I wish I'd opted for shelving without rivets. Shelving stays connected once nuts and bolts are tightened. These rivets are constantly popping out of the slot throughout the entire assembly process. The beams are easily bent which makes seating the rivets even more aggravating. I thought a rack was a rack. Now I know differently. When I go back to purchase another rack, next time I will opt to pay slightly more money for a better quality rack.

I have been buying these shelves for for twenty years. Every time I buy them they are made cheaper and less sturdy than the last time. Just when I think they cannot use any less metal in the manufacture of these, they prove me wrong. You no longer need a rubber mallet to assemble them as they now fall together as well as fall apart when you try to move them. Come on Sam's, how much profit do you need to make! Look for better shelves elsewhere.

I've always found Member's Mark products to be great quality and value. That all ended with this purchase. In the past, I've bought many of the Muscle Rack version of this shelf unit and found it to be of excellent quality. Now in the club, is the MM version of the same product, or so I thought. I purchased 4 of these at the club for my shop. I started to put them together and found that the pieces just push together and don't require hammering like the Muscle Rack. This causes it to come apart everytime it moves. Severely aggravating!!! Also, the steel shelf support pieces are clearly made of a lighter gauge of steel which make them flex so much more. Once I finally got each of them put together, I slid them a bit to get them next to the wall to anchor, and would have to put several of the supports back in the slots because they were not tight and would pop out of place. Lots More Aggravation!!! After getting them in place and all the supports back in place, I screwed them to the wall and they finally felt secure. I would not recommend this shelf unit. Go to Sam's online and purchase the Muscle Rack brand of this unit and pay the additional $10 for the premium product. That's what I will do in the future.

These shelves do what I need. The price is very good. They are a little bit of a bear to put together. THESE ARE NOT COMMERCIAL!!!! 600LB rating is optimistic. I would never put that much for an extended period of time. The wood planks are laminated pressed board about 1/4 inch thick. It might take a load if it was sitting on the supports around the edges. I would not trust that weight in the center. The other two factors making these not suitable for commercial applications is how the top connects to the bottom. It It sits on a 1/16 of an inch ledge and is held together by the center shelf. I feel like like heavy weight up top might cause uprights to slip. The third issue is that the lugs do not lock well. I am comparing these to actual commercial grade storage. These are good for homeowner use. The commercial grade storage like these I do use would cost about $600. I would rate this a 4; if it wasn't for the description of commercial grade. The price is what makes them good.

This shelf unit is great, sturdy, holds a ton of weight - exactly as advertised. You don’t need an engineering degree to put it together but get a friend to help - I does take 2 but pretty straightforward. Holds all of my Christmas Decor on the upper shelves and tools and paint supplies on the lowers. My garage is all organized and couldn’t be happier.

Top & bottom uprights do NOT interlock as pictured; all 8 pieces are identical & merely rest on top of each other. One shelf/bracket set must be used to hold them together; should have couplings instead for stability. Difficult to assemble top & bottom by yourself, but can be done. Also, not "hidden slot-post design" as stated in ad copy. No 8 plastic end caps as stated in instructions, either. Bought 2 units at $44.95 (each) one-day sale price; arrived by FedEx undamaged

This is the 3rd of these I have purchased. The first 2 went together very easily. You need a second person to help if you are doing it the full 7ft tall. This one had too much paint, making it very hard to assemble. Had to beat it with a hammer on most pieces to get them to fully seat. Didn’t have to do that with the first or second one I put together last year. QC needs some attention.

These are the best value for.money you are going to find. I have 20 of them in various places in my house/garage/basement. They are super sturdy. It IS easier to put them together with someone to help, but not impossible I'm a single mom with a toddler. Assembly does not require screws, just pushing two buttons and sliding them down into place.

These are heavy. Two people are needed to move the box. I had them shipped, and put them together without assistance. But, I do not think the average size person can put these together alone. You will need a friend to assist with assembly. Be sure you have them where you will want them to be for always when you put the shelves in. $39 was a deal, but I would not pay more than that for them. They will do the job, but there are better options at the higher price.

I've given up trying to assemble both upper and lower posts together... they will not all align and lock and the metal is very flimsy. I've hurt myself and bent the metal trying to use my rubber mallet to fit everything in place. Its very poor metal engineering in assemblage. BUYER BEWARE!!!! These 5 star reviews are probably fake to prevent the rating to fall below 4 stars.
