I want Max to be at a healthy weight. My husband noticed, and the vet confirmed, that he was beginning to get pudgy. My husband found this and we started him on it. He enjoys the taste and because it has kept his weight regulated, we have kept with the program.

Please read past "chicken". The first three ingredients should be animal based proteins. Every ingredient between "chicken" and "minerals" is a filler. Pet food ingredients are listed in order of weight BEFORE cooking. Chicken is 75% water before cooking. That means this kibble as VERY little quality meat based proteins. Whole grain corn is the third ingredient. The number one major reason dogs are itchy or have digestive problems is generally grains. If you cut out grains, you will likely have a healthier dog. My dog didn't do well on this food for all these reasons. Switched to something better.

Most dogs can tell and taste the difference in food when you try to sneak them into trying it, but Chessie readily accepts the taste and change in her diet. We buy benefit and have also purchased purina One. Extremely happy with it an Jack doesn’t leave an open empty dish unless he has a belly issue from something else

When I changed over to Healthy Weight, she really loved it. Then I had a friend go and get her the same thing, but he bought the regular, and she really hesitates to eat, even tho I mix in some soft food too. And since my back won't let me walk for very far, she doesn't get to run like we used to, so the Healthy Weight was great for her. I can tell that she has gained weight on the regular. (I feel soo sorry for her).

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Since switching to this dog food, all four of my dogs have gotten so much more excited than they used to when time to eat. They have had foods they did not like before and would not be very excited when food was served but now they howl and dance all the way to their bowls. I have also noticed them thinning out and getting back to their suggested weights.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received a bag of Purina Beneful Healthy Weight to have my doggies try and give my opinion on. i gave it both my older dog and my puppy. They both instantly liked it, They both like to grab one or two pieces eat it then repeat. My older Chihuahua taught my younger dog to do this. It's pretty funny. They both have enjoyed it though. I have no problem with them eating it. Sometimes they get picky on which foods they like, but they liked this one, so I definitely approve, and recommend. Especially for those that have a dog that needs a bit of help with their weight.
