Great, except assembly

I bought this a few months ago and my son loves it. It however is a nightmare to put together. One of the legs for the swing had the holes drilled crooked so now one of the legs is bent at a strange angle. We didnt notice until it was built and didn't dare take it down. None of the parts are labled or color coded so it did make the process a little harder. Overall i dont regret the purchase and think the leg was a freak accident in manufacturing. I am a perfectionist so it does bother when ever I look at it but it has been hours of fun for my five year old. Would have rated higher if the swing support leg wasnt off.

Horrible Ladder

The kids love the set, but the ladder is dangerous. The arch is too high and it's hard for them to get their footing. I would never let a child climb up this ladder without adult supervision. We took it off and built our own that is Safe for children. Would not recommend buying this.

quality playset built to last

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] After numerous cheap metal swing sets and then wooden set that did not last five years I stopped being cheap and got this set for my three kids. I put it together by myself 5 hours the first day and another five hours the second day. It took some ingenuity. I had a friend help me lift the roof up onto the top and thats it. Kids love it. Money well spent.

Great product and the kids love it. Easy instructions but it did take about 6hrs for 2 of us to build. The shipping was terrible though. Swing set was supposed to be deliver Feb 10th but came the 18th and was missing the slide. I called Lifetime directly and they were very nice but slide didn't arrive until March 2nd

Beautiful and unique set that was easier to assemble than you think.

For a long time my Mother has wanted to add a play set to her yard for her grandchildren. She eventually chose this set based on the design and price. I was tasked with the assembly. Now, this is a big set so the manual was quite long. The manual was surprisingly clear on how every thing went together, which made the task seem much less daunting. You definitely need at least 2 sets of hands to assemble most of the unit. That's a bit of a hassle, but completely understandable. The assembly took the better part of Saturday, but it all went pretty smooth. The set looks great! It's almost whimsical. It makes you feel like you're in a castle. My nieces and nephews absolutely love it! The deck and rock climbing walls were a huge hit. I would highly recommend this set. Some sets are just too big and gaudy. This thing is just beautiful.

Impressive instruction manual and packaging

The attention to detail as well as the packaging is impressive. The instruction manual doesn't skip anything or create confusion at any step of the way (Read every line and warning, don't skip any steps). It is very detailed and organized to keep you moving forward. This project took my Wife and myself a total of 7 hours to complete in one day. There were no blemishes or missing pieces upon delivery. The only advice I have is to invest in a 3/16 Allen ratchet to speed up the process. We are very impressed and happy with our investment as this piece will last for quite some time.

Quality Set, Well Designed

Overall: This takes a good while to set up. One of the chief reasons for this is its almost exclusive use of barrel nuts. Not sure what that is--I wasn't, but it means you have to insert the nut into the predrilled hole just like you do the bolt itself. It means a lot more time spent aligning parts so that you can get the nuts started. The important plus of this is there are almost NO exposed nuts to snag tender skin or clothing. (the exceptions are in well out of the way places that I see no problem with.) One thing I found helpful was to reverse the diagram and install the nut from my side of the installation. It will look the same due to the design of the barrel nuts. Assembly: I am a 65 year old man and assembled virtually 100% of this by myself. Although this is heavy, the components are quite manageable. The instructions are quite good, although I did call their toll free number once, waited on hold a couple of minutes and received a good answer. The manual at that one point was practically useless--no diagram. I did watch the videos on line. They help give an overall orientation section by section but do not replace the instructions in any way. There are a few places you just need someone to hold a wrench due to arms being of limited reach, others where aligning parts require your eye level to be here and reach there. You pre-assemble the roof and have to get it up to the top. I managed to do so by myself, but I don't necessarily recommend that to anyone! Other Items: In addition to the cost of the kit you're most likely to want to spend a couple of hundred dollars more for mulch to make the play area well padded. Rather than buy just rubber mulch, I went for shredded bark topped with rubber mulch. In my case, it paid to price shop for the rubber mulch--one home improvement chain was considerably cheaper than the other. Sam's didn't have rubber mulch when I was doing mine. Durability: This seems to be very durable. I'll be disappointed if this doesn't last decades rather than years. The plastic parts are robust and the other parts are metal. The only concern would be if the manufacturer used the "wrong" plastic and it became brittle with sun exposure. (I believe they used durable material.) Really sound design, strong assembly and inviting.

Good solid playset, but could be improved.

Really 4.5 stars, a few suggestions before you tackle this. Pay extra close attention when installing the floor and triple check you have the right orientation. This will be evident by the divots on the floor to attach the slide and climbing rails being in the proper locations. The youtube video is a wonderful resource so be sure to utilize it. I put this set together by myself and it took about 20 hours, however there is a step or two where you absolutely need an extra hand. Also lifetime only provides two ground stakes which is not sufficient. Go ahead and get 6 extra to secure every pole to really make the set secure. These really should be included for the price of this set. Also, if you do not have a battery impact wrench go ahead and get one to build this set. The instructions list that a drill is sufficient but the impact wrench is much better for securing nuts and bolts. In the video they use an impact wrench also.

I put it together by myself

So far so good. Did a lot of research with different brands and decided on Lifetime because of their reputation and quality. I wanted something that my kids can play on for years to come. Although I liked the look of most wood playground sets, they never seem to last because they're made of cheap wood. Definitely don't regret that decision. I also put the whole thing together by myself. I'm just a DIY'er with a decent amount of tools, not a professional tradesman. Couldn't really ask anyone for help as well due to the pandemic. But I likely woulda tried tackling it myself anyway because I'm an idiot. So, I can prove that this can be put together with only one person, however I don't recommend it unless you are a glutton for punishment. Took about a week, putting in 2-3 hrs a day. The directions are fairly easy to follow, but I definitely screwed up once or twice and had to backtrack a bit. If the legs had better designation or explanation, this could certainly be avoided. I suggest for anyone putting it together to pay close attention once you get to the upper rails portion of the tower. 50/50 shot that you put it together backwards, which of course I did. But I enjoyed building it and my 2 year old daughter loves it already. Still a little big for her but again, I wanted something her and her soon to be sister could enjoy for years to come.

Great Product!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We bought this for our grandson, age 5 and he loves it! He plays on it daily! We no longer have to worry about him not getting enough physical exercise! This playset should last for years as it is very sturdy and exceptionally well built. This purchase was one of our best ever!
