- 5 out of 5 stars review6/6/2021Very happy with this dual fuel generator. I don't plan to ever use gas, unless there is no other option. Propane won't gunk up the carburetor after long term storage. This will provide power to my freezers with more money in meat/food than the generator cost. Also plan to use with an RV and catamaran as needed for backup power.

wolfeden5Originally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review3/17/2024We recently purchased a toy hauler and had been shopping for a dual generator. We found this generator online and could not be happier. The 5000 did not disappoint! Generator started right up and put out the power it stated that it would. This generator will accompany my family on many trips to come! Great product at a great cost!
Exactly What We Wanted!
Ray CasperOriginally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review7/18/2023I spent several weeks doing my due diligence in determining what brand and module of inverter generator to purchase. I settled on this unit to over meet my needs. I need something that would handle my refrigerator and also stand up freezer with extra to support some small lights, wifi/internet and usb recharging when my electricity goes out at home. This model will that and more when the day comes. Setup was a breeze and it started on the first touch of the button. I am using propane and the connections were simple. I would recommend this unit to anyone needing a very portable and yet powerful inverter generator!
Absolutely Awesome Right Out Of The Box
JeromeGrayOriginally posted onwestinghouse.com - 4 out of 5 stars review9/24/2021I'm totally off grid, seems to be working great, I've only been using it just shy a week, but I really think the remote start is great. It took me a bit to figure out the battery charger deal, they really don't explain it to well. I'm on propane now have not tried the gas part yet, but I'm glad it's there if I need it.
Love the Remote, it's the bomb!!
ShairOriginally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review10/7/2021The quietest generator at the campsite. We use the generator to power our 27 foot air steam and also to run one of our air conditioning units on or trailer. Very simple to use and love the remote control as we start the generator while inside the camper.
Super quite
Eric COriginally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review8/31/2021I bought this to use with my RV and it works great. Runs everything in the trailer at the same time including the microwave and the A/C. I typically run it off of propane using the quick connect port that is on the side of my RV. That way I don't need to haul fuel. It is very fuel efficient on fuel and my propane lasts forever. The first time I used it on propane I just let it run so I could empty the propane tank I was using. It had less than an inch of propane left in the bottom and the generator still ran for over 4 hours. The only draw back it that it is a bit heavy. I can still lift it in and out of the truck by myself, but wish it could magically be lighter. It is very nice that it has the wheels and pull handle. Once it's...
Powerful, quiet, and efficient
CletisOriginally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review10/29/2019I needed a dependable power source during the CA blackouts. Not knowing how long they last, being able to run gas or propane is a huge plus! Gas stations need electricity also, so getting fuel could be an issue. Being an inverter, I can also charge and run electronics.
Just Perfect!
KirkdobOriginally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review8/28/2021One of the few that had ALL of the features I wanted. I wanted an inverter that runs on Propane with remote electric start, 30A RV ready rated at 4500 watts. This is the only one on the Market that I could with ALL of these features. This generator is in such high demand that I had to look around to find someone who had one in stock.
Great Features
gwthomp500Originally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review4/26/2019I purchased 2 weeks ago for my camp trailer with 30 amp plug. Worked very well. Using propane, it ran at just over 25% using the air conditioner. We haul the 24' trailer with a Yukon and did not want to haul gasoline in the trailer or the Yukon since if there was a spill the smell would penetrate and not go away. we are sooo pleased at the quiet use of the IGen4500DF Thanks
Quiet!
RifbOriginally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review4/25/2024very satisfied with purchase...the data info is great, makes staying current on maintenance easy...has been strictly running on propane. runs somewhere over 15 hours at a low/moderate load on a single 20lb. propane tank. i do not miss inhaling gasoline fumes...easy start up. only drawback is a rattle i hear from the muffler contacting the casing. otherwise a solid A.
user friendly!
100diegoOriginally posted onwestinghouse.com - 4 out of 5 stars review9/2/2021I just bought this and have ran it for the break in time. Idle fluctuated at first using gas but leveled out. Propane ran very well. Not sure how accurate eco mode is. It says it is suppose to run a minimum rpm to save fuel but there was very little difference in sound.
Good features
Miff61Originally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review9/24/2020I have been searching for an inverter type generator for some time. This model is the perfect combination of my wish list. Dual fuel so I don't have to deal with gasoline. Inverter style so it can power my sensitive electronics (it even has USB outlets). It is large enough for home emergencies and is also quiet enough to take with us on the road. This generator provides us great peace of mind.
My prayers have been answered!
Satisfied :)Originally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review4/9/2020My Westinghouse iGen4500DF generator arrived today and I couldn't be happier. I unboxed the generator and was so pleased that after following the simple to follow instructions I was rewarded with what was truly a “plug and play” setup. All it took was a simple push of the remote start button and the generator started easily and purred like a kitten. I was further pleasantly surprised by the quietness of the generator. Can't wait to give it a test run during our next power outage.
Couldn't be happier!
Sandman3333Originally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review10/23/2022I bought this unit to provide temporary power on my new home construction site. So far, so good. I've only run the unit on propane, but it's started up every time. Only comment is that I wish the provided propane hose was 2ft longer than it is. I have incorporated the generator, propane supply and accessories container onto a heavy duty garden cart. It's my "Power Wagon"!
Lots of features packed into this compact generato
jswadedfwOriginally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review6/27/2024I just unboxed this product and fueled it up - after watching a quick Youtube video, I was able to connect the battery, add the oil, and get it started! I plugged it into my camper and was thrilled to learn that it was able to power everything, including the AC, Fridge, and Lights at only 50% capacity. Very happy with my purchase and looking forward to taking it camping this weekend!
So far so good!
mikejr3b13Originally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review8/31/2021After many hours of research I found myself coming back to the Westinghouse igen4500df generator. It checked a lot, if not all, of the boxes I was looking for. - Inverter style generator? Check. - Capable of running 30 amps to power ac in camper? Check. - Can run propane OR gasoline? Check. - Wheels for easy transport? Check. - Remote start (or button, or pull chord)? Check. Really looking forward to running this during our first tailgate with the camper this weekend. Will follow up at the end of the season for a couple month follow up!
Exciting new travel trailer generator
BoilerUpOriginally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review11/3/2021I have been meaning to purchase generator for years and a recent brief power outage I finally did it. I researched my options and chose the Westinghouse 4500DF. I like the dual fuel option as I'm likely to have one or both fuel options on hand in when I need to use the generator. The set up was easy and the unit started right up. I also like that it's pretty quiet when running.
Works great
CucubearOriginally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review7/27/2022I bought this generator for our camper, we decided to go with dual fuel because if we have the option available, we would rather use propane than put gas through. We read the manuals and filled it up with oil and it started within seconds of hitting the push start. We did run it strictly by itself for an hour and changed the oil in it, per previous posts and research, glad we did, just the break-in period creating a lot of shiny metals specs in the oil. After, we hooked it up to the camper and turned on a few small things since it should only be 50% load for the first 5 hours. We did end up changing oil again and still had a good bit of metal shiny specs in the oil, so I would just check your oil often and maybe change a bit more frequently...
Great Product
DJ19Originally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review2/5/2024Bought this after an unusually severe power outage, with lots of trees down and ice storm conditions (which meant it took 6 days of below freezing temps before power restored). But this will fit the bill very well, with options for cleaner fuel, and enough outlets to be able to keep our house warmer and food preserves well.
just what I wanted
JohnEBOriginally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review5/7/2024We bought this to power our camper and to early to tell as just finished the break in period. I was a little surprised at the amount of contaminant in the oil when I changed it after break in. Actually ran under a small load after break in for 45 minutes and changed oil in between after total of 3 changes was much cleaner. Power wise broke in to the letter and it never skipped a beat used kep fob to start works like a champ. For the money this generator is a great deal majority positive reviews on this model. Will be running the camper off it here within next few days an do not anticipate any issue based on the break in period performance. Have total of 6 hours using propane, plan is to use gas, recommended by small engine repair folks no...
So far so excellent
