I bought this item approximately 1.5 months ago for my son’s birthday. Still unfinished. I paid $900 for the “professional” installation since I read horror stories on self building with missing parts and pieces not fitting correctly. The company that was supposed to build it for me for $900 which was already paid, decided not to call me. Delivery of the playset was faster than expected which was a plus and I had the boxes sitting in my driveway.
I called the installation company and asked when they would have an installation date ready for me, since the item was delivered already. They said they would call me back tomorrow. I wanted 2 days and never received a call back. I call them back and they said again they would call me tomorrow. Again another 2 days pass and never heard from them. I call them again. They said they haven’t found anyone who can install it yet?? I asked if they were the installation company and apparently they are a third party who outsources their jobs to a local company to shave money off the top. They kept not calling me back, this occurred for 2 weeks straight with my boxes just sitting in the driveway the entire time. I call them again and they said “we’ve escalated your situation and we’ll give you a call back either today or tomorrow.” Guess what? No call back. I call again and hear someone whispering in the back “say we’ll call you back.” I call SamsClub customer services to complain about this lack of professionalism, and SamsClub had the “installation” company’s back and said “it can take up to 2 weeks for them to give you a date.” The representative said this very rudely like I was the one at fault. Also, this was a blatant lie. An absolute lie from SamsClub because after about a month of back and forth, I call SamsClub customer service again and get it “escalated.” The manager at SamsClub said this was not supposed to happen and whoever I spoke to at SamsClub customer services prior to that was misinformed.
Out of desperation for my son’s upcoming birthday, I ended up calling a local guy to build it, and pay him $500 for installation. As the guy was building it, halfway through his build, he comes to me and says many parts are missing, the app to build the playset was malfunctioning and that we need atleast 40 more screws to finish the build. He had to sand down some pieces that were too long to fit properly. I called SamsClub again, they said they would send the missing parts. As he drilled, not hard drilling, the wood splintered and cracked in multiple pieces.
I’m over this playset and the lies I’ve been told. I’m so unhappy and my son’s birthday has passed with a half built, broken and splintered cheap playset. I am embarrassed because I had family come over with their children for his birthday and they questioned this unfinished playset. I am returning it all, you guys win. I’m out an extra amount of money due to paying the local man for half the build. I’ve never had such a bad and poor experience that left me this frustrated and embarrassed. I will be returning this item. I appreciate SamsClub for accepting the return.
