- 1 out of 5 stars review1/15/2024Purchased new in the box. Won't idle choke problem. Choke keeps opening and closing repeatedly. Called service and after over 1 hour on hold I got a customer service rep. This rep is not a Tec support person. She had no way to transfer me to service. She took my number and here I wait for a call back this is day 2. Store I bought from refuses to take a return

d.r.j.Originally posted onwestinghouse.comeCommHello, thank you for your initial review! We would love to hear your thoughts once you have had a chance to fully utilize the... - 5 out of 5 stars review2/22/2021There aren't many options for inverter generators out there that tick so many boxes: quiet, remote start, dual fuel, and a fuel gauge all while pumping out >4000W. For us it is a great do-it-all generator for RV camping plus home backup for power outages. I really like to have the option to just use propane and leave the smelly gasoline can at home.
Best bang for the buck
Jon_Originally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review1/5/2024I own a Westinghouse iGen2500c (gasoline only) inverter generator that I bought to run my Mom's boiler water pump. It has a pull start only but starts every time. It runs very quietly and supplies well more than the boiler motor requires. This 4500DF is for my house which needs to run a 1/2hp blower motor for my forced-air furnace as well as my refrigerator. It was delivered very late in the evening so I haven't had a chance to run it. I will start it tomorrow but knowing it's a Westinghouse, I expect the quality to be 100% as good as the 2500c.
Westinghouse iGen 4500 Dual Fuel Inverter Generato
EndangeredtigerOriginally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review11/2/2020I have been waiting to purchase this generator for 6 month because everyone was out of stock. I thought about buying other dual fuel generators that were in stock but I'm glad I didn't. This generator was worth the wait with it's great power rating and features like remote start. I just took it out of the box hooked up the battery add gas and oil and it started on the first press of the button. Hooked up my propane flipped the switch and it was running on propane. What a great little generator perfect for powering my trailer.
Great Generator
GD303Originally posted onwestinghouse.com - 4 out of 5 stars review3/5/2020First time purchase of Westinghouse generator. Have had other brands. This is first with dual fuel capability which is why I bought it. Working on breaking it in right now. Set up was super easy. Have not run propane yet but will once break in is completed. Looking forward to this being our solution to portable power with our camper.
First Westinghouse Experience

Jesse63Originally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review8/10/2021Love the look! Starts up with no effort at all. Very quiet and runs my RV. I'm looking forward to taking it out for a full run. The only issue I had is one of my screws kinda stripped but it still screws in and I only have to open the side to clean the filter.
Amazing
Seahawkch60sOriginally posted onwestinghouse.com - 4 out of 5 stars review6/14/2022Just breaking it in now, but so far I'm impressed with all the features. Starts right up. All parts seem quality. Runs what I need to so far. I knocked off one star because it's louder than I expected…still way better but than my old open frame. But I have yet to measure the 54 db they claim…more like 74. Overall I'd still recommend it.
Loaded generator!
Jaybah77Originally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review8/14/2022Bought this 2 months ago to run my RV's air conditioning while boondocking in the summer. Love that it's duel fuel and has a remote to turn it on and off. Changed the oil after 50 hours use- make sure you have a 10mm wrench and elevate it or oil will get everywhere. Overall, great investment. Added a bike alarm to it and bike chain to deter theft.
Super easy and quiet
RandomSarahOriginally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review10/17/2021Bought this little power house of a generator for those emergencies that tend to pop up. Love the dual source of fuel feature (propane or gasoline). It has two outlets, but you can also plug in another extension cord to the 30-amp service. I also bought the 25-foot 30-amp 125-volt fan-style generator extension cord which allows me to drop three 15-amp extension cords off that. Perfect to keep the frig and freezer running, plus a few other appliances as needed like a coffee pot, your PC, and printer. It also has a pair of USB ports for all you gadget items like phones, tablets, etc.
All The Features In A Compact Generator
PJD-CJDOriginally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review2/23/2021Bought after an ice storm so will be prepared if I ever lose power for an extended time. Should run my 29 ft camper with ease and should be plug in and go due to the 30 amp receptacle on the front. This should meet my needs but will update if have problems.
Great features
Wildcat WillieOriginally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review7/23/2022I have only had the iGen4500DFc generator for a few weeks, but it has worked flawlessly so far. After adding the oil and connecting th battery, it fired on the 1st try with both gasoline and propane fuel. I was surprised how quite the unit is as well. I prefer the inventor closed type to the open type.
Very quite
TCUDOriginally posted onwestinghouse.com - 4 out of 5 stars review8/5/2021Just started my igen4500df up today for the first time. Everything was in the box that was supposed to be and in great condition. Generator started right up after adding oil and fuel. Also had it hooked up to propane and ran great when switching between propane and gas. A little sputtering when switching which is normal. Generator is quiet and runs great so far. Hooked it up to my Nash travel trailer and turned on the microwave and then the A/C and handled the loads great. My honda 2000 would not operate the A/C. I think this is just as quiet as the honda.
So far great
Originally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review7/16/2021Very happy with this generator. I have just used it with various load levels and it operated as expected each time. I had all lights, fans, refrigerator, microwave, tv, and air conditioner on all at the same time and the generator performed flawlessly.
UPDATE to my 7/7/2021 review
rv newbieOriginally posted onwestinghouse.com - 4 out of 5 stars review7/10/2020We were tired of frequent power outages and bought this inverter. So far it has works as expected and kept us out of the dark, powered the refregerator and small AC unit. Dual fuel is an added bonus. 17 hours of runtime used aout 25 pounds of LP gas.
Works as intended
ZZZZZOriginally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review3/25/2020Bought this to power my 5th wheel RV while dry camping. Have slow start capacitors on both 15k A/C units. After starting each separate, runs both with no problems. Very quite for a 4500. Ran gasoline thru it only once, have used nothing but propane since. Have over 400 hours with no issues.
Awesome Inverter/generator
TopDawgOriginally posted onwestinghouse.com - 4 out of 5 stars review10/12/2021I wanted a dual fuel generator with electric/remote start and this generator had the features that I was looking for. I have not had a chance to really put it to work but so far it is performing very well. The only possible negative comment I have so far would be the ease of accessibility of changing oil. This is yet to be determined since I have not changed the oil yet.
Good features
Riks69Originally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review11/17/2021Purchase this inverter generator after researching several for our Airstream Classic. It arrived in excellent condition. After prepping as instructed, connected to propane and it started immediately. Very quiet. very well made. I am very happy with the generator and looking forward to many years of use on our camping trips.
wonderful
JC and CJOriginally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review2/2/2024Just bought it and running it through its break in.This thing is great, and exactly as advertised. Access to the internals via the panels require no tools. It comes with everything needed to assemble it (all the tools/oil). The generator itself is well laid out and the stickers give you all the vital details you could ever need. Draining the oil and carb fuel (if ran on gas) will be easy as they have these little hoses with extra length to dump them outside the gen. Started on first try. Super smooth while running. Looking forward to relying on it if the need comes.
Exceeded my expectations.
