Runs great

I use generators all day 4-5 days per week to power my mobile grooming trailer and recently made the switch to these and I'm overall impressed so far. My one and only complaint so far is that you have to turn the battery switch off at the end of every day or it drains the battery and you can't start the generator. This is the only brand I've ever had to do this so obviously it's taking me a little while to get used to remembering that it's switched off every day, but other than that it has been great so far.

dual fuel capability and flexibility

I purchased this generator for emergency home back up given the history of our local grid in the past and my prior history with hurricanes in the past while living in Florida. I researched this product carefully and was attracted by it's dual fuel capability, electric starting , relatively quiet operation , and especially it's reasonable size and mobility. It was delivered promptly, well packed and with complete set of instructions. I have not run it yet but I plan to test it's capabilities soon.

Awesome Generator Even With a Few Bugs to Work Out

I bought this generator a year and a half ago, and it has worked great for me on propane! Unfortunately, I never tried to run it on gasoline until a few months ago and it wouldn't start no matter what I tried. Looks like I'm not the only one with this issue so I'll get it in to be repaired. While I was researching the issue though, I found that there's an active recall for my serial number anyway, so hopefully it will all get worked out. It's been awesome on propane though and runs everything I need in my RV! Just hope to get it in for the bugs to be worked out.

Well made, easy to use

Incredible craftsmanship. Started immediately out of the box. Very intuitive and easy to use. It is incredibly quiet! The dual fuel feature is quite nice, especially when a hurricane may render gas stations useless... plus propane in a tank can be stored much longer than gas in a can. Highly recommend!

Very Nice Unit

I'm new to generators, but felt compelled to buy one after Pacific Gas and Electric developed a policy of cutting power to prevent wildfires. This is for emergency use only, or for when the power is cut for an extended time. I chose this unit because it has the power I need, and it is dual fuel. I don't have have any gasoline tools, and don't want to store gasoline to run a generator infrequently. So, I was very attracted to the propane option on this unit. Also, this is an inverter generator, supposed to be safer for modern electronics... so everything in the house. I've tested this unit on everything in the house, from refrigerator to running our furnace. It does everything except power our 220 Volt appliances. One item that does bother me, and again I'm new to this: the 30 Amp plug is a TT-30r, not the more common LS-30, seen on most of the other generators I looked at. I guess this generator is designed more for use on travel trailers than as household backup. Finding a cord with TT-30p on one end, and household-plug on the other seems impossible; I had to by an adapter. I wish that Westinghouse supplied this adapter, or an optional replacement plug for this generator.

Good brand light weight

I am older man and was shopping for generator that was eaisr to handle. Purchased the Westinghouse iGen4000Dfc love the big top carry handle and weight 68 lbs. Broke in for 5 hours at less than 50% load ran perfectly. Connected my 30amp rv ran every appliance in including air conditioner. Very impressive quality of generator even the user's manual is high quality glossy paper and very well written. This is testament to Westinghouse quality and pride they place in their products. Don

Beefy generator

I bought this generator at the beginning of 2020, used it many times, worked flawlessly. Always ran on propane. There was a recall due to gasoline leakage, and Westinghouse paid to have mine shipped back, and sent me a brand new one. Now the new one, I expect, will be as flawless as the other one. Powers everything on my RV with power to spare. Very happy with it.

Compact with enough power to serve as a backup

After carefully looking over numerous generators, I decided on the Westinghouse IGen4500DFc. It shipped from Ohio to Maine in two days and was delivered without issue. The generator with attached wheels, pullout handle and two carry handles made it easy for me to bring it up my steps and into the home by myself. When I did take it out of the box all looked good but I realized that I had received the Igen4500DF and not the DFc which includes a CO2 sensor but is otherwise identical. I sent an email to the seller that same day to request support and received a response from Westinghouse Outdoor Power Equipment within 1 hour, and it was a Friday and Veterans Day to boot! A resolution was offered that satisfied me and I kept the IGen4500DF. My primary reason for going with this generator is for the ability to use propane as the primary fuel source and gasoline as a backup. It will be used primarily during power outages to power up my mobil homes furnace, refrigerator, some lights and misc small appliances. The clean power produced by this inverter generator ensures that I can power up my personal computer and smart tv with no worries. I have 2 30# and 2 20# propane tanks that will store indefinitely versus the limitation of storing gasoline. My advice, as everyone's situation is different is to carefully consider how you will use a generator and buy what will do the job without buying bigger than you need as bigger is heavier and in the case of inverter generators more expensive for sure.

Great unit

Arrived promptly and in mint condition, assembly was straightforward but there was too much oil which spilled on my driveway and that was frustrating since the instructions say to put the entire oil container in and there's way too much. Started on first try, works as promised. I did a good amount of research and so far, I am very pleased with this unit. I bought it as backup for some essentials - 2 fridges, phone and computer chargers but it can handle a HELLUVA lot more. I love the economy mode and the dual fuel was imperative given the shelf life & negligible maintenance of propane vs gasoline. The peace of mind of just having this unit which is very space efficient especially given its capacity and all the features is invaluable, especially in these uncertain times. Highly recommended.

Very quiet! Great features

Bought this back in October, 2021 to avoid another potential ice storm in Central Texas like in 2020. I have used the more conventional generators in the past for various events like for bouncy houses and P/A systems. Finding where to put those generators was always difficult as they were so loud. When I fired up the iGen4500 for the first time to do the initial 'burn-in', I thought maybe something was wrong how quiet it was and it wasn't even in eco mode. I read up on the benefits of an inverter generator but hadn't used one yet so I was happily surprised I wouldn't be keeping the neighbors up if we needed to run it later in the evening. I haven't had to use it with large equipment needing more power yet, the first will be in the spring (unless we hit another ice storm first). I chose the dual-fuel model as I prefer propane over regular gasoline. Easier to store and doesn't need any additives like stabilizer. Having it's own start-up battery was the final pro that convinced me. Reading that the battery will charge while the generator is on is an added bonus. I have a gas-powered pressure washer and I'm constantly having to remember to charge it before use or having to deal with the pull string. Inverter generators are known to be lighter in weight. It's still a combustible engine , with a built-in battery, so it still has some girth to it. I recommend two people to lift it up. The extendable handle works great and it's easy to move around. As I mentioned, I haven't had it very long with minimal use but extremely happy with the purchase!
