- 5 out of 5 stars review5/16/2024I bought this in April after an extensive review of the other options online. The inverter came in a few days and after the initial setup it started on the first try. I have not yet taken in camping but look forward to using it often. I will also serve as a emergency backup at home if needed.
First Inverter generator
kfarmerOriginally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review6/17/2024Received generator today. Unpacked and inspected looks great. Installed supplied oil, ,assembled supplied propane hose to regulator and attached to propane tank , checked for leaks . I turned switch to run ,pulled 3x and fired right up . Plugged a small load and let in run about 20 minutes. Will continue break in over next of days . So far very happy with my new generator only time will tell.
Great so far
CaptzakOriginally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review4/7/2021A required repair campaign after initial purchase was to ship the unit to Westinghouse facility. Shipped all original hardware and materials with hesitation something might be missed on return shipment. Campaign was handled perfectly with unit supplied as original purchase. Most of all, the unit performed perfectly. Thank you.
2nd Time Around
Irv_Originally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review11/23/2021Hours of researching portable generators and reading reviews from professionals and end-users narrowed my choice down to the iGen4500DF. I needed a portable inverter generator that would deliver clean AC power for my electronic devices with enough capacity to keep critical appliances in service during an extended outage. The flexibility to switch from gasoline to propane without interruption is a huge plus for me and makes it easier and safer to store enough propane for an emergency. Ran the initial break-in and performed the first oil change to get ready as needed.
Just what I was looking for
Bill393Originally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review7/15/2021It was everything I expected. No issues at all have run it with gasoline and propane. Plan to use this to power my Travel Trailer when boone-docking. Will not be able to run everything but confirmed it will run one of my two AC units and the electric water heater simultaneously. Gives me enough headroom to manage the essentials.
Works like a champ!
CyberCopOriginally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review4/10/2024This Westinghouse inverter generator was recommended by Consumer Reports. It is powerful enough to run my furnace and appliances during an emergency. I will have a transfer switch installed so that I can run the generator without an extension. Nothing like peace of mind.
Recommended in consumer reports magazine.
Originally posted onwestinghouse.com - 4 out of 5 stars review3/19/2021Adding a Propane Quick connect on the front panel (like a very similar competitor model has) and a Bluetooth connection to your phone (like a very similar competitor model has) would be great additions to this generator. Other than that, I believe that this is the all-around best camping / basic RV generator out there.
Almost perfect
John3-3Originally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review1/28/2022Bought for use with our camper trailer. The user manual is detailed, easy to understand and covers everything. I started it up and plugged in the camper 30A plug. I turned on all the electrical devices one at a time to see how much power they used. Then turned a few on to see what I could run together. Looks like I'll be able to run almost everything I want except starting the AC with the microwave running. It is very quiet even with a heavy load. I like the dual fuel. I'm impressed so far. Time will tell.
Does the job!
Lenny27Originally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review8/30/2024Was looking for an inverter generator that can run a significant portion of our home in the event of a power outage. Started right up first time and runs great. Only have done the "breaking in" portion so far, but so far so good. Only negative was a little damage to the side plastic shield during shipping. Have a call into Westinghouse and waiting for a call back. it will be very useful when the power goes out.

RinkratOriginally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review5/22/2019I think this iGen4500DF is awesome. A little heavy for a senior to take in and out of vehicle but once out the handle and wheels make it easy to move around. Started on second try out of the box. I'm running it on propane and so far it's perfect. No problems.
Very quiet.
OlieOriginally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review11/14/2021Bought this for our RV. Didn't want to disturb our neighbors. Inverter only revs up when you use an appliance. We plug into the 30 amp outlet and we're all set for football games on tv. We've also been using it with our power tools and it's perfect. We load it onto the back of our pickup truck and take it into the woods where we're working on building a bridge. Extremely happy with our purchase!
Very quiet!
Bobby7Originally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review3/9/2021I purchased this to run the fridge, a couple of blowers for the heat and not much else. The connection to the house will be made in a couple of weeks because of electrical supply problems It is going to be used for emergencies and yet it is portable enough to take with us when we are traveling and we want some power. I like that it is dual fuel but we hope to only use it with the propane.

LwoodsOriginally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review5/28/2020I needed a generator to use with our RV trailer. I live on the Gulf Coast with frequent Hurricanes. Due to the hurricanes gasoline is sometimes hard to find so I knew I wanted something dual fueled. The Westinghouse 4500DF is dual fueled. I wanted a generator to power my Travel Trailer with the correct 30amp jack to power my camper. The 4500 has the proper jack for campers. Remote start for when I don't want to start or stop the generator early in the morning or in the middle of the night. I wanted a large fuel tank that would allow me to run over night. I wanted something to tell me how much fuel was in the tank, what voltage I was running, how long I had until the fuel was out, and when I needed to change the oil and other maintena...
Just what I was looking for!
DJ78Originally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review4/26/2020I was looking for a QUIET generator that could run on propane for my trailer. Visited with a company who converts generators to propane. He suggested this model. It even has a remote start/stop. We can stay in the trailer and start the generator. It has met and exceeded our expectations. Followed the instructions for the break in period. We are very happy with it.
All the features desired!
AnnieOakleyOriginally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review9/23/2019I purchased this a week ago to get ready for a planned electric outage. Added the oil, followed the directions, connected the propane tank, and it started right up. I will be keeping the starter battery charged with a battery conditioner to ensure it is always ready to start up.
Started Right Up & Quiet
jonnyb1Originally posted onwestinghouse.com - 4 out of 5 stars review9/5/2021We had been using a smaller Honda gasoline generator and decided we wanted an inverter generator with propane. We dry camp a bit and carry gasoline for our ATV, but we plan to travel with only the camper and being able to just bring propane (which will be used for the camper also) is a big bonus. So far, we just picked it up and ran it a little to make sure everything worked OK. Our residence is at 5200 ft. elevation, we camp around 8,000 to 10,000 ft. It appears we'll need 2 or 3 jet orifices for altitude adjustment, so that will not be as convenient as other generators we've owned (Onan 5500 had just a slide adjustment for altitude). While securing the small starter battery, we thought the strap had broken. On looking closer, the me...
Dual Fuel is a perk
PPHilOriginally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review7/10/2021Just purchased this the first of July 2021. Put the oil in it, and connected the battery, and unit fired up first try. I did not have the problem with choke not working, as some of the other reviewers have had. I'll see how well it runs my 5th wheel.

NevadaOriginally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review5/15/2023I let run hooked to my 30amp rv for 5 hours. I set ac at temp so it would turn on and off. Then changed the oil. I decided to let run another 5 hours same condition, then change oil again. I just wanted to be sure. Maybe over kill. Anyway that's all I use generator so far. I just got it. I hook to my rv and could run inverter, Refrigerator "12 volt model ", all lights, and convection microwave all at same time. This was on propane and it was pretty much maxed our. I didn't let microwave run long so not sure. I'm happy so far. And it's fits in bed of my truck and can close sliding hard cover.
So far so good
Farmer john 123Originally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review8/19/2021I just bought this inverter generator. I live at 6500 feet above sea level, so I was a little concerned that it might not work well. I also decided to use it with propane (which reduces the number of kilowatts that can be used). It started right away! Then I plugged in my motor home with the refrigerator on and it still worked great. After that, I turned on the air conditioner in my motor home to see how it would work with that, and it also kept plugging along! As an added bonus, it is very quiet for a generator. I'm very happy with my purchase!
Great Features?
bekoOriginally posted onwestinghouse.com - 3 out of 5 stars review4/8/2021Seems like a good generator! But ran like bad when I first got it! Found the choke was stuck on because the wire for the electronic choke was unplugged. Don't know why this is saying I didn't write a review. Maybe it's not long enough that is why am just writing this now..
Just what I thought
