Happy with a hic.
Instructions on how to use the command panel were missing in the manual. Had to get it on the internet. Othewise good machine.

Poor performance cleaning clothes
We have a few concerns with the washer: 1. The soap dispenser is often full of water, from the previous wash cycle when we pull it out to start a new cycle. When the soap dispenser is pulled open, the water runs out into the tub. We then put the soap into the dispenser, and wonder if it also will run right out into the tub onto the dry clothes. 2. After washing dark colored clothes, the clothes often have white streaks on them, which we believe is an indication that the clothes were not properly rinsed. 3 It is frustrating that the top of the washer is not parallel to the ground. Items placed on the washer can fall off.
Hi. We appreciate you sharing your experience with your LG WT8405CW Washer, and we want you to feel confident that we’re here to support you. The details you’ve shared about the dispenser retaining water, residue on dark clothing, and the unit not sitting level help point to a few areas worth reviewing so the washer performs the way you expect. Water remaining in the dispenser can happen when the siphoning path is blocked, so removing the drawer and rinsing the compartments can help restore proper flow. White streaks on dark items often indicate detergent not fully dissolving, and using the correct detergent amount along with the Deep Fill or Extra Rinse options can improve rinsing. If the top surface feels angled, confirming the washer is leveled at all four feet ensures stable operation and prevents items from sliding. Cleans clothes well
Works very well, far better than the topload without agitator that we had previously. The ability to fill the tub just like in the old days is much appreciated.

Quiet machines
New LG washer and dryer working great. One thing I would like to mention, the dryer sheet gets trapped under the lint screen. What does AI do, their is no delicate cycle.
Hey there, Az! Thanks for sharing your experience. Glad to hear your new washer and dryer are running quietly and doing a great job. We’ll pass along your notes about the dryer sheet getting caught and the cycle options to our product team. If you need anything moving forward, @LGUSSupport is always here to help. #LifesGood ❤️ ‑LG Digital Care Team ^Rich
Cheap plastic, but washes clothes well enough
14 months old and the lid hinge broke. It's 2 months passed warranty, so I went looking for a replacement lid. Can't find one anywhere. Used the chat to speak with a person and got the run around, they wouldn't give me a link to the part. Otherwise, the washing is good for my large household. 2+ loads a day, usually use deep wash + deep fill and our clothes are cleaner than I've been able to get them with all other washers. The only problem in that regard is the bleach dispenser doesn't mix with enough water and there's bleach spots on colored towels. I'd give it a 4 stars, but the lid breaking after only 14 months of use and being unable to find a replacement, knocked it down to "do not recommend".
Thank you for your feedback regarding your WT8405CW. We’re pleased the washer is performing well, and we apologize for the frustration with the lid hinge. LG WT8405CB Washing Machine
Overall, this LG washing machine does a very good job when it comes to cleaning clothes. It washes thoroughly, handles different load sizes well, and my laundry consistently comes out fresh and clean. Performance-wise, I’m very satisfied. That said, the lid is a major weakness. The hinge is made of cheap plastic and has broken twice, forcing me to replace the lid each time. This feels like a design flaw and is disappointing for an appliance that otherwise works so well. If LG improved the lid and used more durable materials for the hinge, this would be an excellent washing machine. As it stands, great washing performance is held back by poor build quality in a critical part.

Great but watch out for the bleach dispenser!
This washer works great except that I can no longer use bleach. Twice now I have done a load of whites adding regular thin liquid bleach to the bleach dispenser and when I do the next load of darks I have some stained clothes. I don’t see or know how. But super hesitant to ever use bleach through the dispenser again. I don’t see a water source to clear it and it’s on the corner so I’ve been cleaning it off since the first time I noticed the problem. Nothing in the manual helps.
Hi, Mandy! We appreciate you sharing your experience with your LG washer. The way you described the bleach issue and how it affected your next load is really helpful for others to understand, and it’s great that you’ve already been checking and cleaning the dispenser area on your own. We understand how important it is for your LG unit to handle whites and darks confidently without any leftover residue affecting your clothes. Works well but softener dispenser clogs
Washer works well. It is reasonably quiet and has low vibration levels. Overall capacity is good, especially compared to our previous 20+ year-old washer. This is considered a high-efficiency washer, so you have to get used to the lesser amount of water it uses compared to older machines. The primary negative is the fabric softener dispenser clogs with the softener residue quite frequently. We have to remove and clean the dispenser tray after every 10 loads or so. It is a simple task, but really shouldn't be necessary that frequently.
Hi there, thank you for sharing your experience with the LG WT8405CW washer. It’s great to hear the quiet performance, low vibration, and spacious capacity have been a strong upgrade from your older machine. For the softener dispenser, we recommend diluting fabric softener with a little water before adding it, and rinsing the tray regularly to reduce residue buildup. This washer is the worst purchase i ever made
I totally wasted my money, LG and according to LG support, water restrictions have made this washer almost unusable, first "turbo wash" makes washing faster by not really having a rinse cycle, after draining the wash water it does a slow spin while spraying the clothes as a rinse, It does not work unless the clothes were clean before you statred, second, there is no way to control water level, the machine decides how much unless you want a full tub, on it's own it doesn't put in enough water to allow clothes to move from top to bottom, again even after sending support a video there answer is , NORMAL. I find people on line saying start a cycle, fill for 90 seconds then shut off power button, turn on and select cycle, at that point it senses a heaver load and adds enough water. I can't believe I have to try and trick my new machine, Just give me a level control and a way to manually select cycles, even the download cycle are their canned cycles.
Hi, Jimo. Thanks for sharing your experience with your LG washer. The way you described the TurboWash rinse behavior, the water‑level sensing, and the steps you’ve tried—including sending a video—really helps outline how the unit is operating in your home. Your notes about water levels, cycle control, and the workaround you found online give us a clear picture of what you’re seeing during use. LG Washer
We purchased the washer and dryer in December 2024 and it arrived in January 2025. The washer worked fine initially then after a month it hasn't worked correctly. The washer does not fill with a sufficient volume of water, even when you choose another option. I haven't had the time to call the manufacturer for repair or replacement, but I plan too.
