I have used Turbo Tax for many years and it has been super easy to use. As we've transitioned from full-time work to retirement the process has continued to work well with our financial situation. We don't really have anything too complicated, so it makes no sense to me why we'd pay someone 3-4 times the cost of Turbo Tax. We did have someone do our taxes a few years ago just to see if we were missing out on something. The answer was no.

Overall a good product that makes it easy to do your state and federal taxes. One significant feature missing from the product is the ability to easily compare results between filing jointly vs. individually. The only way I could find to do this was using the "what-if" scenario which is quite cumbersome and time consuming. It forces one to re-enter data from from one of the two "filing separate" returns. Then if the joint return is a better option, one must edit one of the "filing separate" returns to change it to joint and once again re-enter data now for a 3rd time! If TurboTax were to fix this deficiency so that data for two individuals only had to be entered once to compare joint vs individual filings, I would give the product a 5 star review. Until then, I cannot justify more than 3.

Year after year, Turbo Tax has been outstanding for me. I love the simplicity, yet in depth coverage, I learning how to do it easier each year. For instance, I had to really work to put myself down as a third party designee for income tax that I do for my son and his family plus those I do for my daughter. But, once I learned how in that first year, i can do it blindfolded now. I would probably have some complaints to write about here, but, as I become more familiar with using Turbo Taxes, I have forgotten what the rugged areas used to be. Bottom line is that I am now pretty much breezing through the returns using Turbo Tax because I am becoming so familiar with using it. Occasionally, I'll find myself looking in Turbo Tax community discussions. One other thing I have discovered that saves me from a lot of frustration. Instead of going directly to the Turbo Tax Forums, I google "Turbo Tax plus the topic" to get to the right area. For instance, I once googled "Turbo Tax are FID, TIN, and EIN the same". I get to the right place in the Turbo Tax Forum much faster than trying to navigate the Turbo Tax Forum site. Anyway, I love using Turbo Tax to complete my income taxes. Thank you.

I would appreciate the ability to also be able to file state returns without having to complete two different submissions, turbo tax and Cal file which also does not charge to file for more convenience and greater appreciation for the program purchased for use.

I think Turbo Tax does a good job of getting your tax returns accomplished. It would be nice to see the pages of the return to compare to previous years while you are working on the return instead of only seeing them after you submit the return. This would be reinforcement that you are entering your data correctly. I have used Turbo Tax for the last 4 years and I trust my returns are accurate.

I wish there was a way to know which questions on the wizard correspond to tax forms. If I run into an error when my taxes are reviewed, I often inspect the actual tax form. Unfortunately, there is no 'click here to go to this spot on the wizard' when you are on the forms.

Turbo Tax is the best thing that ever happened when filing your taxes. I've used it for more years than I care to remember. I've never encountered a problem that could not be easily resolved. This year, if it had not been for the import function of the Turbo Tax software, I do doubt would be sitting in a Tax Preparers office. Thank you, Turbo Tax!

For the last few years, I can tell that different writers have written Turbo Tax. For me, the text is not as helpful and clear, and tends to be too terse just when clarity is essential. I have not enjoyed using Turbo Tax for the past few years, and I wish you would acquire the quality writers you had five or more years ago.

I did not need to use the experts, as I have been using Turbo Tax for over 20 years. I really like the "walk me through everything" option. Even though I know what needs to be done, it makes sure I don't miss anything. If I have a new form, I just search, and info pops up to help me know where the form goes, and what is needed from the form.

Generally, the product and performance I expected. My only complaint is that the in program Help Agent (Help tab not live help) didn't come up with specific instructions to any search term containing deductions - as in "is supplemental vision insurance deductible", it came back with very general info on deduction definitions and non-useful links to other topics.
