Big upgrade

We had a much smaller, top-load washer with an agitator before this purchase. The agitator eventually broke (uncoupled from the shaft) and became a useless space-taker in the tub. Plus we couldn't wash our queen or king size comforters, had to take those to the laundromat. This LG washer is a major upgrade. Tub has ample space thanks to not having an agitator, but I haven't noticed any downgrade in the quality of the wash. We're about a month into ownership and we're only doing loads every 2 weeks now compared to maybe once a week with our previous washing machine. Loads come out looking great and mix around really well when you load the tub well (leave a hole in the middle). Even with big linens. Washer is super quiet and it's great we can see the wash while it's happening. We're very happy so far!

Awesome washer

Love the large capacity washer - lots of room to do the bedding. I can do one load where as before I had to make 2 loads. Very quite.

MY EXPERIENCE HAS BEEN AWFUL AND VERY FRUSTRATING

Following is the text I sent to a contact number I found on your website which said I would receive an instant response. Have net had a response in over 24 hours but this will answer as my experience which has been awful. Hi. I bought an LG washer model WT8200CW on Nov 23 2025 in Ottawa Ontario. The washer squeaks with each revolution of the tub whenever it starts spinning and the washer has done this since I bought it. Even though I place each piece of laundry very accurately as directed in the manual I received, the various pieces end up individually bunched up during the washing, rinsing and spinning cycles so that the drum is unbalanced and seems to rotate a bit off center even after I adjust the load back to a balanced state. It is very frustrating to have to check the washer operation every few minutes to find it unbalanced to the point I need to rebalance the items in the tub again and again so it can spin without wobbling intensely. I don't think this is a healthy way for a brand new washer to behave. Is it? Is this an indication of something not being aligned properly? Is this squeaking and wobbling normal? If not, how do I get this brand new machine replaced or fixed so it operates the way it is supposed to?

We’re truly sorry to hear about your experience and understand how frustrating this must be, especially with a brand-new washer. What you’ve described—persistent squeaking, repeated load imbalance, and excessive wobbling—is certainly not the experience we want for our customers. These symptoms are not expected under normal operation, and we appreciate you providing such detailed information. We recommend contacting LG Customer Support at 1-888-542-2623, Monday–Sunday, 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. ET, so our team can review your case and arrange proper service or discuss available options. Please have your bill of sale handy when you call. We apologize for the delayed response you experienced and appreciate your patience while we work to help resolve this matter.

Do Not Buy This Washer .Worse than Horrible!

This is, without exaggeration, the worst washing machine I have ever owned—and that includes wringer washers, front-loaders, and a tiny stacking unit that barely qualified as an appliance. If you're in the market for a washer with cavernous capacity—one that could comfortably launder a half-ton pickup and a camper—congratulations, you've found it. The 1 star is for the capacity. If, however, your goal is clean clothes, run. Run fast. Hug literally any other washer in the store for comfort. Thinking it might be user error, I tried six different detergents, plus various additives and whiteners (bleach is next, mostly out of spite). The machine burbles and bubbles enthusiastically but apparently draws the line at dissolving powdered oxy. Instead, it thoughtfully redistributes it onto your now tangled and twisted clothes in crusty little clumps at the end of the cycle. The “cleaning power” is truly awe-inspiring—our whites have gone from sparkling to a stylish shade of funeral grey, and our colors are now best described as “existentially tired.” Your laundry would emerge cleaner and brighter if you hauled it to a creek and beat it on the rocks. The manual claims this washer cleans by rubbing clothes together. That's adorable. What it actually does is bounce them gently in a few bubbles like it's afraid of offending them. I can achieve better results dipping clothes up and down in my kitchen sink. The preset cycles are etched in stone—technically adjustable, but never in a way that results in cleanliness. It's also noisy. Constantly. Loud enough that you'll wonder if it's protesting its own existence. After just six weeks, I am seriously considering gifting this machine to some unsuspecting soul and replacing it with… literally anything else. Do. Not. Buy. This. Washer. Unless, of course, you're tired of taking your truck to the car wash. And, yes, I have followed every instruction to the letter.

Thank you for sharing your experience, and we sincerely apologize for the frustration your new WT8200CW has caused. While we’re glad you appreciate the 5.0 cu. ft. capacity, we want your clothes to be just as impressive as the load size. The 'crusty clumps' you mentioned often occur when powdered additives don't fully dissolve in the lower water levels of a high-efficiency (HE) machine. We recommend placing any powders at the bottom of the drum before adding clothes to ensure they hit the water first. For deep cleaning power, try the Heavy Duty cycle with the Deep Fill option to increase wash action and water volume. We would like to investigate the noise and cleaning performance further with you. Please reach out to us at 1-888-542-2623.

We appreciate your review and are sorry to hear about this issue. Using the Tub Clean cycle once or twice a month and reducing detergent amount may help improve wash results. Thank you for bringing this to our attention.
