The PS5 is Amazing!

I have waited two months to give an honest review of this because I have had an Xbox ever since the PS1. I love my Xbox and the performance, the PS5 had some issues for me at first in multiplayer games. Once I ran a WiFi extender and used Ethernet off of it, all the lagging has went away. The controller was hard to get used to at first but now it feels very comfortable to me and is definitely next gen. I love the PS5 for its looks, the way it performs and the remote controller. Everything about this system is great. Once I got used to the UI and the remote it is amazing. I have both the Series X and PS5, either of them are amazing, the Xbox wireless headset and Pulse 3D are amazing. You can't go wrong with either, but the controller on the PS5 is truly next gen. The Xbox controller is just comfortable in your hand. Overall, this console performs amazingly, they just need to release the storage capacity already!

Horrendous release, glorious next gen

I don't think it needs pointing out that Walmart was not the ideal place for a drop like this. Their website crashed four times in a row last Friday due to the large influx of both genuine customers excited for the next generation of consoles and opportunistic scalpers abusing the online-only release of the system due to the pandemic. I was fortunate enough to somehow stumble through the clunky and slow checkout screen at 9 PM and secure a PS5, but you can tell from the negative reviews and recent Twitter trends that not a lot of people can say the same. It's unfortunate that people take advantage of online releases like this and turn regular console releases into Supreme x North Face drops. As for the console itself, it's great. If you can manage to secure one, then great. If you want to learn more about the console, watch MKBHD's review or something. Although they're rightfully angry, the reviews on this site don't really reflect how people feel about the console, but more the release. I think this terrible online release is a byproduct of the pandemic and the console shouldn't be judged for the era it was released in.

Honest Review

I received this on December 27th but have not yet written review so i can write an honest and informative review. First off, the UI of the console is overall amazing and just like the ps4's UI, only improved. It also has very fluid dynamics and home screen music that would change depending on what game you are hovering over in the home screen. The games on the PS5 are also amazing, my personal favorite would be Spider-man Miles Morales, an open world game in which you can roam New York City freely as Spider-man, being able to do missions in which you fight villains and perform awesome tricks while web swinging. The new dualsense controller that is included in the PS5 is revolutionary. It changes the whole way you play games, for example on Call of Duty, the adaptive triggers would change intensity depending on what weapon you are using. The only problem i have experienced on this console is storage. It's simply not enough, now being 825 gigabytes, it's a step back from the PS4 Pro's 1TB of storage. With games now being 100 Gigabytes and over, you are not able to have too many games on your console. Thanks for reading!

cool

I was lucky enough to grab one at the 12pm launch. I do think that Walmart/everywhere else needed to do better to prevent the bots and scalpers from getting all of these consoles. I feel for everyone who didn't get one because of them. Anyways, the PS5 itself is awesome. Graphics and especially the controller are great. I would definitely recommend getting one but just wait until there's more. DON'T BUY FROM SCALPERS.

Great console when it isn't crashing

Walmart got the PS5 to me a day late, but I was still very excited to get into some games. Now, just one week later, I'm thinking that being on the cutting edge wasn't worth it. The games are great, graphics fantastic, but it's the *crashing*. When this console crashes, it doesn't just drop you to the menu and say, "There was an error". No, it goes to a black screen before the PS5 makes a noise like something tiny exploded, spins the fan super fast, and then just drops power entirely. Then you have to coax it back to life using the power button, sometimes multiple times, before having to go through a drive check and an error report. Honestly, I'm a little afraid to keep using my PS5 for fear that it'll brick. If you're a parent trying to appease your kids for the holidays, do yourself a favor and save it for the Spring holidays. Maybe Sony will have these issues at least diagnosed by then.

Finally Got A PS5 Console

I have brought a PlayStation Console since the PS2 they came out. This is the first time, I've had to go to so much just to get one. My teenage son wanted a PlayStation 5 for Christmas and I promised to get him one. Tried several times to get one at Walmart.com whenever they announced they were in stock. I could never get one. After doing A LOT of research, I found that I could have a better chance of getting one from Walmart.com by using their app on my phone. On December 15th, when it became available, I was on my phone and I got one immediately! So happy that the console was delivered sooner than expected. It was so easy to set up. My son has played this console daily. He LOVES it! He said that this is definitely the best one yet.

FINALLY!

I finally beat the scalpers, the trick is, whenever it says add to cart you wait until the next wave, then you move fast. Keep that payment info secure too. Really fast loading speed, I've never been more surprised by a console. It can charge iPhones, or any device that takes a USB-C cable. Very quiet, can't even tell that there's a fan in there. Be warned though, it's HEAVY.

True Next-Gen

The PlayStation 5 is truly a next-gen console. I have been a PS4 Pro user myself and we all know how difficult it was to secure a PS5 in 2020. I was fortunate enough to get one from Walmart of all places. My experience was truly wonderful. The Console is a tad bigger than the other consoles of this generation but, it performs well for its size and there is virtually no fan noise. The console constantly outputs most AAA games at 4K/60 FPS as apposed to 4K / 30 FPS on the PS4 Pro. Don't forget to upgrade your game to the PS5 version before playing (I did not do this and was playing the PS4 version of the game, LOL). The next-gen aspect of the console was indeed the DualSense controller. The best way to describe the haptics is to compare it to a fully stretched rubber band that has been strung. The vibration that you feel in the hand is so satisfying and the adaptive triggers is an added bonus to an already fantastic controller. I know many people were hating on the PS5 design but, I have to say the design did grow on me. I have my console in the tower position(vertical). So far the best game to get a feel for next-gen is Spider-Man: Miles Morales with the Performance RT option. Imagine swinging through the buildings of New York in true 4K with tiny snow particles in the air with 60 FPS smoothness and Ray Traced reflections on the glass buildings. I am super excited for what Sony has in store for it's upcoming First Party games.
