- 5 out of 5 stars review9/30/2019Only dual-fuel generator with remote start. Feature rich; (electric start, included battery charger, allows switching between propane and gasoline while running, has load indicator, hour log, etc. Tested running 2.5HP 10in wet saw, angle grinder, shop vac, and various other appliances at same time. No problems.
Best combination of features and value.
Bob925Originally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review7/6/2021Generator was super simple to set up and came well packaged. Starts up first try with no issues. Lots of great features making this very handy to have around the house along with small and simple to take on the go in the RV. No issues running the A/C unit in my RV as it has plenty of power.
Easy to use
Yoda33Originally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review7/15/2021I have a camper that we have started using on a farm where generators are the only source of power. I initially borrowed several inverter gens between 3000w and 3500w and seemed to have some issues with each one. I then purchased a 9500w powerhorse. It worked great and had plenty of power, but I couldn't hear myself think because it was so loud. After a year of that, I recently purchase the 4500 duel fuel. It did not seem to run right at first, like the choke was stuck on, but I did some research and saw that there have been some issues with the automatic choke not being plugged in at the wiring harness. It seems like this has been an issue based on other reviews. It took 5 minutes to fix that based on watching a youtube video and it...
Very Impressed
Josh M GOriginally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review8/10/2021After this last winter of no power for 5 days, we bought this generator just in case it happens again. It is easy to setup. My only complaint was where you hook up the propane connection was not clear. Other than that, very easy to setup and get running.
Ready For Power Failure
Jerbob1949Originally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review1/31/2021I bought the iGen4500DF after a long time of research and have to say Im very happy with all the features, quality and design. Just put the oil, connect the battery cables and press the push start button and started without any issues. I only used it with propane to this date. You will be surprised how quiet it is. Everything needed was included except the gas obviously.
Impressive
TainoOriginally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review12/31/2021This is the quietest generator I've ever been around, even with a metal lean-to roof overhead and a few feet from a wall on one side and a fence on the other. I've used it only with propane so far, for which it ran great. Changing the oil mildly annoying since it's in an enclosed space but that's just the way these closed frame generators are. I would buy a second one if I have a need for another in the future.
Met all my lofty expectations
Micah2Originally posted onwestinghouse.com - 4 out of 5 stars review9/15/2021The unit arrived in good condition, was easy to setup and get started. The battery for the electric start was even charged. The display is nice to see fuel level, power output, voltage etc. Having the 30Amp camper receptical eleiminates one more adaptor, nice. Fairly quiet for its power output.
Nice Unit
Tony BOriginally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review5/28/2021I ordered this generator primarily for my RV. I needed quiet and enough power to run a 15K BTU AC unit. I wanted the dual fuel and remote start. This delivered all I wanted and more. Super easy to set up and it started right up. After running it for a little while, I connected my RV and was not disappointed. It ran the AC, water heater, TV and microwave all at once. I heard it ramp up as I was adding load, it it quickly settled at a very pleasant rpm and decibel level. I would not feel bad about running this unit at a campground if electricity was not available. I cant imagine how I could be more pleased with this generator. Maybe if Westinghouse figured out how to automate the gas valve on my propane tank so I could completely ...
Everything I wanted and more!
NewtothisbrandOriginally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review11/29/2023Just received my IGen4500DF. Generator was well packaged and contained all required items needed (oil, oil filler, battery charger and LP hose and regulator asm) to n xl ding remote. Unit is ready to go after adding oil, plugging in battery and adding gas. Beautiful generator! Hoping it lasts a long time!!
Sweet Generator!!
Marsht01Originally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review5/19/2022I bought this a little over a month ago and the flexibility of gasoline or propane is great. The generator was easy to set up and both fuel types work equally well. This sits well in the truck bed (locked in) and produces plenty of power. Highly recommended.
Great for RVing
GScott55Originally posted onwestinghouse.com - 4 out of 5 stars review5/11/2023We purchased this generator as first time travel trailer owners. We wanted something versatile that we could use in the event of planned PG&E power shut offs at home too. This generator has checked all the boxes and then some. Remote start is super convenient, there is a suitcase handle for easy relocation and the dual fuel feature is super convenient.
Great Buy
CWebsterOriginally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review4/1/2024Received the product a week ago and found it very easy to setup and use. I love options and this generator has them. Options for fuel, options on how to start, options on how to transport. And I love easy. As this was the first generator I've ever used and I'm far from handy, I was very happy and the ease of setting this up. I did not put enough in at first so the generator was shutting down right after start up. The safety feature worked ;) The one thing I though could be made easier was the small oil measuring stick. I found it difficult to read the levels.
Easy Setup - Easy to move around
Laura AnnOriginally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review9/3/2021I haven't started it yet but unboxing it has been fine. It was shipped with good packaging to protect it. Only one cosmetic blemish on the front cover but it's a generator and I'm sure it will get plenty more bumps and bruises. Looking forward to using it on our RV soon.
Liking it so far
B-RyeOriginally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review2/11/2024Unless I missed something I did not find instructions for setup and break in procedure. It came with oil easy enough just be careful when filling, mine obviously had some oil left in it because it over filled and about 4 oz's leaked out. The remote is clipped onto the recoil cord. Connecting the battery needed channel locks, very tight. Charge the battery through plug in on control panel. Have it running my smoker right now, runs great.
Quiet runs great
Deerslayer65Originally posted onwestinghouse.com - 4 out of 5 stars review9/2/2021Product is what I expected and when it was all hooked up it started on the second try. Like the LED read out but can get the hours read out to work. Everything I expected and looking forward to years of use. Nothing requiring immediate attension. except... Recieved product a little beat up but not so much I would reject. Even opened the box to look for the obvious and found none. After installing the battery I notice the front panel screws were not all the way "in" and appears that they had work done after left the factory..Partly stripped Phillips screws. No way to prove but may need some QA at the factory. The issue was they were cross threaded. Took out, chased them and reinstalled OK. Instruction to hook up propane non existe...
Good control panel but instruction manual wanting
ECJC60Originally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review1/26/2024I bought this a couple weeks ago and it arrived on time. It was packaged very well as to not get damaged during shipment. I followed the manual and initial start up procedures and it started and ran with zero issues. I followed the break in procedure and now im just waiting for summer to use it for our camper.
Everything I needed!
RidgeRunnerX14Originally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review4/3/2022My husband and I purchased this generator to use while camping in areas without hookups. We also wanted something we could use as a backup should our home power go out. We just received it a couple days ago, so have not had opportunity to give it the full test yet. It arrived in beautiful shape and extremely fast! My husband was very pleased with how easy it was to setup. When he pushed the start button, it fired right up. We plugged it into our RV first thing and everything worked that we turned on. Can't wait to hit the hills!!
Just what we were looking for!
Dewey57Originally posted onwestinghouse.com - 4 out of 5 stars review7/31/2021Runs our AC and microwave at the same time. I like the wheels and the suitcase handle which makes it easy to move. Had no startup problems, perhaps they have finally been resolved. Fit and finish is just so-so, but that is all cosmetic, what is more important to me is performance. The owner's manual is a cut above what we receive nowadays. I see the issue with the oil drain, but I recently purchased an oil extractor and so I had no mess. If you have several small engines, that is the way to change oil. I'm satisfied so far.
Fits the RV needs.
MickyOriginally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review11/12/2019I bought the igen4500df due to California's power outages. What a life saver. It ran my refridg, small appliances, tv and fan. I'm sure I could have run more but am new to generator life and wanted to stay cautious. I over filled the oil so I had a small mess to clean. Noise is not too bad and fuel lasted much longer than I thought. I used propane rather than gas to save needing to run the excess gas out. I highly recommend the igen 4500. More than enough power.
dependable unit
lindaj51Originally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review12/9/2021I tested this unit with propane and I was pleased. Quick start and ease of maneuvering with the extendable handle are very nice. I like the economy switch allowing the generator to adjust itself to the load. I connected it to a 1500 watt oil heater and adjusted its settings and I could hear the generator adjusting its power. The remote control key fob is a nice feature also.
Solid Performer
