Returned

Wanted to give these shelves a chance after reading all the negative reviews so I bought one but I should have listened. These shelves would be good for light/medium weight items (toilet paper, etc). Cheap material, you get what you pay for. I returned this set and spent an extra $30 for a 6 Tier commercial grade metal shelving which is also from Sam’s.

Great Shelves and have lasted for years

We bought these shelves years ago and the first try putting them together was a bit hard. You need two people. But we have purchased more and they get easier to put together. Our shop looks awesome and they hold heavy items. We have had them 5 or 6 years and look like new. We are about to get these for our daughter and son-in-law's shop.

Poor Quality, Cheaply Made

I purchased numerous shelves over the years for my business and home. Last week I purchased two of these shelves thinking, as others have, that surely they can't be that bad... they are. The metal used in these are a MUCH lighter gauge and assembly is a pain. I don't know if I can even trust the top half of the shelving unit - the assembly procedure leave the upper shelves feeling flimsy and prone to collapse. As with other reviewers, I'm not going to return because it would be a pain to disassemble, pack back into the box it came it and transport back to the store. This shelving unit is certainly sub par compared to what Sam's used to see.

Not Heavy Duty at All!

I bought this a few weeks ago and sure wish I did not. Hopefully I can save you a real waste of money and more importantly time. The manufacturing is so poor and cheap that the shelf supports mostly do not "snap" in as stated in the instructions, most simply sit in place and pop right back out when the unit bends as it does often given the very cheap, thin metal used. After some frustration, I got this all put together as specified. There is no way it will hold 600 lbs per shelf and 3600 lbs on the unit as advertised on the box. Once I started using it, loading one shelf with a few hundred pounds, the shelf material broke, the shelf is actually made of some cheap osb or worse covered with a thin plastic laminate. I had thought these shelves were a solid plastic. Now that I have this setup, its not worth the time and trouble to disassemble and make the several hour round trip back to Sams club to return. I certainly would not waste the time building this junk again. I will use it for a few lighter items. Probably a few hundred pounds on the whole unit will be ok. Good luck!

Love these shelves!

I bought 3 shelves and even though I've had cancer, work injury (that makes my right arm not work as well, a heart attack, both hips replaced and hand surgery. After my hand healed, I still managed to make my shelves fit together. So if I can do it by myself then I don't see why anyone would have such a hard time. The first one was the hardest (as always when building anything) but then you learn and can put them together easier. Suck it up people or buy the cheap plastic that will become brittle fall apart in a few years.

Stop! Look for a different shelf NOW!

I want to return this piece of crap, but I don’t want to lug the 75 pound open box back to Sam’s. This is awful to put together and the beams do not lock or hold in place. The top and bottom piece do not fit together and a rubber mallet isn’t going to help anything. I wish I would’ve followed the other bad reviews and stayed away from this piece of junk!

DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY

I have purchased and assembled numerous shelving units in my time and this is probably the worst unit I have come across. I bought it for the dimensional sizing and shelf load. I guess I should have done more research on the quality factor. DO NOT try to assemble by yourself. The braces constantly fall loose as you try to put it together and I had to actually wire-tie the connections together to get them to stay long enough for it to be assembled. The designer of this should have a lobotomy so that they could never think up something this poorly designed again.
