The software is so inflexible, if you're a federal worker, you're basically going to have to fudge it. As a fed, every year in box 12 of my W2, I have a small amount of Deferred 401K like $10 to $20 listed as "D xx" where xx is the last two of the previous year. This year, Box 12b had "D 23 $18.56". Because I already had another D listed for this year, the software refused to allow me to file electronically unless I re-catagorized the "D 23" or (as I did) just delete it.

This year's experience with Turbo Tax was nowhere near as good as previous years. I could not electronically import information from my brokerage account due to your selection method requirement. This caused a lot of confusion over what information was required and where to report it.

The last 5-7 years I have used Turbo Tax for my taxes. I enjoy using the program and I really appreciated the live chat with a tax advisor. Although I enjoy doing my taxes, it was good to know that professional help a phone call away Thank you Ken Adfamson

I appreciate the product; however, found the CD didn't use up my space on my computer as it did this year as a download without a CD. I had to delete most of previous Turbo Tax files to make room for just this year. I don't do much on my computer but these taxes and to have the trouble I had on downloading such a large file made it more work than it needed to be. Going into next year, if it could be a smaller file to download or bring back the CDs that would be appreciated.

It was very time consuming and frustrating. There are too many forms that don't apply to my situation. I have been using TurboTax for several years now and it has not gotten easier but harder to complete tax returns. On a fixed income, it is difficult to wade through all the forms. And then be rejected because of the last years AGI which TurboTax should have already.

It was pretty easy to use better than two years ago but once there are errors to fix, that's harder to do whcih it would be nice to have the TT form version guiding us to correct them instead of looking at the offical tax form and figuring out how to answer or correct those errors.

I have used Turbo Tax 20 plus years and this was a terrible experience. I input my tax info on 3 separate occasions on the advice of internet and EJ. I imported Edward Jones records and got 36 errors. On internet advice I tried again by deleting the EJ import and reloading. Said it was a known error but was fixed. Still didn't work. I started a new return, input all my tax documents and imported records. 36 errors. I then printed the EJ documents to input all the info manually. Also the search function was menu driven and I would give it the same rating. I was used to putting in a phrase and it taking me to the required form Terrible experience

Turbo Tax was OK but the explanations of the different types income and tax deductibles needs to be in an even more simple language. The review is also a little messed up. It brings you directly to the 1099 form to fix the problem rather than to the question you may have over looked or miss read.

I love Turbo Tax however I am not sure if there is a glitch or what. On the state return form when you do the review, when you hit the continue button once reviewed it takes you to the page to buy help then when you cancel that it just takes you back to the reviewed page again and when you hit continue it just keeps going back and forth.

Half way through the program started showing I owed over 8 million in taxes on a total income of less than 200 thousand. This really upset me. I had to re-enter all my data three times before it got things right. And had made no mistakes with any of my entries. It took me several tries and six hours to complete my returns.
