My 20 y.o. Flowtron"s motor burned out so I researched and bought this. Quite easy to assemble and shreds quickly and smaller pieces than I was used to - think this .10 string is surprisingly better than Flowtron's .08. Also loved the Walmart price. It has been run ~ I hr. Would buy again but wish 1) there was provision (at least a hook) for storing string, googles, etc., 2) the outside dimension was a bit wider so the legs cleared my 30 gal trash can, 3) the depth is quite shallow vs. Flowtron so is easy for fingers to inadvertently hit the string, and 4) the motor extending below the shell so if using without legs, it will rest on the motor housing rather than plastic shell. It is a shame these issues exist, but I sure like everything else so far.

I have used this item three times this season. Each session lasted about 3 hours. The leaf mulch created when mixed with soil and perhaps some aged manure will negate the need for me to outlay money for mulch and/or topsoil. Also, easy to assemble and appears to be hardy although lightweight. A solid value in my opinion!

DOES A REALLY GOOD JOB ON LEAVES. NOT SO GOOD ON PINE STRAW. MY YARD IS MIXED LEAVES AND STRAW. A LARGE HANDFUL WITH LOTS OF STRAW HAS TO BE PUSHED IN, TENDS TO PACK AROUND THE EDGES IF FED TOO FAST. STRING WEARS FAST IF ANY STICKS GO THROUGH. I RAKED A PILE AND PLACED UNIT NEXT TO IT. LOTS OF BENDING CAUSED NEXT DAY BACK PAIN. IF ONLY LEAVES, 5-STAR FOR THE PRICE. CUTS TO SMALL PIECES, REDUCED VOLUME, GOOD FOR MULCH. VERY SMALL CHANCE OF HITTING A FINGER. RAN LOTS THROUGH, HELD UP WELL, LOOKS LIKE IT WILL LAST.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've used it for 3 days, only went thru string once and its' already blew up. First it overheated and would not shut off, after letting it cool and cleaned it out filter and all and the motor dulls out. Total waste of my money.

Used this yesterday. Worked great. Ran it for a good hr with no interruptions at all. We live in a cul de sac and we get the whole streets leaves blow into our front yard. I raked the leaves and put them in the unit while wifey pushed the leaves around to be better sucked into the mulching area. It is noisy and dusty, but not unbearable. We filled two big black garbage bags which almost filled our green city leaf container. We would have had to make 3-4 more trips to rake all the leaves into our city container but not now... we left some because we knew we had more leaves heading our way... It never quit on us once... and we didnt even have to renew the cutting twine, with all those leaves... I highly recommend this...

creates wonderful milch from dried leaves, much better tjan mulching mower.

Worked well for a week and then died. I was using it as advertised not adorable project... Durable product.

I get a ton of leaves every fall and this product has made it so much easier to mulch and remove the leaves.

The first unit lasted about two hours, then wouldn't restart. The Mfg. replaced it. The second unit failed in less time. That was also replaced. The next unit lasted about 15 minutes and died. That's three in a row that failed.

Very satisfied with the product. The item shut down during operation. Checked the Owner's Manual. It said the machine will restart after one minute cool down. Ite took over 5.
