Turbotax desktop is great I use it every year. This year I thought I would try turbo tax online, well I switched back to the desktop halfway through my taxes. I was having issues with it not allowing me to click on things and then not letting proceed. So the desktop version id defiantly the way to go for me.

This year, Turbo Tax was very disappointing. Purchased the disk in early January, but software about critical areas (ie. withdrawels from IRA) was not available until late January. Then, after putting all my information in, came time to e-file and surprise charges ie $40 for a "refund", really upset me. rather than surprises, tt should give upfront fees on the folder so as to inform users BEFORE they make the software purchase.

1. Difficulty in deleting previous years 1099 R entries. I had to go to the Help section (after signing in which is cumbersome) The help menu items shld. be in the offline drop down buttons. Also add Delete boxes for old or out dated entries for 1099R etc. SHld. not have to go to "Forms". 2.Also had to "Add" a new 1099 vs editing the old previous ones B/F. 3.STOP doing spyware tactics like FaceBook, Microsoft Windows 11. the Public dislikes leaving their personal tax info. in YOUR CLOUD. We want to do the return on OUR drives...not yours! Do Good. Dont be EVIL.

I needed to talk to a tax expert. On review of the forms there is an area on page 1 of the 1040-S just below our social security numbers that deals with 2025 Residency. "Check here if your main home, and your spouse's if filing a joint return, was in the U.S. for more than half of 2025." We did live in our home for all of 2025 but the software didn't check the box. I reviewed the software input but still wasn't able to locate an area pertaining to residency for 2025 and called for HELP. Got the help needed and the reason it wasn't checked by the software was because it pertained to Earned Income Credit and other tax benefits that didn't pertain to our file. I was able to submit the return.

Had a problem with the Importing Process from Morgan Stanley E-Trade Accounts. Had to call Customer service. Also when the review process was done it said that I had 36 errors. This was due to the importing of incomplete sale dates on certain Wash sales for stocks. never had that problem before in my 20 plus years of using Turbo Tax. Other than that it worked fine as usual.

Unfortunately, this no longer supports Windows 10, and it now requires Windows 11. I didn't know that when I purchased it. I had to buy a new computer just so I could do Turbo Tax. Also, it wasn't able to correctly handle having multiple 1098 forms for my mortgage. It didn't know how to handle the loan being sold to another company, and it didn't correctly handle the loan amount because the loan amount was over the $750,000 cap by the feds.

Have been using Turbo Tax Deluxe since it first became available. Disappointed that it's no longer available in a physical format / only downloadable version. Still seems accurate, covers all possible deductions, imports information from previous years taxes and the interface remains easy to use.

Everything was great. My only additional hope was to learn more about the depreciation options for the new pole building I constructed last year for my business. Was hoping to learn more about the 15 year depreciation option and when that applies instead of just doing the 39 year depreciation. But all fine.

Turbotax is an excellent product that helped us though complex scenarios for our 2025 taxes. I would have given the rating a 5 star, but my only issue was that the "its deductible feature" is no longer in the software to price out donations of clothing and household items. Turbo Tax says they will come up with "something", with no timeframe. We moved this year and donated many items . We used that feature many times in the past years. Doing each of the 140 donated items as an individual item in this software would be an enormous task and thus not doable for us

Splash screen is about fifteen years old. Particularly annoyed with estimating how much tax to be withheld from pensions and Social Security. That function isn't included. Either you fill out a W-4 for en employer (not applicable) or you create estimated tax payments (not relevant).
