There is nothing better than a bourbon with a brief finish. Quite the opposite- you don't want that with friendships, so I highly recommend introducing BH to your friends who enjoy a smooth sip. It guarantees that they'll have it when you visit them. It is simply put, the best bourbon.

I had gotten this as Christmas gift from my roommate, he knows I love tasting and enjoying new whiskeys here and there. He handed me this bottle and I had to give it a sip straight up. I'm not particularly found of spicy notes but Basil Hayden wasn't all to powerful, it was quite smooth and very crisp if that would make some sense. Very enjoyable whiskey straight up but I've found it very refreshing to enjoy on the rocks.

Tried Basil Hayden's Bourbon for the first time tonight and found this high-rye whiskey to be a lovely lightly spiced complement to Yardbirds shrimp and grits dish. It laid softly on my palate and left a pleasant burning sensation lingering on my tongue.

This bourbon is a good go to when you want to have a drink at the end of the day. It's decently smooth and is 80 proof. It has more of a charred oak finish at the end and you can taste the black pepper and brown sugar. The price is not terrible and the packaging is nice!

I just purchased Basil Hayden Dark Rye. This is the smoothest Whiskey ever !! The blend with port makes a great drink with a cigar fantastic!!! The aftertastes are superb!!! I can't wait to give this to my friends for their birthday!! Excellent job distillers !!!!

I always mixed bourbon with ginger ale because I didn't know what bourbon was supposed to be like. Hayden's set me straight on what bourbon really is. I ventured out and trying other bourbon outside of the popular well known brands which are bought because they are inexpensive. I always have a bottle of Basil Hayden's in my home. Thanks!

This is my first time tasting. I had about a 2 Oz shot and it was smooth with a slight sweetness. I could taste the oak charred design and it was impressive, easy on the taste buds and no lingering harsh aftermath that you may have with other bourbons. All that should be said is, "Try it for Yourself" because I am a bourbon/whiskey type guy and this does not disappoint at all. Cheers!!! -RANDY

I've been a Kentucky bourbon drinker for thirty plus years. While there are many fine spirits by the multitude of distillers throughout the state, in my humble opinion Basil Hayden ranks right up there with some of the higher end distillations. None of which are more drinkable on a regular basis.

Seeing it at my favorite beverage depot at a nice price point, I decided to try it. I had read reviews but was wonderfully surprised as I unsealed the bottle taking in the rich yet smooth aroma. The notes of dried fruit and oak were forefront. As I took my first sip I was even more impressed with the subtle Carmel effects and the lingering fruits. The oak was also present but the pepper was just a trace. It's burn was enjoyable but short lived. This was not a problem as it only invited to take another sip.

I started enjoying Basil years ago after one of my hunting buddies broke out a bottle after a long cold day in the duck blind. I've been enjoying Basil Hayden's on the rocks ever since! The best tasting, easiest sipping bourbon on the market with a super smoothe finish.
