I bought this earlier today and did the initial rinse of make a pot of hot water and a cup of hot water. The carafe filled nicely. There were no issues and nothing was in the water so "good to go". The single cup did not go as well. I did the first cup of water and noticed many (8-12) silver flakes floating in the water. Did it again and saw a couple and thought it was OK for coffee. Made a cup of coffee and this made the little silver flakes stand out as there were still 8-12. 10 cups of hot water later and still seeing them in the cup with some floating and others at the bottom. Switched to water from sink instead of the filtered water from the frig and had the same results. I'm done. Boxing it up and taking it back. I figure that back during assembly, someone missed cleaning it out so there are little shavings of metal still inside. Ouch.

This thing practically explodes K-cups and spits the grounds all over the counter. There is also no option if you make a pot of coffee and then do say a single k-cup of tea the burner on the pot turns off and no way to turn it back on to keep the pot cool. Not worth the price paid for such poor features. I reached out to support and they want me to pay to return it to them to get a replacement. Maybe its my Amazon mentality but its not fair to me to pay more for something defective. They also recommend an almost complete cleaning after EVERY USE. Especially the K-cup as their needle gets clogged all the time.

When I purchased this item I also checked to see about the warranty of this product. Item on description listed that the coffee maker had a one year limited warranty. I purchased this coffee maker in September of 2024 and also purchased a 4 year extended warranty. In May 2025 (this month) I happened to notice the halo rim around the heating plate was cracked. My son and I are the only one who drinks coffee, I also noticed the coffee pot did not fill up to 10 cups. I tried to return it to Sam's for an exchange, but was told Sam only has a 90 day return/exchange/refund. If it is only 90 days why does in the description say 1 year warranty?

The first 2 k cup brews I did, with Members Mark Donut Shot K Cups, I found that this machine is picky about what k cups can be used. It stoped half way through the brew and explode coffee grounds out the lid. I tried a few times thinking it was a fluke but wasnt. I tried McCafe cups and some great value brand and it worked fine. I am disappointed that I cant use Members Mark k cups when I bought the machine from Sams. It is a slow brew and you have to fill the resevor each time. I can get over that but I am concerned about buying a new brand of k cups and the machine not working with them. It would probably be fine for anyone that does not use k cups but just ground coffee.
