Great but watch out for the bleach dispenser!
This washer works great except that I can no longer use bleach. Twice now I have done a load of whites adding regular thin liquid bleach to the bleach dispenser and when I do the next load of darks I have some stained clothes. I don’t see or know how. But super hesitant to ever use bleach through the dispenser again. I don’t see a water source to clear it and it’s on the corner so I’ve been cleaning it off since the first time I noticed the problem. Nothing in the manual helps.

Cheap plastic, but washes clothes well enough
14 months old and the lid hinge broke. It's 2 months passed warranty, so I went looking for a replacement lid. Can't find one anywhere. Used the chat to speak with a person and got the run around, they wouldn't give me a link to the part. Otherwise, the washing is good for my large household. 2+ loads a day, usually use deep wash + deep fill and our clothes are cleaner than I've been able to get them with all other washers. The only problem in that regard is the bleach dispenser doesn't mix with enough water and there's bleach spots on colored towels. I'd give it a 4 stars, but the lid breaking after only 14 months of use and being unable to find a replacement, knocked it down to "do not recommend".
Thank you for your feedback regarding your WT8405CW. We’re pleased the washer is performing well, and we apologize for the frustration with the lid hinge. This washer is the worst purchase i ever made
I totally wasted my money, LG and according to LG support, water restrictions have made this washer almost unusable, first "turbo wash" makes washing faster by not really having a rinse cycle, after draining the wash water it does a slow spin while spraying the clothes as a rinse, It does not work unless the clothes were clean before you statred, second, there is no way to control water level, the machine decides how much unless you want a full tub, on it's own it doesn't put in enough water to allow clothes to move from top to bottom, again even after sending support a video there answer is , NORMAL. I find people on line saying start a cycle, fill for 90 seconds then shut off power button, turn on and select cycle, at that point it senses a heaver load and adds enough water. I can't believe I have to try and trick my new machine, Just give me a level control and a way to manually select cycles, even the download cycle are their canned cycles.
Hi, Jimo. Thanks for sharing your experience with your LG washer. The way you described the TurboWash rinse behavior, the water‑level sensing, and the steps you’ve tried—including sending a video—really helps outline how the unit is operating in your home. Your notes about water levels, cycle control, and the workaround you found online give us a clear picture of what you’re seeing during use. I look forward to laundry day
We purchased this washer in January 2025 after consulting Consumer Reports when our 24-year-old machine washed its last load. After our new washer was installed, the learning process for me began. This new machine isn't my grandmother's wringer washer, and I had to learn how to do laundry all over again. Since this washer senses the weight of clothes to be washed, I learned how to select the proper cycle for each load and have become quite pleased with its cycles and quiet performance. In fact, I look forward to laundry day. From washing a few small pieces to a queen-size blanket or winter coat, this machine does it all with cycles to match. I don't think we have ever had so many clean clothes in this house before! We couldn't be more pleased with the ability and performance of this WT8405CW washing machine.
Now that’s a laundry upgrade worth celebrating, David! ❤️ Your WT8405CW washing machine is redefining convenience—smart cycles, quiet performance, and powerful cleaning for everything from small loads to bulky blankets. We love hearing how it’s transformed your laundry routine into something you actually look forward to! Here’s to fresh, clean clothes every time! 😊 ^Anthony
STAY AWAY FROM THIS MACHINE!!!!!!!!
Bought this LG 5.3 Cu. Ft top Load Washer with LG 7.3 Cu Ft smart Electric. IF THERE WAS A ZERO STAR AVAILABLE, I WOULD GIVE THAT!! This machine is an example of human life when they design things thinking human are dumb and human will is not relevant!! What kind of designing are you guys doing where I can't soak clothes!! Let alone choosing to soak for longer time for certain loads. The machine drains out all my soap water even after I turn the darn thing off while it starts to drain, left the lid open, it still drains it in few minutes. When it starts to drain it by itself, it does not allow me to turn it off to stop it. What on earth is wrong with you people!! APARENTLY THE PERSON WHO DESIGNED THIS MACHINE HAS TO BE A LONELY SINGLE MAN WITH NO LILFE!!
Hey there. We understand you're looking for specific wash cycle functionality from your LG washer, particularly the ability to soak clothes and control the drain process. We're here to help explore what options might be available to optimize your washing experience. Please send us a private message on social media @LGUSSupport with your washer's model number and purchase date. We're confident we can explore the best path to a great resolution for you. ^ Diego

Drum stopped spinning properly
Drum stopped spinning properly 2 weeks after 1 year warranty ended. Garbage product.
We understand how frustrating it is when your LG WT8405CW drum isn’t spinning properly. Here are a few things you can try to troubleshoot the issue: Check Load Balance – Overloading or unevenly distributed laundry can prevent the drum from spinning. Try redistributing the load or reducing the number of items. Check the Door – Ensure the door is fully closed and latched. The washer won’t spin if the door lock isn’t engaged. Check for Error Codes – If your washer displays an error code, refer to the user manual for guidance. Power Reset – Unplug the washer for a few minutes, then plug it back in and restart the cycle. If the drum still does not spin properly after these steps, please contact our LG CareQ Team with your reference number CNN260324703192 and bill of sale, and they’ll review your case and advise on the next steps: 1-888-542-2623 | https://www.lg.com/ca_en/support/contact-us/ Thank you for bringing this to our attention.

LG washer
Doesn’t wash as well as I expected and the water level is very low unless you choose fill drum
Thank you for your feedback regarding your LG WT8405CB washer. We understand it can be frustrating when the water levels or wash performance do not meet your expectations. As a High-Efficiency (HE) model, this washer is designed to use significantly less water by utilizing AI Sensing to detect the weight and fabric type of each load, often resulting in water levels that do not fully submerge all items. If you prefer more water or feel the cleaning performance is lacking, please try the following: Deep Fill Option: Pressing the Deep Fill button once adds extra water to most cycles. To achieve a maximum water level, press and hold the Deep Fill button for 3 seconds. Cycle Selection: For bulky items like towels or jeans, consider using the Deep Wash or Bedding cycles, which are specifically programmed to use higher water levels. Troubleshooting: If the water level seems unusually low (e.g., clothes remain dry), please ensure your water inlet filters are not clogged and that the water supply valves are fully open. For further assistance or to walk through these settings together, you can reach our team at 1-888-542-2623.
