A decent shelf for the money

I was disappointed that the shelf supports didn't "click" into place like other similar shelving units I've purchased. They only stay in place by gravity. The bottom shelf (closest to the floor) must be in place to meet the loading as advertised. This limits the possible configurations. The laminate-finish on the shelves is nice making for easy cleanup and avoiding possible deterioration from spilled oils etc. which often effect unfinished shelf surfaces found on other units. Overall I'm satisfied but not impressed.

Good features, poorly packed, some shelves chipped

This is quite useful for a pantry I'm building. I bought two, and overall am pleased. However, multiple shelves were chipped on the corner -- one corner quite severely. I see that other reviewers have noted the same thing, and it appears this is a common occurrence. When I purchased this, I was under the impression that the entire shelf was stainless steel, but just the frame is, and the shelves themselves are laminated MDF. They still work, and this is one of the better priced options available. However, I hope to get a partial refund or some replacement shelves.

Adequate? Maybe.

This shelf system is hopefully adequate. I have purchased many other similar shelving units from Sam’s that were much better quality. This system does not seem to be as well made as the ones they previously sold. It was inexpensive but I may look elsewhere for future purchases. I would not recommend.

Made in Taiwan Quality

Tuff to assemble because of awkward angle steel joins. Also the press board shelves corner trim peels off a bit, i.e. the last several inches on say half the shelves is loose. I would go with the Muscle Rack instead of these Members Mark. See my post on the Muscle Rack by Jacksranch.

Nice shelving

I previously bought shelves from Sam's Club that were very nice and sturdy however this brand is not as sturdy feels very flimsy but does hold weight. Did not arrive in very good condition as far as the Box went one of the boxes was falling apart and broken when it arrived so we refused to receive that box hoping the other one that looks like they hit it with a fork is okay inside one just had small chips in the wood if you can call it wood.

Quality Reduced Too Far!

This storage rack is very low quality and marginal for storing things 84" high. I have purchased these racks from Sams Club many times over the years. While the price of these racks has gone up over that time which is understandable, the quality has dropped to an unacceptable level. Like other products, manufacturers look for ways to cut cost. The metal on these racks is very thin and does support the load but the connections have become very loose and need weight on the shelves just to hold them in place. In particular, the way the upper and lower vertical pieces are connected is a poor design. It will go together with enough work but took so much time to finally get the connection to work, I won't buy it again. While this rack is lower price than similar products from other vendors, it's not worth the hassle and risk of collapsing. The shelf thickness has also been reduced to just over 1/4" now, which means any significant weight makes it sag.

Cannot assemble bottom/top sections vertically!

Do not even attempt to assemble this shelf alone! The components are too flimsy, and the shelf brackets will not stay attached to the slots in the vertical uprights. They will pop-out at the slightest touch. With the help of a second person, I finally was able to assemble the lower half. The instructions have you assemble the top half separately, then place that assembly on the bottom half. They are supposed to be locked together by the long and short shelf brackets. There is a small ridge on the lower uprights to meet the top uprights. This design is a joke! The components are far too lightweight to hold the assembly together. We finally gave up and are only using the bottom section with 4 shelves. Save yourself a lot of pain and aggravation and find a heavier-duty alternative.

Cheap knockoff of previously sold gray shelves

If you have purchased Sam's Club gray shelves in the past, these are not the same. I have purchased several of the previously sold shelves for business and personal use. These shelves have thinner verticals and much thinner shelf brackets. The brackets are so thin that two verticals can rotate almost 90 degrees from each other. The plastic shelves are also thinner which causes there to be a raised lip around the shelf because it is not thick enough to reach the top of the brackets. Getting the tabs on the brackets to seat in the holes on the verticals is about a 75% success rate. If Sam's Club was looking for a cheap knock off of their previous shelving unit, they succeeded.

poor shelves but the price is okedok

It was very frustrating to try and put these shelves together. The rails are too narrow to have the shelving standards stay in place, the pins on the standards could never LOCK in place, resulting in loose connections and rails going one direction and standards another. Then, trying to place one rail on the other with such loose connections was hopeless. I bent the rivets on the shelving standard so they would pinch the rails, I also used bolts to connect the top rails to the bottom rails, they were never going to stay aligned anyway! I used bolts and washers and dropped the top rails down three holes and it worked well. The standards for these shelves has been lowered severely by the manufacturer, some of the bottom rails held together well in pinch and friction, but the rest of my two shelves were horrible. The shelving material for the bottom portion is also poor, I don't expect them to last too long under weight, they are going to sag BAD! If your mechanical, these are just ok for light stuff. If you want some good shelving, spend the bucks and get the good ones!

Would not recommend

Had these shipped and the shelves were cracked and corners smashed. Got 2 more to replace those and they were also broken. The shelves are so thin and no protection in the box so I’m not sure how anyone gets to use them. Took forever to get the refund, still not showing up on my card after 7 days so not sure I even got it.
