I recommend Basil Hayden to all my friends because of its taste and smoothness when drinking it neat. Basil Hayden also makes a delicious Old Fashioned. In fact, go to Fleming's Steakhouse and order one, they do an excellent job with theirs. Cheers!!!

By way of qualification, I was introduced to the alcoholic beverage world by my Dad who was a terrific mixologist and restaurant owner. After which I worked in the industry with some of the largest manufacturers and purveyors of spirits (and wines) for a number of years (I am now 74 and have owned my own company for 40 years). As a student of the spirits (American blended whiskey, Canadian whisky, Scotch, Irish, etc., I became a fan of good bourbons; preferring a smooth taste but not an alcoholic "head buster" (as in 90 proof, etc). I was introduced to Basil Hayden's Bourbon this past year and fell in love with it; great taste, smooth and well balanced. I drink it "neat" or on the rocks. However, I just came across your new Basil Hayden's Rye and now have another love! It is fantastic! Both are now my "go to" whiskey products.

Seeing it at my favorite beverage depot at a nice price point, I decided to try it. I had read reviews but was wonderfully surprised as I unsealed the bottle taking in the rich yet smooth aroma. The notes of dried fruit and oak were forefront. As I took my first sip I was even more impressed with the subtle Carmel effects and the lingering fruits. The oak was also present but the pepper was just a trace. It's burn was enjoyable but short lived. This was not a problem as it only invited to take another sip.

Exploring bourbon in the UK is more challenging as we're limited in our choice. Had heard about this smooth bourbon from my local whisky dealer and he managed to get a bottle for me. First sip and I was converted. It has everything I want in a bourbon, complex, full of flavour and depth but wonderfully light. Am now spreading the word in UK and have given a bottle to all my close friends for Christmas! Absolutely wonderful!

I started enjoying Basil years ago after one of my hunting buddies broke out a bottle after a long cold day in the duck blind. I've been enjoying Basil Hayden's on the rocks ever since! The best tasting, easiest sipping bourbon on the market with a super smoothe finish.

I was lucky enough to find this wonderful tasting whiskey because of this song! Where the Basil Hayden name is clearly mentioned and I had no idea who Basil Hayden was! So I simply googled his name and low and behold I know have a new favorite whiskey! Thank you Basil Hadyencand Thank you Fountains of Wayne for including Basil's name in your song Red Dragon Tattoo. I'm 66 years young. Been drinking Wild Turkey all my life. A friend brought a bottle to my birthday party, when I opened the present I was thinking " boy hope this whiskey is as good as mine. Guess what? A 3/4 bottle of Turkey is still in the garage on the counter. What a great whisky!

I've sipped a few Bourbons over the last 2 years that I gave up on beer for a more sophisticated drink and boy this one is really darn good. I'm usually more of a wild turkey / Bulleit bourbon kind of guy, but I'm open minded to keep on trying any bourbon. I got to say I really have a hard time putting this one down I enjoy it so much, and yes it's my new go to bourbon. LOVE IT

As a seasoned Scotch Drinker I am always in search of the next best thing outside of my stable Blue Label and Glenmorangie. Well this is as smooth and light on the pallet whiskey I've had in a long time. OK Ever. It's excellent and I would recommend having a bottle or two on reserve for those warm summer months. High proof but smooth on the finish makes this a must have.

Here in Australia we don't get all the smaller batch bourbons you enjoy in USA.,...I really enjoy a bourbon and this one is the most enjoyable so far. Having tasted over 30 different types, this one is my number 1 so far. Very smooth and great straight, with ice, or even a little citrus...a very nice bourbon.
