Last minute addition to a Christmas list. Thankfully they had expedited shipping with FedEx. I can't fault them for shipping in the product box which doesn't hide the contents but my boyfriend spotted the box 3 days before Christmas. I'm actually glad he did because I didn't know the smoker had to be assembled & seasoned. He was excited for both. Assembly took maybe an hour or so out in the garage....no tools went flying and I didn't hear any cursing so I'm gonna say it went well. The initial seasoning went well and I appreciated the box of chips it came with. Christmas Day we did 2 chickens...turned out amazing. The racks all fit in the dishwasher for easy cleanup. The smoker comes on wheels so easy to roll back inside the garage. Also came with a cover. We live in snowy conditions so now we can smoke during the winter without freezing to death. Bluetooth actually worked (because technology is never our friend) and the temperatures were accurate. Great product!

Yo, if your into smoking, this is the Ticket! I upgraded from the 30" without the stand or wheels & it is a must as you get older & harder to bend all the way to the ground. With the 40" on wheels & stand, Light, Blue Tooth & Meat Probe, it upped my game to a Pro! I also added the Side Smoker, which does Cheese & Poppers out of this world! I loved this so much, I ordered a 2nd one for my Son & a 3rd one for a co-worker! They call it MASTERBUILT for a Good Reason!

Being a smoker fan, this is my first electric. Overall, I am very pleased. Temperature control very good, I like the app. Temperature probe is good, even though I do use additional probes. Slide out racks very good and easy to clean, great quality. Good and nicely designed water pan. Only one negative and that is the smoker capacity, just doesn't provide enough smoke time for longer smokes. Needs to be refilled every 30 minutes which defeats the ability to walk away and let the smoker smoke. To remedy, I purchased the A-MAZ-N 5x8 smoker tray which has worked out perfectly for smokes over an hour. An hour or less I do use the built in smoker which does provide very good smoke results. Even with the smoke issue for me personally, I will give this a rating given new month of use.

I got this smoker for my husband for Christmas. You might say it was really for the whole family. I can't say enough about how easy this is to use. Neither of us has ever used a smoker but our son is in college in the south and we got exposed to the taste. This is literally foolproof and it runs on an app from your phone. We used it for the first time the day after Christmas and it was freezing outside. We didn't have to leave the house until the probe in the meet told us when it was done!! FROM MY PHONE. Our first attempt was Ribs Chicken thighs for nachos Mac and cheese with bacon (recipe on their site) Cod Chicken wings Blackberry cobbler Everything was cooked to perfection. The Mac and cheese was to die for. I have to admit that I didn't love the blackberry cobbler but others did. I guess it's a matter of taste. The smoker comes with a cover which got lost in the mail and customer service quickly shipped out another one. I am not sure if we will grill again and this device is 1/2 the price of a grill. I think everyone at our party (Clemson vs Ohio game) will buy one. This was the beat Christmas gift ever. Thanks

This is my 3rd Masterbuilt Smoker and I am not disappointed. Already made Venison Summer Sausage and smoked kielbasa . Temps hold solid with vent on the opposite side of the heat source and the smoker holds plenty of product. Would have gone 5 stars but the spring on the latch ha popped out and I will need to contact Masterbuilt after the holidays for replacement. (Latch still works)

Got this for Christmas from my lovely wife. Have used it once, and I've never smoked before, so keep that in mind. I made a couple smoked whole chickens/pre marinated them for 24 hours. Soaked the spplewood chips in apple cider vinegar. The unit came to temperature quickly. Took about 5 hours overall to cook the meat- the built in meat thermomenter was very handy. The bluetooth connection to the app broke a few times but it was easy enough to reconnect. End result was some of the most fantastic chicken ive ever had, my nephews keep asking when ill make it again.

The smoker works great, the blue tooth does not work at all. Multiple emails like 6+ 2 phone calls on hold and even left my number for a callback, i have yet to talk to someone or get an email reply. The owners manual says to hold down temp till beep, it does, then press connect in app, the app icon just spins trying to connect and says HMMM try again. On the Bluetooth on my phone it says 0000 or 1234 pin to pair and ok. Unable to connect, if anyone knows what to do, I would appreciate it.

I used it a few times for beef ribs and chicken legs. My biggest complaint is the temperature just seem to heat inconsistently. I have seen fluctuations between 10 and 20 degrees and the android phone app seems to quick monitoring temperatures so I have to restart the app several times to get accurate temperature reading.

Having a hard time believing the temperature reading is correct. I set it to 190 and two different thermometers I use say the air temperature is over 20 degrees lower, I may ask for warranty help with this as this is why I picked electric. I want to set it at the 190 and have the chamber be rather close to 190. The meat probe is within 2 degrees of my thermapen, I can live with that. The door gasket leaks smoke out near the top and paint appears to be coming off where the smoke hits the black surface above the door.

After assembling, the smoker did not work. Called manufacturer and they offered to send the “body” and have me rebuild the product. Why am I punished because of the manufacturer's error?
