Love This Bed
Love this Air Bed. I did my research! The company that makes this bed is the forerunner to Sleep Number Beds and much cheaper! Great Quality! And outstanding customer service!
Like it so much I bought it twice!
I've had one of these dual air chamber beds for about 11 years, I've only given it up because we're moving and my current kingsize bed is too big for the room. So I'm buying the same kind only in a smaller size. I love it so much I couldn't go to any other kind of bed, I love the adjustability to customize it to my sleeping comfort. My best advice is to buy the simple bed, then stack it with mattress toppers to your comfort. I currently have a mattress pad, synthetic down topper plus a foam topper on my mattress and cover it all with the deep sided sheet. With these toppers I can rotate them, clean them and replace them if I need to, unlike a mattress with a pillow top built in, which will eventually shift, separate and flatten out. I set it up myself, I'm an older woman, it was some work but doable. I first learned about these beds when I was a designer for a furniture store. We sold all kinds of high-end beds, but learning about this bed was a life changer. I love the fact that this is really a 'forever' bed, all parts are replaceable so you really don't have to buy another mattress in your life (unless your space needs change as mine did). I highly recommend this bed.
Poor Quality Control
It's hard to judge how comfortable a mattress is going to feel like in the long term. Almost any mattress is going to provide support and feel as comfortable as it did in the store for the first couple of months. We've been unsuccessful finding a mattress that continues to provide support after a few months of use -- much less a few years. Even the expensive brand name mattresses like Sterns and Foster developed body indentations and became uncomfortable. We've tried inner springs and foam mattresses, all of which have the same problem of sinking in too far after only a few months of use. We'd considered a Sleep Number bed but couldn't justify spending over two grand to find out if it would solve the problem. So when we found this adjustable air mattress for less than half the price we figured it was worth giving a try. The mattress came quickly -- less than a week. But when I unpacked it the first thing I noticed was black grease marks on one of the air chambers. The chamber also had a larger stain that looks like something spilled on it. Both chambers had dried glue on the outside near where the air hose connects. Other than that, the air chambers are functional and since you don't see the chambers when it's put together it's not a major problem. I just find it hard to believe the manufacturer would allow this type of sloppy work to get shipped. Another problem with this air mattress is the off-gassing of the materials -- especially the air chambers. The smell of rubber is really strong and irritates my wife's asthma even after airing it out a couple of weeks. Hopefully the fumes will dissipate soon so we can really enjoy our new mattress. Time will tell if the mattress remains comfortable but I figure this is our best bet for continued support since we can increase the pressure to make the bed firmer if needed.
Best bed yet
I did some online and in store compairison shopping and decided on the Air Bed from Sam's due to price and size of the bed. I also discussed this purchase with my back Dr. when I was trying to decide between an air bed and a memory foam bed. He recommended this one as both my husband and I have bad backs and we can adjust this to fit each of our comfort zones. So far we have enjoyed it and it is very hard to get out of in the am, as I am so comfortable and do not want to get up. I have already recommended this bed to coworkers and friends. Was delivered in a large box, very easy to put together, I was able to do so in about and 1 1/2 hours, and this inculded the frame I purchased at another stores web site.
Exceptional Manufacturer/Customer Service
Although this mattress did not work out for me (for reasons not important here as every individual is different), I felt compelled to write a review (something I rarely do) to say what a fantastic company Innomax (manufacturer of the mattress) is. From the moment my order was placed, it was clear this company really cares about their product and meeting the needs of their customers. Within 24 hours of placing the order on Sam's, Innomax left a voice message thanking me for my business and giving me an update on when I could expect shipment. As stated, although the mattress didn't fit my needs (although positive reviews indicate it works for many/most). the company representative was most gracious and accommodating in processing my return. I even received a follow up call an hour after we had hung up to let me know when I could expect the shipment boxes for packing the bed.
Great thus far
Because of multiple back surgeries over the last 20 yrs I have purchased many different kinds of mattresses. From water bed - with and without baffles to traditional and pillow tops. I had not found one that I could sleep on, much less stand up straight and walk afterwords! I purchased this bed after trying a high priced brand name air bed at a furniture store and feel that this is finally the solution to my problem. I did my research (lots of it) for many different brands of this type of bed and found this one which is better than the brand name's not only because of the sling rail system but the price! To make this equal to the name brands highest price bed I bought a 3" memory foam topper and placed it on top. Wallah...total comfort at an affordable price and if these last few nights are an indication of how well I'm going to sleep on this bed and can stand up an walk when I get up - I'm hooked for life!
Fantastic Bed At A Great Price
I'm tempted to rate this bed five stars, however, I've only had it for 10 days, so I'm going to stay conservative at four stars. Since I did a lot of research and found the reviews on this page valuable, I'm going to provide as much detail as possible in hopes that it will be helpful to someone else who is thinking of buying this bed. -I purchased the King Size Princeton airbed -The bed was delivered within 3 days of purchase to my home -There were two boxes; one for the bed and one for the pump (One box was about 12”x12”, the other was approximately 3'x4') -All parts were in pristine condition -Instructions say to let the pump sit in the bedroom for 24 hours to acclimate -The bed was easy to assemble – It took about 1.5 hours to put it together -I bought a “bed bridge” which is an inexpensive foam pad that fits between the two air chambers to prevent rolling into the middle of the bed. Not sure it was needed, but it was easy to place between the chambers and zip the mattress cover up over it. -Since I specifically didn't want a pillow top bed, I purchased a “loft” or fluffy mattress pad that easily slips over the mattress and is washable. This pad was $50.00 compared to the $250.00 upcharge for a pillow top version of the bed. It adds to the overall high-end feeling of the bed. -I purchased a steel platform bedframe with 14” clearance from the frame to the floor (there are no box springs included with this bed) -I also purchased risers to raise the bedframe, so that the bed is higher -A bed skirt with an 18” drop works perfectly and there's plenty of room to store items under the bed -The pump is fairly quiet -There are two remotes that are wired, light weight and easy to use -Settings go up to 50 for a full air chamber -When you reduce the setting, the number flashes on the remote and lands on a final number after air goes out of a chamber. I think this can be confusing to some people. Truthfully, you could have a remote without numbers. Just set it until you feel comfortable. -The bed has a light, “new bed” smell, but it's not overpowering and I'm sure it will go away soon -I'm still figuring out which setting works best of me, but so far, this bed is very comfortable If you're thinking about an airbed, I highly recommend this product. It's well worth the purchase price. Hope this was helpful!
Great Quality and Value
I researched air mattresses extensively before purchasing this from Sam's, and was confident I was getting the best bed for the money. After receiving it, setting it up, and sleeping on it, I am convinced I made the best choice. This bed is made of high-quality components, and was easy to assemble. As others have noted, it emits a strong manufacturing smell, so you should air it out for at least half a day before planning to sleep on it. One reason for the smell is that all the parts are vacuum-wrapped in plastic bags so that it all fits into the primary shipping box. So, all of the manufacturing fumes are essentially trapped inside airtight bags until you cut them open. One observation I'd like to share for anyone considering an air mattress: As I researched, I was torn between the different tiers of this bed (9” thick, up to 15” thick). What I found is the Innomax mattresses all use the same 6" thick air bladders. As you upgrade mattress thickness (and price), you get thicker ‘comfort layers' which set atop these bladders. So, the more additional cushioning you prefer, the more you'll need to pay. It's important that any first-timers realize these air bladders are not as squishy as ‘camping' mattresses. Because of the inner bladder design, and material the bladders are made of, the surface lacks the soft, stretchy feel of your typical camping air mattress. This is an important consideration when deciding how much comfort layer you are willing to pay for. I assumed the bladders would have as much flex as the temporary camping mattress I was using (which, incidentally, was inflated as firmly as I could get it.) But I found the Innomax bladder surface to be more stable/rigid when fully inflated. This mattress gets very firm, if needed. Highly recommended!
Great value
Sorry we have wasted over $6K in the past five years trying to get a mattress that's comfortable and doesn't leave you worn out or with more aches and pains than when you went to bed the night before. We tried the big name foam product - the one that has the young lady jumping up and down with the glass of wine on the mattress. I don't know what that has to do with getting a good night's sleep because we never did. We also went through two supposedly top quality inner spring box mattresses one of which the manufacturer admitted was bad and reufnded our money. My son recommneded this product and my wife and I decided to give it a try. What a difference!! My wife's neck isn't stiff and neither is my back and shoulder. Would recommend this product to anyone.
