I bought this smoker about a month ago and I've used it 4 times. It works great. I've never smoked anything before so it was very nice not having to tend to a fire to keep a constant heat. The meat probe is a great feature and so is the Bluetooth capability. I had heard some smokers come with temperature gauges that are not totally accurate but I verified the meat probe with 2 different thermometers made by different companies and they all read within two degrees of each other. The light is also a great feature but it should be noted that it is located outside the door seal of the smoker so it only illuminates the inside when you have the door open. This may sound silly but if you think about it, if it was inside the smoker it would get covered in grease and smoke stains anyway and it wouldn't work. My only complaints about the smoker are the following: the wood tray is very small. I find you really need to watch the smoke output and add new chips every 20-40 minutes depending on what brand chips you are using and how large they are. Also the instructions/owner's manual is not very good. It's great for the assembly portion but it doesn't tell you how to pair it to Bluetooth, it simply says “follow the directions in the app” and it doesn't give you instructions on how to really use the smoker in terms of letting it get to temperature and then making sure you have water in the pan and how open the vent on top should be etc. it's worth mentioning the instructions in the app did not work to pair my smoker to Bluetooth. I had to look at a forum online that said some older models used a different pairing method and that one worked.

I simply Love Everything about this Smoker. Having a little trouble loosing Bluetooth feature at less than fifteen feet away. Heats up Quick and Temp is right on with my instant read probe. First Pork Butt yesterday in 20 degree weather with 20-30 mpg wind. Worked Great with no temp drop. This is my second Masterbuilt Smoker. Had a 30 inch for 10 years. Smoked so many things from Hot Dogs to Turkeys. I finally wore it out. If this Smoker gives me the Service and I think it will I'll be a Happy Smoke Master. Very Well Made and Great controls. Love it so far.

Easy to use and smokes to perfection. Meat comes out juicy and tender. I'm no pro but with this I can pretend to be and nobody knows the difference.

The smoker smoked the meat but it did not make the chicken skin crisp. The skin was soggy and fatty. I cooked it a long time as directed but it just didn't do wht I expected.

Love it. the only problem is the Bluetooth constantly disconnects. I deleted the app and reinstalled still didn't help. I also unplugged the smoker overnight to reset still didn't help.

The 3rd 40" I've purchased. A couple design change comments. Pros - Good move on making the element 1200 watts. Pre-heats quicker, keeps the chips smoking throughout the cook. Cons - The chip tray is too small for long cooks. I'm guessing you encountered fires when you added the hotter element, so you had to limit the amount of wood for safety reasons. Not fond of this, but I get it. Also, I might be wrong, but it seems as though you changed the wall insulation, especially the back wall. Doesn't hold heat like the old ones. I live in MI and smoke all winter, so this is important. Neutral - Bluetooth controller, as with all manufacturers, they work fine as long as you're in the vicinity. Rumor has it, that as a company you're switching your focus away from what made you what you are(electric smoker co). Word on the street is you're focus is now on the gravity feed. Personally, bought one, used it once, returned it. I've noticed it's hard to get accessories for the electrics these days. For ease of use and great smoke flavor, electric is the way to go, in my humble opinion.

We had a smaller masterbuilt smoker for over 6 years and loved it. After the first use of this new smoker (at double the cost of the old one), we are getting a ERR1 error so evidently the thermostat probe has already gone bad. UNBELIEVABLE!!! We have a house of people coming over and have to fire up our old smoker to get the food done. This is unacceptable poor quality and we will never buy this brand again.

First time smoker and the MES 340G has been a lot of fun to use and has produced excellent meals so far! First, putting it together was easy. I had no issues what so ever assembling the product, which there really was not much to do. It took me and my son just about 30 minutes to do and followed the directions step by step. We broke the smoker in as suggested and tossed some wings in there as well... figure why not! (Tasted oh so good!) Since then, very easy to maintain, clean and cook great meals. Temp. maintains setting and the app is really nice to have while smoking during cold Ohio winter days. Highly recommend for first timers like me and perhaps seasoned smoker vets as well. Looking to buy this exact same one again as I will likely "loan" this one to my son. Only downside (that will not prevent me from buying again) is 1 probe, no other ports for additional probes.

Brought this for my husband and he loves it. The only thing I wish is that you could turn it on from the app. Aside from that it's great!!!

I purchased this smoker recently and have used it 5 times. All food is great, really tender with a tremendous taste.
