Exactly as described

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Only a few weeks old but very happy to have this laundry center. It’s going to make our small laundry room much more functional than with side by side units and we love the melodies played to alert when cycles are completed.

Awesome Machine!!!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It’s been 16 months and I am surprised how awesome this machine is. Water efficiency is amazing, my water bill actually went down. I was skeptical of how clean my clothes got with so little water in the tub, but they come out fresh and clean. With many downloadable wash cycles to choose from this baby is awesome. Easy to use an easy on the eyes when I get my utility bills. I don’t give it a 5 star rating cause it can’t unload, fold and iron my clothes. Lol

Convenience

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this 3 weeks ago to replace conventional washer and (old)dryer and am so glad I did. Easy to use and I believe I will be saving $ on electric bill, old dryer needed 2 cycles to dry anything and controls are easy to use.

Used once so far and a little concerned

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had a brand new LQ Washtower WKE100HVA installed recently and finally had the opportunity to use it. I had connected it to the app, and such, and everything looked good, but just recently ran the first load. The myriad of settings was interesting but a bit daunting, but I got it going anyway.  I put the clothes in the dryer and fired it up, and the UNIT was running fine.  I wanted to make some changes to the settings, but once its going, that's  not really an option...ok, no problem.   I fired up the app to see how things were going, and the app said the dryer was off...???  I'm standing there looking at it running. I started a chat with a rep, and he said that's a problem (no kidding), and I needed to delete the app, redownload it and reload the  wash tower into the app.  Kind of a Microsoft style forklift upgrade, but ok.   Waited until the dryer was finished, and then did that.  Less than fun, but it worked...ok, good to go....I thought. I was messing with settings on the app, and I had the washer door open to air out and dry as it was still wet inside,  and the app attempted to start the washer (my fault) and then errored.  It said 'door open'...which was correct.  So I closed  the door, and the error code on the machine went away. The next day I opened the app, and it had an error on the screen...said washer door was open.  It wasn't.  The error message was no longer displayed on the unit, but the app refused to clear.  I tried for a few minutes, but nope.  The unit was fine, but the app was stuck with the error. I deleted the washtower from the app and re-added it.  Same error. This was getting annoying. Again, I've only used the system ONE TIME. Since nothing would clear the error, I reached around behind it and pulled the 220v plug. Much like Microsoft, a hard reset cleared the error.  Really, LG?  So now, both washer and dryer show up in the app. Both units physically seem ok, but brand new equipment shouldn't have these errors. On the use side...the washer had quite a bit of water still inside, so it would be nice if it had a method to clear the water better, but leaving the door open for awhile isn't much different than what I've done with other manufacturer's units.  There was wet lint caught on the outside of the boot next to the door that needed cleaned, and the dryer lint screen has two tiny windows in the corners that aren't so easy to clear the lint from.   This is kind of a poor design, I think.  A single screened window would be simpler to clean, maybe not as stylish, but more functional.  We'll see how things go as I used the unit more, but these right out the gate issues give me a bit of concern. The full range of features LOOK cool, but I'll need to see how it performs to know more.   For now, it's 4 stars for look, feel and features, and one star off for kludgy functional issues on first use.

Great Features

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Washes and drys very well. One issue is the difficulty in connecting WiFi and remote features. The owners manual gives very little detail on these features. Had to go to internet for instructions and call your help line.

Full size and efficient

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Full size washer and dryer stacked to save space. I found other stackables to be smaller - this is full size which is awesome! It also gets clothes super clean. Stains that had been set in for months came out the first time I washed them in this. Our water bill also decreased and we've been watering flowers more in the summer heat, so I can only assume this is a big part of it! So far, I'm thrilled! The only things that drives me crazy is having to wipe the rubber around the washer drawer to remove excess moisture and that I can't figure out how to download the waterproof cycle to wash mattress pads and bath mats with rubber backing - the app leaves A LOT to be desired.

Well Made But Disappointing

This is our third LG laundry set. The first stayed with a house we sold and is still running. The second was about five years old and ran flawlessly. We sold that set to buy the stack model for aesthetic reasons. We would have bought the full featured model but needed the Graphite Steel color to match the refrigerator that it sits beside. I like everything about this unit except the dryer selections are extremely limited. Temperature and dryness settings are fixed in most modes. You can cook your clothes on high heat, run at medium heat on a cycle that runs long after the clothes are dry or repeat a shorter cycle because you cannot adjust dryness. LG deliberately handicapped this dryer to justify a higher cost for the next model up. Compared to the higher model, this unit has a lower grade tub material and no dryer steam function. I don't know why LG found it necessary to turn off the selection buttons. The unit is well made but I kind of hate it.

Even better then I hoped for

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I spent quite a bit of time researching the different makes and models of washer/dryer combos for my apartment. The washtower hit all the boxes of what I wanted. It is even quieter then I had hoped for. I am very impressed and happy with my purchase.

Space Saving and Exceeds Expectations

We are absolutely enjoying our new stacked front-loading washer and dryer. There are multi-options that meet and exceed our needs. From our delicates to our farming clothes, these units give us all that we need. I LOVE how much our laundry room opened up by having this stacked unit. We now have the space to add a counter for folding and additional cabinetry.

Okay but needs some software upgrades

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love it and hate it. The combined tower is a nice space saver in an apartment, previous units barely fit when stacked. Washes clothes as expected, rinses better than my previous washer, app is okay but my partner hates it…because a lot of the presets require the app (some delicate or handwash option), but you are still required to interact on the actual washer and dryer (so clothes in washer, pull out phone, select downloaded on washer, start on washer). I believe you can enable starting the washer/dryer on the app but then you completely disable the ability to start on the washer, it’s crazy they can’t give you the option. The 2 biggest issues are the rinse and spin, and the inability to just add more time to the dryer. If you need to rinse and spin, you have to use the app, and you can’t select the temperature. It won’t do cold rinses, only medium/cool and there are no guides or documentation discussing water temperature for the unit. Cold is required for a lot of clothes. Also, never had a dryer where you can’t add more or less time, not a big deal but there are just so many basics missing, and the app falls short on providing them properly. A lot of this can be fixed in

reply from LG Digital Care Team

Hello there! Thank you for your honest review of the ThinQ experience with your LG WashTower. We're always looking for ways to improve ThinQ's versatility and customization to help our cherished customers choose the experience that best suits their needs. We'll be sure to pass this info along to the team! When it comes to adding more time to your dry cycle, selecting More or Very under Dry Level will increase the cycle time. Alternatively, the Time Dry option can be adjusted from 20 to 60 minutes. The additional option of More Time/Less Time increases or decreases drying time in 5-minute increments when using the Time Dry function or Wrinkle Care, which will tumble the load periodically for up to 3 hours after the selected cycle. The beauty of ThinQ is that this can be done straight from your phone! No need to stop what you're doing to tend to laundry chores. You can either start another dry cycle or add more time using the More Time/Less Time function. As for the water temperature of rinses, all rinses use unheated cold water. The actual cold rinse temperature depends on the temperature of the cold water at the faucet. If you still need help or have questions about your LG WashTower, get in touch with us on social media @LGUSSupport with your model number. We'll be happy to help! *Joseph
