I just completed my 2024 taxes. I have used TurboTax for many years, but now I am making Qualified Charitable Contributions. I did not find a place to enter this information when I chose to work on the items in the order that I preferred. I suggest that you add a question on charitable contributions asking if a QCD was made this year. I had to go into the worksheets to find a place to enter the QCD, but many people would not be comfortable going into the worksheets.

In general I'm very happy with Turbo Tax. However, this year's version showed the 1099 forms I needed to download based on last year's return, and once I downloaded this year's version, it didn't replace what Turbo Tax showed me from last year. Thus, I had two copies and had to delete the one that Turbo Tax inserted.

Easy to use and fast paced even when putting information in for a home. What I don't like is at the very end when you're going to e-file, you get charged again. Its beginning to become monotonous and may as well just take your taxes to be done for the same amount that you pay to e-file and purchasing turbo tax. Next year that is what I'm going to do.

In general, I love TurboTax. However, this year there was a glitch. I wasn't able to separately input the 2, 1099-Rs that I received from one financial services company. Both of these 1099-Rs documented withdrawals of tax-deductible contributions (code "7" in box 7). I had to combine them in order for TT to not tell me that I hadn't taken my RMD. I hope that this glitch gets fixed.

Turbo Tax's UI and workflow is not keeping up with computer programs best practices. It was way to difficult to find how to deduct contributions to my son's Edvest 529 account. It was very frustrating that the app didn't allow me to utilize my google wallet info when paying for State eFiling It was very frustrating that the app made me enter the same banking information for both the federal and state forms.

The card says five free returns. That's accurate to a point. Only one oerson can own the key and the other four returns have to be under the first users account. The return is single entity but logged under one person's account and the need to log into their account to install the software. That person gets updates on when you return your forms to the IRS. The product also states you can import H&R Block information but I could not find anywhere where it would let me so I put in all the information manually. The entire process my return was simple enough and no quirks. It is good software except the doing all returns under ine account.

This year seemed a little more difficult than last years version... After installation I was able to import last years personal information and enter W2 information. I saved the session and was going to finish up later in the afternoon. Upon opening TurboTax a 2nd time, I was unable to open my previous session though I could see it in Windows File Explorer, couldn't import my data and had to re-import all my information by hand... The second issue occurred when using the back button and had to re-enter all W2 information....

The 2024 Turbotax was very poor at handling the free state tax. I went from the federal to state as expected but did not transfer the tax with held from the W2. I has to manually find where I could force it in. Also turbo tax needs to have a way to separate federal from state in regard to electronic send and printing for mail in. The way you have it, its very convoluted. Not impressed with how turbo tax is trying to simplify things if thats what you are doing. I will be checking out opinions of other software in the future.

TurboTax Deluxe glitch is preventing efiling my South Carolina return. For two days, I have received "FAILED VALIDATION message stating there is an update available for your version of TurboTax. Before you can file electronically, you'll need to get his update. To do this, go to the Online menu and select Check for Updates." However, upon checking I receive the message "Your software is up to date."

Mostly easy to use and very thorough. Had difficulty attaching Gross Compensation Worksheet to state filing, not even sure it happened after a great deal of effort on my part. Very frustrating and sorry I wasted $25 to file state form electronically.
