Customer reviews for LG 4.5 cu. ft. Front Load WashTower with 7.4 cu. ft. Electric Dryer forThis should be a 5 star
This washer-dryer combo is great. It is quiet and easy to use and is very convenient, so why the 3 star? It does not come with all of the features that it has on it's console. For example, I want air dry. Air dry does not come pre-loaded you have to hook the unit up to wifi and download the feature. Easy enough right? Wrong. The app that you load on your phone to download the feature is not compatible with faster networks! Yes, you have to have a slow network in order to download the feature to the unit!
We hate to hear this and will be happy to pass this along to our product developers.^Sandy
Non-reversible doors
Overall I like this product, however after I installed the system I found that the doors are NOT reversible. The hinge is on the left so it causes problems in tight spaces. I never thought to ask since every washer/dryer I’ve ever bought has had reversible doors. Beware if this is important to you.
Performs well
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] So far it has performed well and is very quiet. However, I'm disappointed that it doesn't have a "no heat" option which I used often to rid dog hair off things before I washed them. Also unable to adjust temperature and spin on some wash cycles.
Making Laundry Fun!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We bought the WashTower last month and we like it. It washes and dries well, and the cycles don't take much time. We like the appearance and functionality, especially the control in the center of the tower. My wife isn't that tall, so the controls being placed there make it very convenient for her. The tower is also very quiet when it is working except for the alarm that lets us know the cycle has ended. The volume is just right to allow us to hear wherever we are in our home. WE would definitely recommend this machine to others.

Used once so far and a little concerned
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had a brand new LQ Washtower WKE100HVA installed recently and finally had the opportunity to use it. I had connected it to the app, and such, and everything looked good, but just recently ran the first load. The myriad of settings was interesting but a bit daunting, but I got it going anyway. I put the clothes in the dryer and fired it up, and the UNIT was running fine. I wanted to make some changes to the settings, but once its going, that's not really an option...ok, no problem. I fired up the app to see how things were going, and the app said the dryer was off...??? I'm standing there looking at it running. I started a chat with a rep, and he said that's a problem (no kidding), and I needed to delete the app, redownload it and reload the wash tower into the app. Kind of a Microsoft style forklift upgrade, but ok. Waited until the dryer was finished, and then did that. Less than fun, but it worked...ok, good to go....I thought. I was messing with settings on the app, and I had the washer door open to air out and dry as it was still wet inside, and the app attempted to start the washer (my fault) and then errored. It said 'door open'...which was correct. So I closed the door, and the error code on the machine went away. The next day I opened the app, and it had an error on the screen...said washer door was open. It wasn't. The error message was no longer displayed on the unit, but the app refused to clear. I tried for a few minutes, but nope. The unit was fine, but the app was stuck with the error. I deleted the washtower from the app and re-added it. Same error. This was getting annoying. Again, I've only used the system ONE TIME. Since nothing would clear the error, I reached around behind it and pulled the 220v plug. Much like Microsoft, a hard reset cleared the error. Really, LG? So now, both washer and dryer show up in the app. Both units physically seem ok, but brand new equipment shouldn't have these errors. On the use side...the washer had quite a bit of water still inside, so it would be nice if it had a method to clear the water better, but leaving the door open for awhile isn't much different than what I've done with other manufacturer's units. There was wet lint caught on the outside of the boot next to the door that needed cleaned, and the dryer lint screen has two tiny windows in the corners that aren't so easy to clear the lint from. This is kind of a poor design, I think. A single screened window would be simpler to clean, maybe not as stylish, but more functional. We'll see how things go as I used the unit more, but these right out the gate issues give me a bit of concern. The full range of features LOOK cool, but I'll need to see how it performs to know more. For now, it's 4 stars for look, feel and features, and one star off for kludgy functional issues on first use.
Not for New Homes
Product is good but not compatible with new builds. The new electric breakers and GFCI outlets prevent the machine from operating correctly when it uses hot water. It flips the breaker every time. This leaves the homeowner having to replace a safe GFCI outlet with a non-GFCI outlet or illegally modify the breaker box to operate the washer. I really like the u it but it has been an expensive issue to track down and resolve.
Love how well it operates!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We bought a different brand after we bought the house in2013. The tub would only hold a small amount of water, so when I was doing a larger load I would have to put a couple of buckets of water in the tub. The machine was very noisy. Our son has this same LG Washtower and it works great at his business. We are loving it doing the laundry. It is a very quite machine and very efficient.
Hi, Norrich! We appreciate you sharing the great feedback! It’s wonderful to hear your LG WashTower has been such a refreshing upgrade after your previous setup. Knowing it runs quietly, handles larger loads with ease, and performs just as impressively as the one your son uses makes your experience even better. Sounds like laundry day just got a whole lot smoother! For more feedback or questions, please send us an email at lgdigitalcare@lg.sprinklrsupport.com. Thanks for choosing LG! #LifesGood ^James
LG really is ... Life is Good
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I needed to purchase a new stackable washer dryer combo after my old one quit. I chose the LG combo and couldn't be happier that I did. The front-loading washer gets my clothes cleaner than I would have thought possible. The ease of loading and running both the washer and dryer makes things for easy for me and the compact design freed up additional space in my home. I highly recommend the LG washer dryer combo. LG lives up to its name...Life is Good!

Well Made But Disappointing
This is our third LG laundry set. The first stayed with a house we sold and is still running. The second was about five years old and ran flawlessly. We sold that set to buy the stack model for aesthetic reasons. We would have bought the full featured model but needed the Graphite Steel color to match the refrigerator that it sits beside. I like everything about this unit except the dryer selections are extremely limited. Temperature and dryness settings are fixed in most modes. You can cook your clothes on high heat, run at medium heat on a cycle that runs long after the clothes are dry or repeat a shorter cycle because you cannot adjust dryness. LG deliberately handicapped this dryer to justify a higher cost for the next model up. Compared to the higher model, this unit has a lower grade tub material and no dryer steam function. I don't know why LG found it necessary to turn off the selection buttons. The unit is well made but I kind of hate it.
We highly appreciate your honest feedback regarding your experience. We’re so sorry that the product did not meet your overall needs. This will be considered for our continuous improvement. Should you need any assistance with your unit, please send us a private message on Facebook or Twitter at @LGUSSupport, or reach us at our customer service line at (800) 243-0000, and we will be happy to accommodate you. ^Jolly
All around awesome!
We recently purchased this combo set at the brick. Its so quiet, its got all cycles. Its huge inside but decently thin overall. It can wash queen duvets which is fantastic as no more laundry mat and it was affordable. We must admit we haven't used the controls from our phones yet but its def a plus. Great overall performance a recommended must buy!
