- 4 out of 5 stars review4/25/2021Easy to prep for first run. Started easily. I like the battery trickle charger. Over all very nice unit. The reason I gave this unit a four is that it louder the specified. Specified as "as low as 52db" but un-loaded with eco-mode on I measured 75db at 6ft
Worked with no issues
JD11Originally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review12/11/2023I purchased it on the Nov 30,2023 and it arrived on Dec 7,2023. Bad weather did not let me start it until Dec 11,2023. I put oil in and connected the battery, it started first time so I ran it for two hours. Ran it with a hair dryer plugged in, and everything worked perfectly. I used a magnetic oil plug and Synthetic oil. The box it came in had a couple small marks on it, but the product was in perfect condition when I removed it from the box.
Very quiet, started first time
BigAl679Originally posted onwestinghouse.com - 4 out of 5 stars review4/17/2022So far so good.. purchased because I wanted remote start and duel fuel as I will only be running on propane. Set up easy and straight forward. Only problem is if you have big hands oil fill area a little tight. Generator runs everything in our 24 ft trailer. AC, microwave ,tv, wife's hair dryer, ect
Everything we needed Remote start Propane
tyedyeredOriginally posted onwestinghouse.com - 4 out of 5 stars review7/28/2021I bought this generator in May but delivery was in June. Arrived in perfect shape, Easy to set up for operation, very good instructions (unusual in this day and age) and started right up on propane and gasoline. Very quite. Even put it under load from our portable A/C and it ran flawlessly on gasoline. Unfortunately, I was shortsighted and hooked up a propane tank that ran dry shortly after start-up...my bad. Very happy with it so far. By not means lightweight but still manageable for a 70 year old. Would definitely purchase again, if fact, we are thinking of getting another and pairing them to power our 50amp 5th wheel.
So far, so good
D. J.Originally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review3/1/2022Bought this a couple months ago following the storms in the Midwest that took out power for several days. With a 40lb propane tank and running the essentials I'm getting 2 days of use on the first test run! Will be ready the next time power goes out!!!
Great option as a backup power source
ZamoasmittenOriginally posted onwestinghouse.com - 4 out of 5 stars review7/10/2024I liked some features I didn't expect: a drain hose for oil drain, a fuel drain hose for the carb float bowl, a threaded funnel for the oil fill, and a fuel spill ramp surrounding the gas cap. The generator was well packaged and easy to put into operation. Quieter than most comparable generators. I am still stumped by the remote start. But I'll figure it out.
Better than I Expected
SpearheadOriginally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review9/26/2019Building an off-grid cabin in West Texas. This generator will be used as back-up to my solar array. The unit is well built and performs as advertised. Quiet and, so far, 100% reliable. Initial startup was on propane. Switching to gasoline and back again was seamless. The dual fuel capability is a big plus.
Solid investment
NORRDOGGOriginally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review3/23/2022Very pleased with this generator, definitely an upgrade for us to use with our RV. Electric start worked well, and started first push of the button. Generator runs well and is pretty quiet. The electric/remote start and the option to use propane were big factors in our decision. Have run the generator a few times with a variety of loads and am mostly through the break in period. Looking forward to lots of use when RVing this summer.
Great RV Generator
warnorOriginally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review8/26/2021I did a lot of research before deciding to purchase this generator. The advantages of it being an inverter type (significantly better fuel economy, less engine wear likely, clean power) made it worth the price premium above straight AC generators. Consumer Reports rated it's little brother iGen2500 generator excellent in power delivery and power quality as well as very good in noise and ease of use. I found it with excellent documentation and easy to set up. Packaging was also excellent. Propane fuel setup was straight forward. Generator started up very quickly to smooth, quiet operation. Switching to Eco Mode, engine came to an idle smoothly, very quiet - enough to get Wife's praise for getting an electric start unit! After warming it up, ...
IGen4500D:F Excellent engineering and features
LaLHOriginally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review2/10/2024Generator is much quieter than expected. It has plenty of power to supply everything I want for my camper. It is a little heavier than expected but the extendable carry handle makes it easy to move around once it's on the ground. I really like the remote operation and the dual fuel capability, that is specifically why I purchased this one over other brands.
Quiet and powerful
HobojaseOriginally posted onwestinghouse.com - 4 out of 5 stars review9/5/2021First impression of the outer box is that it was a bit light weight and I was in for some broken parts as the banding straps had cut deep into the cardboard. Opened the box to find the battery door was not attached, the battery was hanging out of the battery compartment, and the battery hold down strap near the oil fill plug. Good news is none of the parts were damaged, but reinstalling the battery hold down strap and battery is a bit tight for adult hands. Filled up with oil using the provided oil and screw in funnel, with no issues. Hooked up the propane line to the regulator and then the generator with no issues. (Generator came with a tool kit, so no need to go to the toolbox.) Turned on the propane, pressed the ON/OFF button and ...
iGen4500DF Out-of-Box First Impression
Capt.ThrottleOriginally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review12/11/2021I got this gen to power my RV. I am very impressed by the power of this generator. After the break in peiod I powered my whole trailer, I mean everything that runs on AC and DC since the inverter will run the 12 volt side. This includes my 15000 btu ac, mcrowave and a 15000 btu heater. And had power to spare and the noise leve of the gen was very quite.
Great RV gen.
Swinging SteveOriginally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review12/23/2023I bought this generator a week ago. Setup was simple. I set up for propanes. Battery was low so charged it. Then it started up with first push of the start button. I've run it twice more since and starts up every time on first attempt. So far it's a great well engineered machine. I love it!
Works like a champ
Mcs01Originally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review6/1/2021I have received this unit and love it so far. High quality workmanship. This is the only inverter gen i could find that was DuelFuel and remote start... and plenty of quite power! As I gain more time using it i can update this review. So far, no issues!
Great Features! DuelFuel and Remote start
TimmyGOriginally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review1/27/2024I bought this for a weekend camping trip and couldn't be happier. Runs very quiet, so it wasn't difficult to have a conversation with the generator running. Remote start was wonderful being able to turn on the generator in the morning without having to go outside. Would definitely recommend.
Awesome Generator
ElPharmacistoOriginally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review4/4/2021This works great for our application. Runs everything in our travel trailer that is needed for a comfortable stay and is a great unit just in case for hurricane season. Love the versatility to run on propane or gas. Super easy setup and startup. Very happy with the purchase.
Great addition!
Stephens21Originally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review7/23/2024Recently decided to upgrade from my old generator to this quiet inverter type generator for my RV. Wow what a difference! Push button start, dual fuel capable and quiet, runs everything on my RV with no problems at all. I should have done this years ago.
So easy to start and quiet too !
Clyde58Originally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review11/6/2020Really excited about this as we had a recent bad storm where gas was in short supply nice to have a second alternative that is quieter anyway. Also useful for tailgating or if I ever get into RV more. The only downside would say is that I was expecting that it was a bit quieter like a Honda 2200 that I've used in the past. At least that's what the reviews and dB ready to adjusted. It still is quite quiet compared to an open non-inverter generator. I used it with the propane, that would likely be the quietest setting. I do like that has the conservation mode for lower draw and longer use with fuel.
Great generator easy to move, dual fuel is key
KenobeestOriginally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review11/26/2019I bought this a month ago: it is very quiet, easy to use, intuitive and well made. The wheel design and handle also were well thought out. The remote start is great too. I highly recommend this for use with RV and trailers as it is quiet in parks.
Super quiet and easy to use
WineguyOriginally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review7/5/2023I appreciate how quiet it is for the size and the built-in handle and wheels makes it easy to move around. We purchased this to run a portable AC unit and refrigerator in our house as a backup power source. Being able to run with propane is a huge benefit since propane is a stable fuel and can be stored much longer than modern gas with ethanol.
Quiet
