I expected something a little better made for the cost. Bought this for my dad as his air unit went out mid summer. I expected it to sound like a regular window unit, possibly a little louder. You cant even hear the TV when it's running with the TV turned all the way up!! So, I bought him a surround sound so he could be cool and hear his TV. I wish I would have just got him a large window unit.

Poor Model Design

I have had several of these units, and the most current one is their worst design ever. The flexible duct exhaust size has been increased and the new improved sliding window insert leaves huge gaps and won't sit level on the window sill - much prefer the older style units with smaller size exhaust hose and window insert that actually sits level in the open window.

Worth Every Penny!

Our air went out and it was going to be hot and humid the weekend before the service tech would be out. My mom has breathing issues, so I broke down and ordered this. Had to set it up in the kitchen as the living room and bedrooms did not have a three prong outlet, and also needed access to a window, but it worked. We had it in the kitchen, blowing into the living room, then a fan in the living room helping to circulate the air. It kept the temp down two or three degrees, which helped. Pricey, but so worth it. Our aid conditioner issues is finally fixed (after four service calls!) so I will be using this in our detached garage.
