Samsung quality convinced this broadcasting pro

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] In the world of network broadcasting, there is only one brand which I'm not allowed to mention in this review on the site. Supposed to say that I've only had monitors and television sets by that Japanese brand, since it's what we used at HBO and NBC. On a whim I decided to buy a Samsung Smart TV a bit more than a year ago. My regular professional brand didn't have anything on the market that met my needs, which turned out good for Samsung: the color quality, temperatures, resolution, motion and everything are just extraordinary on the Samsung. I appreciate the additional capabilities of having a television that connects to my Galaxy phones, but really it's just a heck of a display.

Great picture quality, one huge GLARING flaw

so this picture has great picture quality rivaling oleds with deep blacks and high brightness that oled can't currently rival. however if i'm watching a movie or tv show and there is an indirect light source that i have to get up and walk several feet to see in the tv it causes a rainbow reflection to go across the entire tv which is very distracting and ruins the picture quality. this is especially bothersome when i have guests over and turning off all the lights and closing all the blinds in my house isn't practical. i've never had such poor reflection handling in a tv. as you can see from the photos i've uploaded i'm watching a brightly lit tv show during daytime, three lights are reflected by the tv and you can also see my window. is my unit defective?

Great picture, changing sources annoying

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Love the picture on this TV and the sound is great. Only annoying thing is no dedicated source button, so to go between your HDMI ports you have to click all the way to the left of the menu to change the source.

unable to pair Bluetooth headphones

i've tried and tried (with three different bluetooth headphones) to pair them with no success. seems to hang (nothing happens) after selecting "pair and connect". maybe a sw update will fix it? would like to get this to work due to my "hearing situation". also the neggen (atsc 3.0) channels look worse than the corresponding hd channels. however this could be a broadcaster problem.

To pair your headphones using the TV's Bluetooth function, go to: Settings > Sound > Sound Output > Bluetooth Speaker List - If the TV fails to find a Bluetooth device, place the device closer to the TV, and then select Refresh. - When you turn on a paired Bluetooth device, the TV detects it automatically, and then displays a pop-up window. Use this pop-up window to activate or deactivate the Bluetooth device. You may also want to check the Connection Guide for detailed information regarding connecting your headphones. The TV is nice

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I use this TV mostly for gaming, secondly movies and streaming. It has amazing features for standards, and great picture quality. The only issue I notice is how bad the blooming is for this TV. It's easily visible. And the local dimming at times take from the overall quality. Would easily be a five star for me if this were to be fixed

Superb detail in the colors

HDMI Ports Defective-check all your hdmi ports

i bought the 85” qn85a in october 2021 for watching movies (blu-ray) with surround sound, and gaming, however, only one hdmi port could be used (#4). since the tv was defective, i did an exchange at the retailer and decided to go up a model to the qn90a (85”). i have the same issue. you can only plug an hdmi cable into one port. i tried plugging firesticks and different hdmi cables into the other three ports with no success. the port is either too small, shaped differently, or have some other manufacturing issue. i find it hard to believe that i ended up with the only two tvs with this issue. i believe there's a manufacturing issue that no one is aware of because most people use streaming services.

Buggy audio ruins great tv

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We picked the QLED tv because we have a bright living room so the bright picture was important. We weren't disappointed by the picture, it was great. Very bright and easy to see even in the middle of the day. Unfortunately the audio kept drifting out of sync. Using any app the audio would de-sync after a while. Switching apps on a firestick would cause it to happen. Even the built in apps didn't work when I first got the tv, YouTube and Hulu being especially bad. I've been applying firmware updates as soon as they come out and it's getting better, but Hulu still doesn't work right. It's very disappointing to pay so much for a tv that still doesn't work properly.

Please be sure your firmware is up to date with version 1805.4 which includes updates to address lip sync or audio delays that you are experiencing. You can check this by going to: Settings > Support > Software Update. If this firmware version is not yet available on your TV, you can download the update on a USB drive and manually update your TV: 1. On Samsung's website (upper right corner), go to: Support > Manuals & Software > Find your TV model. 2. Download the update and extract it to the root of a USB thumb drive. (Do not put it in any folders on the thumb drive.) 3. Connect the USB thumb drive to a USB port on your TV. 4. Navigate to Settings > Support > Software Update, select Update Now, and then select Yes. 5. Follow the on-screen instructions to install the updated software. If your firmware is up to date and you are still experiencing delays and you have a Home Theatre System or other speakers connected to your TV, you can access the Audio Delay settings to increase the audio delay. Go to: Settings > Sound > Expert Settings > Digital Output Audio Delay I hope these tips help. Frustrating

i've owned the tv for a little over 6 months, it was mounted as soon as it arrived and never touched again. the screen is starting to discolor and no amount of messing with the settings myself will it go away. there is also screen burn from previous you tube videos that i have had playing. i was under the impression that qled tv's could not get burn in but apparently i was wrong. the first 5 months of owning the tv went perfectly fine and i loved it. it's been in the last month that the screen has started failing. i have switched out cords and attempted troubleshooting but nothing is working. it's been frustrating to say the least.
