) as we haven't encountered a power outage yet. The true test will come when a storm leaves us without for a day or two. The reason for the 4 star vs the 5 star is because as strong and might as this machine seems, I do wish there was a way to muffle the sound a bit. We have neighbors that may care how audible it is - hopefully we can pacify any disturbance they have with the offer of coming over and “riding out the storm” with us.
