Great Picture, good price
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] TV was easy to set-up, finding the user manual could be easier. My disappointment is with the small number of apps offered by LG compared to their competitiors. I assumed LG would offer the same ones Roku offers when I bought the TV.
It's a good thing it's discontinued
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Horrible, worse tv ever owned. Connection sucks, Platform sucks, Internet sucks, Wi-Fi sucks, Constantly disengages from apps, The sound is lame, The remote broke right away, Won't stay connected to the Internet, The pictures in and out never stays the same. Just the worst TV I've ever owned

Wifi issues from the beginning
I had issues connecting to wifi from the beginning; however, I just assumed it was on my end. Now that my warranty is up I realize that this is a very common problem with this brand. It has dropped my wifi and cannot pick up any signal. There is no longer an option to turn on wifi. I have gone through all troubleshooting with no success. Apparently it is a faulty wifi module. I now have a useless TV as a wired internet connection is not an option for me. Well, not totally usesless I suppose….I could hook up an old fashioned antenna and get my local channels….This was a fantastic television when it worked. Had I only realized there was a problem with the TV from the beginning I could have had it repaired or replaced. If you go to the LG Community forum, you will see this is a massive problem with this brand.

DECENT TV
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have always been a fun of LG TVs, I think their TVs offer great value to consumers. The main reasons impacting the quality of the picture are that the TV doesn't have local dimming, has a less accurate RGBW pixel structure, and doesn't get as bright as other more expensive models. To improve the out-of-the-box picture quality, just set it up to Expert (Dark) picture mode and modify the settings according with the post-calibration setting suggested by rtings.com for the LG UM6900 model. My ONLY big issue with this TV is that I bought it thinking that it had an IPS panel, which it doesn't, it has a VA panel. So the viewing angle is not that good as other LG TVs that I have. The problem is that LG is not very clear about it in its web site and in the product information. As a consumer you expect that the specs for all non-size related features of a TV product series would be the same, but it is not the case with LG. For most LG TV series for which LG claims IPS panel technology, there is the exception that the 60" and 70" sizes have a VA panel instead. This is not clear in the product specs and advertisement. Very likely, I am going to return the TV and get a 65" model.
Very unhappy
I've had this tv less than 3 years and I'm having issues with the tv staying connected to the WiFi. Multiple times a day I have to go into network settings and reconnect, even having to put the password in. Support had me reset the tv and it was 0 help, the problem actually got worse. I have another brand in multiple models that are 2x older than this with 0 issue

Could be smarter
I bought this TV with the understanding that it was "smart". It is but it isn't. The TV has serious remote control issues. It seems that the real control requires something called a "Magic TV remote" but it doesn't come with one and the website doesn't tell you which one works with it. The web site is a joke, you can't go to the TV and find accessories, you have to go to each remote and determine that it is the wrong one. So, no knowing how to actually manage the apps. No telling how to do almost anything. Nope, not smart at all.
We are sorry to hear you are having issues with your TV. As per the specifications, the 49UK6090PUA is Not Compatible with any Magic Remote Control and it does state the remote for your unit is the Standard Remote (AKB75375604). If you are in need of help operating the TV, we are always happy to help. I'm glad this tv is discontinued
I'm glad this tv is discontinued because it's the last time I'm buying another LG TV. As a matter of fact I probably won't buy another LG product. This tv gets disconnected/connected multiple times a day through a wired LAN. Also won't connect through wifi. To get it to connect I have to unplug my modem/router for 1 minute and plug it back in. If I'm lucky it will stay connected for a few days through wifi or wired LAN. Sometimes it'll stay connected to a wired LAN or wifi for maybe a day. Then it'll pop up on screen again wired LAN disconnected/connected multiple times a day. Making watching TV an annoyance of those pop ups. Also tv says wifi is off. How can you turn wifi on or off on this tv? Because you can't. I believe the internet connection issues has to do with the tv, not my internet because the mobile tv on feature never worked either when I got the tv 4 years ago.
We appreciate your feedback, and we're sorry to hear that you had a negative experience with your LG TV. Your feedback helps us keep fresh perspective regarding new ways to improve our services and future product developments. ^Nikki
WiFi connectivity
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The picture and sound are great but the wifi keeps failing. While other TVs in our home have no issue with the wifi, this tv can't pick up any wifi signals from my router or mesh system. I moved the wifi satellite system next to the tv and still would pick up any signals. It makes this tv useless as a “smart tv” since you can't use any of the apps since it can't connect to the internet.
Hi. We understand you're having Wi-Fi connectivity issues in your TV and would like to assist! First, please turn off the Quick Start feature in your TV, as this is known to cause issues with wireless connectivity in your TV. Please go to Settings > All Settings > General. Select Quick Start to turn the feature off. Unplug the TV for 1 minute, then plug it back in. Go to Wi-Fi settings, find your Network name / SSID, and connect to it. We hope this resolve the issue, however, should you need further assistance, please reach out to us via PM on Facebook or via DM on Twitter at the handle @LGUSSupport. It would be our pleasure to help reach a resolution to this issue! ^Chris
Amazing TV!!
I bought this TV just over a year ago. One of the best purchases I've ever made. Amazing picture and sound quality. I connects to the Wifi INSTANTANIOUSLY!! All the smart apps run super smooth. Wether I'm streaming a 4K video on youtube or a movie on Netflix, it's as if the content is already downloaded on to the TV. Never lags and the NEVER cuts out!!! Also one of the more cost effecient TV's on the market. I definetly recommend this TV!!
Disappointed
I am two months shy of three years with this TV and the picture is terrible. The picture is no longer bright and colorful. No matter what picture mode I set it on the picture is grayish and the whites are dull and have a purple color. I assume the pixels are going out and that should not be happening on a tv less than 3 years old. I'm heading out to buy a new TV today and it won't be a LG.
Let us help you with that Tonia. Please send us a private message on Facebook or Twitter using @LGUSSupport and include #VOC, your name and model # and we would be happy to troubleshoot the issue or set up repair if needed. Thanks. ^Jennifer
