The $40.00 refund processing fee is ridiculous. If I had not called support to figure out how to not pay for this, I would have been suckered too. Software is not friendly enough to say that if you pay for the filing fee via credit card, you won't have to pay the refund processing fee.

Turbo Tax functioned very well as in has in all the years I have been using it. The step-by-step instructions are easy to understand and provides excellent examples. I like having the option to for assistance if I get audited as well as the Professional Services.

Pretty easy to use. Some items should have more clear explanation: education expense : yes / no qualified. Give more examples about how to prove computer, tablet bought for online class . They are not required explicitly from instructor/school, but it is a must by default

Previous years no problem. This year Turbotax seems more interested in selling me additional stuff than on doing my tax return. Tried to e-file state return. Needed to pay $15 (no problem). COULD NOT get to payment screen. Spent a lot of time with your agent to help with this. She could not get there either. (OK, if you will not let me pay you to e-file, I'll just mail them in.) I am now in an endless loop trying to print a copy of my return. (Do you not employ any programmers? Does no-one check your system to see if it actually works as intended?). How can a print function be so complicated? I am going to continue to try to get a print-out of my return. I hate to think I wasted my money on getting the package that included state tax when I cannot get the results to the state by any means.

Except for 2 - 3 years, I have used Turbo Tax Deluxe annually for my federal and state tax preparation and filing. I did use another app for two or three years but encountered some challenges with my RMD reporting. So I returned to Turbo Tax Deluxe. It is a good product and I recommend it.

Overall TT is easy to use. However, I still have complaints about how TT calculates tax-exempt dividends for my NJ state return. TT miscalculates the states dividends for tax-exempt and taxable dividends. Mutual funds that are 100% tax-exempt for the federal return are carried over as 100% tax-exempt for my NJ return. Only portions of these dividends are tax-exempt for NJ. Not the entire amount. I have to manually go in and change the amounts reported to NJ for tax-exempt and taxable dividends. How come TT can't figure this out? If anyone has the same problem I would like to hear from you.

Its a great program. I wish you still had the disk. Downloading is sometimes a pain. It also would be nice if we get more than 1 state free. I use this for my family and there are three of us with separate returns. It just would nice not having to pay "you guys" $25 for state tax and then a filing fee on top of that.

Turbo Tax is a mediocre product. It offers little insight into tax calculations and only very basis information on how to complete tax documents. In some cases, understanding how to complete a form is near impossible. One example is the K-1. In other instances, correcting mistakes is impossible. For instance correcting a minor mistake with data from a 1099 Div form was impossible. I accidentally put in the wrong number for foreign dividends earned.

Most of TurboTax is great. However, the descriptions, questions, and logic sequence regarding college student dependents, 529 funds, and other scholarships is severely lacking. This is an issue that will affect more and more people. A sequence of questions regarding numerous scenarios should be included, rather than just providing general, high-level descriptions in pop-up help boxes.
