Do not even attempt to assemble this shelf alone! The components are too flimsy, and the shelf brackets will not stay attached to the slots in the vertical uprights. They will pop-out at the slightest touch. With the help of a second person, I finally was able to assemble the lower half. The instructions have you assemble the top half separately, then place that assembly on the bottom half. They are supposed to be locked together by the long and short shelf brackets. There is a small ridge on the lower uprights to meet the top uprights. This design is a joke! The components are far too lightweight to hold the assembly together. We finally gave up and are only using the bottom section with 4 shelves. Save yourself a lot of pain and aggravation and find a heavier-duty alternative.

I was disappointed that the shelf supports didn't "click" into place like other similar shelving units I've purchased. They only stay in place by gravity. The bottom shelf (closest to the floor) must be in place to meet the loading as advertised. This limits the possible configurations. The laminate-finish on the shelves is nice making for easy cleanup and avoiding possible deterioration from spilled oils etc. which often effect unfinished shelf surfaces found on other units. Overall I'm satisfied but not impressed.

I bought 2 of these racks for my basement storage area to hold large totes. It is a 2 person assembly job because the rails don’t stay in place while you are putting things together. That being said, the rack is very sturdy and stable after the shelves are placed. Each shelf holds a lot of weight and the rack doesn’t sway at all once assembled.

These Member's Mark 6-Shelf Storage Racks are inferior to those sold some years ago under the Gorilla Shelving brand and then under the Muscle Shelving brand. (I have purchased 40 of those units over the past two decades.) The frames are lighter and the connecting pieces are not as tight or secure. If resting up against a wall they may be okay but as free standing units they are inferior -- quite wobbly compared to previous units.

Very hard to put together due to the shelf brackets popping out as your putting it together. Even after its together some of them won't stay in place until you put weight on them.

This product is horrible. Super lightweight and extremely difficult to put together. These may look like the old ones Sam’s has always carried but they are nothing like them. I do not have faith in putting things on the top shelves.

Sturdy and durable once you get it assembled. The assembly process is terrible. One of the most difficult items I have ever assembled. This is coming from an engineer.

The shelves are great - 5 stars for them. However, i had to drive 100 miles to get them because my local Sams Club hasn't had them in stock for a long time and there is no provision to transfer product between clubs.

There are two sections, top & bottom. They do not slide in together, they overlap. This makes it difficult to connect and not as stable as other units that interlock.

Real pain to put together(& Im a maintenance man). Some of the shelves arrived damaged for to packaging and pure weight of the package. Worth $40 once assembled. Save yourself son aggravation and get help assembling. Fairly sturdy once assembled.
