Horrible warranty,! Breaks down in 6 months!!

Looking to save you the time and headache of getting an icemaker do not go with Frigidaire. The warranty is not good. They make you pay to ship it back when it breaks down in six months. Their reviews are one star because it’s the least star that you can get, let me repeat. Do not purchase a Frigidaire icemaker.

Great Little Icemaker

Great 'little' icemaker for the price. Really cranks out the ice cubes. They're small but after they're in liquid they're almost like crushed ice. It really does make a small batch of cubes every 8 minutes if the bin is empty. Hint: To keep it making ice make sure the eye on the left inside of the lid isn't blocked by cubes. I wouldn't recommend this for more than one or 2 people. I've not had this long but so far so good. Frigidaire should redesign this with a bigger fill basket, an easier to see fill line, & a hook to hang the scoop on the side of the unit. Much quieter than the Opal icemaker & takes up much less room on the counter.

damaged on arrival

I was really excited to set up this ice maker but it arrived with a big ol dent on the front panel. It took longer than most things to get here and my local Sam's club does not stock it in store. So now I have to return it, wait for the refund to process, reorder it, and then wait for it to come in again and hope it doesn't have a big dent in it....

After having the Frigidaire bullet shaped I've maker for 3 years (had to return the first after a year which was smooth and hassle free at Sam's Club) I was surprised to see the Frigidaire Gallery model cheaper so I picked one up. Big mistake and something I wish I had not done. First of all if your like chewable ice you will like this model. Unfortunately I find that chewable ice melts faster and waters down whatever you may be drinking. The worst part for me though is over the course of the last month there is either black grease or black mold developing on the top of the sweeper that moved ice into the holding bin. Needless to say I'm returning this model and going back to the regular Frigidaire model that I had previously.

It is intended that ice produced be periodically transferred to zipperlock bags for storage in a conventional freezer.To make firmer/larger/drier ice, use colder water. Tip, let the first couple of batches of ice fall into the water reservoir to chill the water.

Fun while it lasted

Lasted 6 months! Frigidaire customer service simply terrible. A lot of back and forth, sending pictures over and over again. Ultimately, they stated that I can return it at my own expense, resolution to be determined.

Worked for about a year. Then it started to produce dirty ice. We tried everything to clean and fix it. Not worth the effort. I would return if I could.

Proceed with caution

It worked great until it didn't. Makes a good amount of ice that stays cold. But lasted less than a year before it started making a horrible squealing sound that would not stop. I did everything suggested but nothing worked.
