Customer reviews for LG 4.5 cu. ft. Front Load WashTower with 7.4 cu. ft. Electric Dryer forDesign flaw - soap in control panel
I had to get the computer panel replaced due to soap getting into the panel. I believe this is a design flaw since we pull the drawer our to put soap in it, then close the drawer. How does soap get into the control panel? I had to pay to replace it, the tech will have to come out for a third time because he couldn't get the right part. Pretty frustrated since this is a 2 year old machine.
Thank you for sharing your experience and feedback regarding the issue with the computer panel on your LG WKE100HVA. Your feedback has raised a valid concern about the design of the soap dispenser and its proximity to the control panel. We take such issues seriously, as they can impact our products' overall user experience and longevity. If there's anything we can do to rectify this for you, please send us a private message on our social media team at @LGUSSupport. -Ken
Can’t choose your own temperature setting on dryer
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The washer and dryer work fine. The problem is that on the dryer, all of the temperature and other settings are preset and can’t be changed. 99% of the time I dry my clothes on low temperature. There is no setting for low temperature drying other than timed dry without downloading from the app. The app looses connection to my wifi on a regular basis. Nothing else in my house looses internet connection. On laundry day, it is common for me to have to delete the appliance from the app and reload it. Further, this is a vacation home and our adult children vacation here too. So that means they have to download the app if they want to choose their own settings. I find it very frustrating that I can’t just change the settings to my preference. The suggested dryer setting for all of my clothes is low so it blows my mind that low temperature drying is not a regular setting. Every single time I do laundry, I lament out load- I hate this machine!

So Far So Good
We chose this unit specifically to fit a space where a linen cabinet used to be. We wanted a stackable unit, and was particularly attracted to this unit because of it's compact size, and controls located in the center of the unit. After installation we ran a few loads and in the washer's spin cycle the unit vibrated horribly and nearly danced out of it's space. Turns out the installer only removed 2 of the 4 shipping bolts that hold the washer drum in place during shipping. After removing the remaining 2, the unit is very steady during the spin cycle. Make sure the installation instructions are followed for removing the shipping bolts.
Even better then I hoped for
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I spent quite a bit of time researching the different makes and models of washer/dryer combos for my apartment. The washtower hit all the boxes of what I wanted. It is even quieter then I had hoped for. I am very impressed and happy with my purchase.
Full size and efficient
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Full size washer and dryer stacked to save space. I found other stackables to be smaller - this is full size which is awesome! It also gets clothes super clean. Stains that had been set in for months came out the first time I washed them in this. Our water bill also decreased and we've been watering flowers more in the summer heat, so I can only assume this is a big part of it! So far, I'm thrilled! The only things that drives me crazy is having to wipe the rubber around the washer drawer to remove excess moisture and that I can't figure out how to download the waterproof cycle to wash mattress pads and bath mats with rubber backing - the app leaves A LOT to be desired.
Stop the vibration!
I was so excited to get my new LG Wash Tower installed and begin using. What a disappointment! It’s absolutely the loudest washer I’ve ever used. Additionally, the spin cycle vibrates so bad that the unit moves from the wall and disconnects the dryer exhaust and jars the dryer door open. Is there anything we can do to stabilize the unit during the spin cycle? The unit fits perfectly in the space with a few inches on either side and sits on a tile floor.
Hey there! Nothing beats the tranquility of laundry time with your LG WashTower, especially when that charming aroma fills the room. We'd want nothing more for you to be able to experience this. We have this helpful guide here: http://spr.ly/6420oGvY0, which will provide troubleshooting steps to help with the vibration. If these steps do not work, please private message us on social media @LGUSSupport with your contact information. We'd be happy to help! ^Joslyn
All-In-One, so many features.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We have been using the washer/dryer tower for about 2 months now. I love that it's energy efficient and quite! I really enjoy having the app. on my phone to alert me when cycles are finished or when it's time to clean the wash tub. It has taken the guess work out of laundry. The touch screen does take a little bit to get used to, I did read the manual but I find that I will still go back to it to figure out how to use different options. Otherwise, there are the main functions on the touch screen, I find it very convenient.
Laundry is enjoyable!
I recently bought this laundry tower to replace and old clunky laundry that I unherited when I moved into a condo. This unit fit perfectly into the closet and cleans perfectly and quickly. The app feature is great so you know when your cycle is coming to an end...just need to figure out how to lower the volume on the chime when the wash/dry cycle ends.
Exactly as described
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Only a few weeks old but very happy to have this laundry center. It’s going to make our small laundry room much more functional than with side by side units and we love the melodies played to alert when cycles are completed.
Okay but needs some software upgrades
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love it and hate it. The combined tower is a nice space saver in an apartment, previous units barely fit when stacked. Washes clothes as expected, rinses better than my previous washer, app is okay but my partner hates it…because a lot of the presets require the app (some delicate or handwash option), but you are still required to interact on the actual washer and dryer (so clothes in washer, pull out phone, select downloaded on washer, start on washer). I believe you can enable starting the washer/dryer on the app but then you completely disable the ability to start on the washer, it’s crazy they can’t give you the option. The 2 biggest issues are the rinse and spin, and the inability to just add more time to the dryer. If you need to rinse and spin, you have to use the app, and you can’t select the temperature. It won’t do cold rinses, only medium/cool and there are no guides or documentation discussing water temperature for the unit. Cold is required for a lot of clothes. Also, never had a dryer where you can’t add more or less time, not a big deal but there are just so many basics missing, and the app falls short on providing them properly. A lot of this can be fixed in
Hello there! Thank you for your honest review of the ThinQ experience with your LG WashTower. We're always looking for ways to improve ThinQ's versatility and customization to help our cherished customers choose the experience that best suits their needs. We'll be sure to pass this info along to the team! When it comes to adding more time to your dry cycle, selecting More or Very under Dry Level will increase the cycle time. Alternatively, the Time Dry option can be adjusted from 20 to 60 minutes. The additional option of More Time/Less Time increases or decreases drying time in 5-minute increments when using the Time Dry function or Wrinkle Care, which will tumble the load periodically for up to 3 hours after the selected cycle. The beauty of ThinQ is that this can be done straight from your phone! No need to stop what you're doing to tend to laundry chores. You can either start another dry cycle or add more time using the More Time/Less Time function. As for the water temperature of rinses, all rinses use unheated cold water. The actual cold rinse temperature depends on the temperature of the cold water at the faucet.
