Bought this flat top from Sam’s when it went on sale. I have personal experience with the older model and the Blackstone. The older model has stationary side tables. The new model has folding side tables which I think is a good idea. Well, I am disappointed because I had high hopes for this new design. The griddle cannot be leveled like the previous model because it is fixed. Assembly of the new model was very tedious. The older version came partially assembled and was easy to put together. Not so with the new model. There are literally over a hundred fasteners used to put this thing together so you better be a handy person. Once together I cleaned it before seasoning and there was a LOT of industrial dirt from the roll top process on the cast iron. My hands were black from handling it. I also noticed Chinese stamps on the flat top after cleaning. I seasoned it 5 times and it’s still not there. There is VERY uneven heating of the surface and the burners are offset from the front enough to where the front is considerably cooler than the area receiving the direct heat. The older model did not suffer from any of these problems and it is used frequently. I bought the older model right after COVID for the same price as this model. With all of these issues I have yet to cook on it due to the uneven seasoning but will give it a try this weekend. You pay for what you get.

Great price for a very sturdy griddle. The only complaint that I have is the griddle heat is uneven. Not sure if there is an adjustment with the burner assembly. Love the built in side shelves/cover. Great buy.
