Initially I had trouble purchasing, downloading, and activating Turbotax. It was not as straightforward as it used to be when I could purchase in person from the store and go from there. I continue to use the software for its ability to upload information from the previous year and compare. That is the value that appreciate the most. I would much rather purchase the box in person and use the code to download, please.

1. TurboTax download contained an old version of C++. So, I had to come up with a method to update it. I put the instructions on the forum. 2. TurboTax changed the method of finding the form structure from previous years. This made it a bit confusing on which data was going where. 3. TurboTax now has prevented sharing with family members.

In program help and instructions are lacking this year over previous years. FOr some entries i had to gfuess due to poor instructiosn. I never had that prblen in previous years. i assume it's so you'll force users to p[urchase add-0n help. If htis contiues, i will look at other products.

Please fix the software to NOT throw an error message when the customer's 1099-R Box 16 is blank yet the software requires an amount to be entered there. After searching Turbo and online forum help, I see that other customers were advised to enter the amount from Box 1 into Box 16 in the Turbo software to get around the Turbo software bug.

Turbo tax is a very good product and worked great. This is the 1st year of using it. I needed to modifiy or review a few 1099's and I found it a little hard to make sure I on the the right 1099, but with experience I am sure it will get easier next year. And YES I will use Turbo Tax next year. I would like to give it 4.5+ stars but that was not an option. Thus the 4 star rating.

Generally, I thought walking through the instructions was pretty much on par with prior years. However, I did find the instructions for entering the Schedule K1 to be cryptic and confusing. I had several K1s to enter and I had to go back over each one a couple of times to make sure I thought I entered the information correctly. Why not just walk me through all the parts, sections, boxes, and codes in a linear set of steps rather than having me choose the sections to complete. It was not clear to me if I needed to enter zero amounts or not, but to be safe I entered them. In addition, I'm not that familiar with Partnership Tax filings or the jargon used, so I felt like I struggled to understand what the K1 entries meant. To be honest, I didn't feel very confident that I was understanding the Schedule K1 form and other tax package information, which still has me a bit concerned.

Good product. I have been using it for over 20 years. It could use some improvements. e.g. Don't ask me questions that you can obtain from my previous year. (e.g. Did you take the standard deduction?). Also, I download my brokerage account 1099s in PDF. TurboTax should be able to extract that information from the PDF files. Yes, I know you can retrieve this information from my broker, but I don't like doing that for security reasons.

I've used Turbo Tax for at least 7 years now and this year seemed to take much longer. Also, all my 2023 info didn't show when the comparison was made between 2023 and 2024. Printing was an issue. Our returns are very similar to last year, so I feel confident everything was the same. Overall, this year hasn't been great and I will really consider using a professional accountant next year.

I've been using Turbo Tax for 20 plus years without any problems but this year I had a problem with downloading my state return. After talking to Turbo Tax Tech support and HP Tech support for several days it was suggested to uninstall and re install my Turbo Tax. I was finally able to download my State return

Couldn't file without TT. Local CPA's use it too. I approached one to see what he'd charge me. Said he breaks even the first year (entering data in TT), so I'd have to commit to two years (he makes a profit on the second year). I decided to do it myself with TT.
