The IGEN 4500 has a lot of nice features, relatively quiet, dual fuel, remote control and that is why I purchased it. HOWEVER it also has reversed polarity, meaning the neutral terminal is hot and the positive terminal is neutral! That is an electrocution or at minimum a shock waiting to happen! My remedy was to build 2 special short extension cords, one for the 30 amp outlet and another for the 20 amp outlet. With both I wired the plug "reversed" so the outlet end would have correct polarity and at the same time I bonded the neutral and ground. If you don't have an Electrical Management System, bonding is not necessary. Earlier reviews complained of the outlet being upside down for RV plugs but that has been corrected. Apparently they just turned the outlet 180 degrees and that could cause the reversed polarity or perhaps it has always been a design flaw! If this generator was wired correctly I would give it 5 stars but because of the inherent danger I gave one.

I was a little concerned with the smell of gasoline when I opened the box but I added oil, connected a propane tank and it started right up with the press of a button. Quieter than expected and the digital display is great. Only ran a quick test with a fan and a light but had no issues. Mainly purchased to have in case of a power outage but excited to try hooking it up to the RV.

So far this generator has exceeded my expectations. I got this to replace a never-quite-worked-right prior generator and it's so far working quite as expected. I'll know better come the winter months and the days of unending cloud cover (happens a lot here in Colorado) of course. It's a bit heavy and difficult to get it into place, but I eventually got it sorted properly. The cover will be good to keep it clean when it's not in use.

I just bought this generator for camping. My plan is to only operate it on propane unless otherwise necessary. I added the required oil, connected the battery, attached the propane source and it immediately started up. It ran excellent under load.

I bought this so that I could run the air conditioner (for the wife) on really hot days while boon docking. Also needed it to run the coffee maker. Bought the one with remote so I didn't have to go out in the rain or after dark to start it. Happy wife Happy life.

I purchased this generator on 6/7/22, but received it on 9/2/22. Even though delivery took 3 months, I am very pleased with the generator so far. I purchased it in planning for any/all future power outages. Now, I feel much more secure knowing that my family and I are prepared for those eventualities.

My igen1100dfc was installed 1 month ago and did the 5 hour break-in with no problems. The generator is very quiet, holds the house power requirement without any problem.i did have a CO problem with the sensor shutting me down after 2 hours. I solved the problem with installing fans in my generator house. Other than the listed problems ran great.

Just got this unit and have not used it much, but so far i like it. Not quite as quiet as a Honda but almost. I like the remote start and the cost compared to other brands. I can't wait for camping season to come again so I can put it to use powering my fifth- wheel trailer. This is the main reason I bought it. So far so good.

I just bought this generator this month and set up was easy. I set it to run with propane gas and it started very easily/ no issues and I was very happy with how quiet it runs. I use it to power a portable A/C unit and it has been great. I have ethanol free gasoline in case I want to use it. Hurricane season is here so it's great to have peace of mind with this generator.

So far the inverter runs great even with a large load. I connected fluke meters to monitor the voltage and amperage while running a Ridgid Pipe threader as I threaded a piece of 1 1/2" conduit and the voltage was very consistent while the unit was about half loaded.
