just got home after what felt like 3 hrs reading an feeling the dog food atv the store through the bag for soft pieces because if there's any way my dog was going to eat something other than Old Roy soft Play-Doh feeling food that he won't eat anything else that I've introduced it was if it has tender pieces..i poured him a bowl and he walked away. THEN I HEARD THE CRUNCH!! He was eating it!!! Im hoping his itchiness and joy to eat his food improves.. I'm so happy to find this Purina one true instinct turkey and venison .. I hope this product never disappears off the shelf. I wish i could by a huge huge bag!! I will upload a picture of the bag to look for because it says product bag look will be changing !

My dogs are not picky eaters and I've always fed them Purina brand. But after reading some things a friend of mine, who is a vet, posted on social media about which brands of dog food have the scientific research to back up their products with Purina being one of them I knew I made a good choice in always feeding my dogs the Purina brand. I tried giving my dogs the Beneful formula but they were rather lethargic and not very energetic. So i put them back on the True Instinct and they thrive on the stuff. My chihuahua is a long hair and his coat is so shiny and soft. My pitbull's coat is very soft too, and his energy is through the roof. I will always gladly pay for good nutrition for my dogs. Thanks for such an awesome product!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have bought lots of different brands of high-quality dog food and expensive food for Layla and most of it is just those brown pebbles anyway and it smells gross and Layla never likes any of it. That is until I found this stuff. She loves it and actually eats it!

We have six dogs. 1 is a bad diabetic, one has a digest disorder, one is in congestive heart failure and 3 Jack Russells. Our diabetic was having a hard time getting his numbers to the normal range and was up to over 40 units of insulin a day. Our digest disorder would get sick and start passing blood. With that we would have to get antibiotics and give him a pill for weeks to settle and coat his stomach. The congestive heart failure just didn’t want to eat. The Russells, well they are Russells and their metabolism is thru the roof. Our Vet suggested that we try this food bc they felt it was the best and would cover the issues across the board. They were completely right. Our diabetic has his number to almost normal with 30 units of insulin a day. Trust me this is great news. Our digestive disorder dog has not been on any type of meds and hasn’t had a flare up. Again this is great news. Our congestive heart failure has finally showed interest in eating again. Again great news. The Russells are not loosing wt and our littlest Jack has gained 2 pound which puts him up to 10 pounds. Our Vet is very pleased as well. We finally have found a found what works with the whole gang. I can’t say enough about this food.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I like that this contains turkey and venison but the only problem is I wish they would remove the chicken. It only says on the bag on the front that it is a blend of real turkey and venison but it also contains chicken. A lot of dogs have allergies to chicken and I wish they would clearly state that on the front. If they could remove the chicken and keep it just turkey and venison. I would give it five stars.

Our year and a half Goldendoodle likes it but I don't like the cardboard consistency of some of the larger chunks. Those chunks have been 2 to 3 inches long, like they contained "other" fibers and/or a cardboard substance. We have been trying to pick out those big pieces but that is a lot of wasted "food". We are now looking for a better, more consistent "food grade" product.

While switching over, they would sift through the bowl to find the new flavor, and have loved this food since the switch. Thanks Purina! My dogs, horses, and cat are all Purina fans, and I wouldn’t choose anything less than quality for them.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have a beautiful 8 month old Australian Shepherd/Black Lab mix. She was perfectly healthy months 1-7 while I was feeding her Blue Wilderness puppy food and Blue Buffalo towards the end. After beginning the 28 day challenge, within a week there was a noticeable difference in her looks and behavior, and not for the better. She became very itchy, and has been losing patches of fur. Her eyes have been irritated and red, and has lacked that playful puppy energy she had. She doesn’t look nearly as healthy or happy as she was a little over a month ago. Which makes me not very happy. She’s also became pregnant during this 28 days and I hope to god that accepting this challenge don’t cause her any complications or issues. Not happy! 28 day challenge is a challenge alright. More like a gauntlet. Thought I’d save some money by switching from Blue but ended up costing more in the long run when you add the vet bill...
