Great dryer. User friendly.
(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) I've only had the LG DLE8200W for a short time, but so far I'm impressed. I've mainly been using the AI Dry setting and it has made doing laundry simple. I can put a load in, select AI Dry, and let the dryer figure out the rest. Everything we've dried so far has come all completely dry and wrinkle free without having to play around with different settings or drying times. We previously had the LG DLE7200W which also works well, but the upgrades moving to this model are nice. The capacity is a good size for our family of four, and the controls are straightforward and easy to use. I'll need more time with it to comment on long-term reliability and some of the other cycles, but based on my experience so far, the dryer has worked exactly as I had hoped.

Great purchase

I am very short so I appreciate being able to load and unload from the front. It is very user friendly and I haven't had any issues with my clothing being still wet after I run a load.

Perfect replacement for our dinosaur dryer

The LG ThinQ app allows for extra smart features that you can control from your phone. You can control the dryer cycle, energy monitoring, remote control, push messages, smart diagnosis, and settings. Other functions, for those with little kids and those that like editing the end cycle tones, is having a control lock and the ability to change the song that's played after the cycle has ended.

Filter will not last
Dryer performs excellent in normal mode. Energy Saver mode is not very effective. Clothes are still damp after two cycles. The sore spot is the filter. The design is highly effective with very little lint collecting in the vent pipe. Problem is hinge design. The filter has to be opened to clean it. The plastic is not a flexible enough material. Repetitive use leads to fatigue failure. Mine failed after a few months. It was replaced under warranty, but it is almost certain this will happen again. A redesign will make this dryer a 5 star appliance

I have only had this a week. I have had clothes catch at the bottom of the drum 4 times. I am very upset and worried about how it will perform in later years.
