Smaller than I imagined
My kids love their new play yard. I'm upset that in the description it says installment takes about 20 to 24 hours for 2 moderately skilled people. So we decided to pay the extra $500 to have installed. 2 guys showed up and got it done in a total of about 7 hours. Maybe a little less. If we would have known it would only take 6 to 7 hours, we would have put it together ourselves. The wood doesn't feel as tough as I would have liked. Feels cheap and it isn't treated so you have to get stuff to treat it yourself.
Awesome, sturdy swingset. Worst instructions ever!
Overall i am very satisifed with this swingset. It is very sturdy and affordable and my kids love it. The directions are absolutely terrible and make ti extremely hard to put together. You have to read and reread the directions and it made the process very frustrating. Also, the board are stamped so you know which boards to use but most of the stamps were illegible.
First review ever but felt the need to write about this Saratoga swing set.First of all the price plus free shipping which was delivered in a timely manner was the best deal around. Now about the product itself which I decided to challenge myself and do the construction myself(average skillset) for my Grandchildren. After laying EVERYTHING out matching all the numbered boards together(on a 12x16 tarp) and the many bags of hardware which are all nicely numbered on a table I was ready to take the challenge. After working about 6 hours yesterday I am about half way finished I am getting ready to start up again and hopefully finish today. Another adult helper is highly recommended,a must at times. After laying EVERYTHING out and organizing it which you definitely need to do it will look extremely overwhelming with all the boards and especially all of the bags of nuts, bolts, screws, etc. but the manual is extremely well written and easy enough to understand and all of the lumber and hardware well marked the building process is going relatively smoothly.I have encountered no problems so far.Just make sure you follow the manual step by step(no shortcuts) and eventually you will have a well made finished swing set that the kids will certainly enjoy and you will also enjoy the fact that you took the challenge and FINALLY finished(at least I believe that is how I will feel hopefully after today). It is a slow and time consuming project(I am estimating at this point about 14 hours)but everything is well marked, cut right(so far),and easy to follow instructions so just give yourself(and a helper) plenty of time and enjoy the challenge.Well I have to get back to the challenge myself if I am going to get this project finished(I have a couple of Grandkids anxiously waiting)Have A Great Day!
Pandemic fun!
We bought this set as a way to help our kids go outside while cooped up for the pandemic, it took about 5 days to assemble as the option to have it put together was not available due to covid... it definitely helped them out thoug come spring we are finking the wood to peel and flake off, we are still having fun but it's definitly a tlc swig set!
Not too bad
It took my husband several evenings to assemble, but came together well. The main support beam for the swing should be thicker. My 6 year old niece (average size) uses the swing and the beam bends down and makes cracking noise. I am afraid it is going to break. One of the two swings broke a month after installation, it cracked. It has only been used about 5 times. The bench and the picnic table are also poorly supported, they also bend and look like they could snap anytime. It is an ok set, I expected better quality for the price. Plan on buying more wood this spring to reinforce the fragile main support beams. This set is used by a 2 and 6 year old. It is not made to handle much more than a preschool sized child.
My kids love it
The new swing set is awesome. Some of the instructions where complicated but we figured it out. It did take 2 men 15 hours to assemble. My only problem is one board was smashed pretty bad and estees trucking said the never saw the damage. So it left there terminal is Chicago and made it to New Jersey and no one saw the damage?? But overall it is a great swing set
Two boxes delivered on a palate. Instructions could be better, details are lacking in some of the instructions: one of the sections has missing words, and the side the lower walls should be located on is difficult to discern. All of the needed parts were included. Best price I could find.
My son loves it!
I purchased this about 6 weeks ago for my sons 4th birthday. It took about two full days to put it together, with about 6 people working on it. The bilt app was a great tool to use for building instructions. When the swing set was finished being built the kids immediately ran to play on it and have not stopped coming home excited to play. The seesaw swing is probably one of the best features. It allows my 4 year old son to swing without help from mom and dad. I also like the monkey bars because it allows my son to get some exercise for his arms. About 4 days after building the swing set, we had a violent storm that took down a tree which landed on part of the swing set. I had to order 6 pieces of wood which were all under warranty. It took about 10 business days to come in, but the pieces were free and it was very easy to order with their online system! It's a great quality product and I am glad we purchased it!
Arrived on time with all parts included.
Set arrived in two containers. All parts were included in containers. However, delivery was made on a road truck so I had to meet the truck and pick it up because the road truck would not attempt a residential street delivery. Instructions left a lot to be desired; basically pictures with very few words. Laid out materials in the yard by code stamp and it made assembly easier. Took ~13 hours for 2 people to assemble mostly due to interpreting the sketchy instructions and redrilling some of the holes. A drill with attachments is a must! Quality seems to be "ok" with the single exception of one board that was my of poor quality. Luckily it was a 1x3 that I was able to replace with a piece of hardwood (cedar not available). Assembling the slide turned out to be a six-handed job. Our 4 yr old granddaughter's first words were, "I LOVE IT!!"
KIDS LOVE IT!
This set takes several days to build but it's sturdy and will last. The children it was built for absolutely love to be outside on it and inside the little house! The trucking company, Estes, was the best as far as communication and working with us for delivery.
