I was gifted a bottle for my birthday. At first, I planned on keeping it unopened because of the attractive bottle. It was love at first sip and it was a neat sip! I was surprised by the smooth slightly sweet taste. Needless to say I have replaced the "birthday" bottle several times. Also, I have recently noticed people requesting BH at bars and restaurants. I must say, it's very refreshing to see this brand take off without the unnecessary "celebrity" attachment and hoopla! Good old fashion branding!

Here in Australia we don't get all the smaller batch bourbons you enjoy in USA.,...I really enjoy a bourbon and this one is the most enjoyable so far. Having tasted over 30 different types, this one is my number 1 so far. Very smooth and great straight, with ice, or even a little citrus...a very nice bourbon.

Each Year I look for a new Bourbon to drink. In 2017 Knob Creek Small Batch 120 proof In 2016 it was Angels Envy It took many tastings and much thought, but I have decided Basil Hayden's Bourbon will be my choice in 2018. Congratulations You Win... great work!

I'm relatively new to drinking burnout, especially doing so slowly in order to appreciate the drink. I've found my first bottle of Basil Hayden to be a new taste to my pallet, but filling me with a feeling that reminds me of quality time with a good friend and an old soul. Cheers!

I always mixed bourbon with ginger ale because I didn't know what bourbon was supposed to be like. Hayden's set me straight on what bourbon really is. I ventured out and trying other bourbon outside of the popular well known brands which are bought because they are inexpensive. I always have a bottle of Basil Hayden's in my home. Thanks!

I hadn't had bourbon in years, decades actually. In prep for Christmas 2017 I asked the staff at our local liquor store which bourbon they'd recommend. I went home with Woodford Reserve which I found terrific - nice on the nose, smooth and slightly sweet in the mouth. We enjoyed that bottle and I decided to try something new again - this time it was Basil Hayden's. It's everything my Woodford was, but with a tad more intensity. I think the BH will be my winter 2018 quaff of choice.

By way of qualification, I was introduced to the alcoholic beverage world by my Dad who was a terrific mixologist and restaurant owner. After which I worked in the industry with some of the largest manufacturers and purveyors of spirits (and wines) for a number of years (I am now 74 and have owned my own company for 40 years). As a student of the spirits (American blended whiskey, Canadian whisky, Scotch, Irish, etc., I became a fan of good bourbons; preferring a smooth taste but not an alcoholic "head buster" (as in 90 proof, etc). I was introduced to Basil Hayden's Bourbon this past year and fell in love with it; great taste, smooth and well balanced. I drink it "neat" or on the rocks. However, I just came across your new Basil Hayden's Rye and now have another love! It is fantastic! Both are now my "go to" whiskey products.

It is to me a very good bourbon the notes are fresh, new and nutty. Now the changes I would make put the bottle in a card board sleeve and get rid of the paper apron. Also use a real cork and get rid of that dimple on the bottom of bottle this is not a wine. One more thing put the age on the bottle. It deserves the respect.

With lower alcohol %, the mix of flavors can be enjoyed by straight sipping, as I prefer. Even enjoying the smell before the sip is not preceded by a harsh, pepper nose hit as in higher proofs. I am not a beginner to Bourbon, however I'm appreciating less (alcohol) is more enjoyment. So happy to have first experienced BH, '23 Thanksgiving in Newport, RI @ Fleming's steak house.

Seeing it at my favorite beverage depot at a nice price point, I decided to try it. I had read reviews but was wonderfully surprised as I unsealed the bottle taking in the rich yet smooth aroma. The notes of dried fruit and oak were forefront. As I took my first sip I was even more impressed with the subtle Carmel effects and the lingering fruits. The oak was also present but the pepper was just a trace. It's burn was enjoyable but short lived. This was not a problem as it only invited to take another sip.
