I normally prefer a mash that is corn dependent. A bourbon snob. And, rye is not a secondary choice. I like to try different products and openly admit my pleasure with the bottle of Hayden's I purchased extremely smooth, no aftertaste and one I will keep stocked.

From the north country of Vermont along the Canadian border, where winters are long, dark and fridged. Irish whiskey flows through my veins as can be traced to my homeland in Cork Ireland what keeps me warm. On a recent business trip to Chicago in late summer, I strolled into a local recommended spot. They served a summer whiskey drink called the Hayden berry, came highly praised. Not my usual Irish on a single rock, I pulled long gulps on a hot summer day. Pleasantly surprised and refreshed I strolled along. In weeks to follow I found myself back in the north country of Vermont...with a bottle of Basil Hayden's in my locker and a secret recipe obtained through a covert phone conversation with a bar hand that shall remain nameless.

While i enjoy a number of whiskeys, bourbons, scotches etc. Basil Hayden's remains my favorite and my go-to for any event or party. Clean, easy to drink, and a smooth and buttery profile with a hint of spice on the finish is an excellent bourbon. with a more than reasonable price point im continually astonished at the quality and complexity. and the ability for straight enjoyment or as a high class base for a number of wonderful cocktails.

This bourbon is a good go to when you want to have a drink at the end of the day. It's decently smooth and is 80 proof. It has more of a charred oak finish at the end and you can taste the black pepper and brown sugar. The price is not terrible and the packaging is nice!

I was lucky enough to find this wonderful tasting whiskey because of this song! Where the Basil Hayden name is clearly mentioned and I had no idea who Basil Hayden was! So I simply googled his name and low and behold I know have a new favorite whiskey! Thank you Basil Hadyencand Thank you Fountains of Wayne for including Basil's name in your song Red Dragon Tattoo. I much happier because of you both!

Basil Hayden Bourbon is my go to drink, but after a recommendation for the Rye, I am quite impressed!!! Not a rye drinker, and not a neat or on the rocks drinker, but the rye is made for that. Exceptionally smooth, and a great finish.... well recommended to any Bourbon or Whiskey drinker..

Here in Australia we don't get all the smaller batch bourbons you enjoy in USA.,...I really enjoy a bourbon and this one is the most enjoyable so far. Having tasted over 30 different types, this one is my number 1 so far. Very smooth and great straight, with ice, or even a little citrus...a very nice bourbon.

I always mixed bourbon with ginger ale because I didn't know what bourbon was supposed to be like. Hayden's set me straight on what bourbon really is. I ventured out and trying other bourbon outside of the popular well known brands which are bought because they are inexpensive. I always have a bottle of Basil Hayden's in my home. Thanks!

Have been a Crown guy for years, but tried my first Basil Hayden drink night before last. It was my first of several over the next two nights. Very smooth bourbon that is great by itself on the rocks or mixed in a cocktail like an Old Fashion. Will be buying a bottle for my cabinet and will be replacing Crown with it as my new favorite whiskey.
