TurboTax is not allowing me to file my state taxes by mail. It seems to be intentionally forcing me to efile so I will have to pay the fee for efiling. I have been using TurboTax for decades (originally using Parsons tax software). Based on its operation this year, I think it is time to make a change.

the decision to not allow computers with older software was very unfortunate. I see no reason Turbotax decided I must have a new computer to use your softare (on line software for taxes is just plain wrong all your information can and will get stolen). Further to this your software has a problem with HSA contributions. Not pleased with the last 5 releases of Turbotax, not sure your worth it anymore

Billing interface for desktop deluxe version is completely non-functional. On 2 occasions, calls to a tech rep were needed, and on 1 occasion I was told that I needed to manually submit my state return or wait 2 weeks for a form, which I didn't need, to become available.

I have used TurboTax for federal and state filings for 7 years. Great product, it asks enough questions to safely guide you through the process. I used to have someone prepare my taxes, and it cost big bucks. I wished I had learned to use Turbo tax many years. Thanks again for a great product.

The major thing I do not like about TurboTax is that it says one free state e file but the last two years it has made me pay for it and it is not just $25 the total is $65 which is basically what I paid for TurboTax in the first place. Next year I will be mailing my state taxes.

I've been using Turbotax since the floppy disc days. I've never had a problem with it and will continue to use it in the future. HOWEVER....I hate hate hate the added fees that you don't see until you are ready to file. Just when you think you have your numbers correct and you can start your planning you get chiseled again at the very end. Should be much better and more up front with the final cost.

I used TurboTax Desktop to file Married Filing Separately with a non-resident alien spouse who does not have an SSN or ITIN — a situation that is explicitly allowed by the IRS. TurboTax allowed me to complete the return, but then let me e-file knowing the IRS would reject it, only to fail at submission with an SSN mismatch error. At no point did TurboTax clearly warn that e-file is impossible in this scenario or that the software would force me into paper filing after the fact. This resulted in: Wasted time troubleshooting an error that isn't fixable via e-file Confusing and contradictory guidance during the interview process A requirement to paper-file despite paying for software marketed as e-file capable TurboTax should detect this filing scenario early, clearly explain that paper filing will be required, and avoid guiding users down a guaranteed rejection path. This is a common situation for taxpayers with overseas spouses, and the software experience does not handle it well. The tax calculations themselves are fine, but the user experience and lack of upfront disclosure made this far more frustrating than necessary.

I've been using turbo since 1998, for a person who is afraid of doing your own taxes this product is for you.It saves everything from year to year which makes it easy to do each year by pulling up what you need the next year. If I can do this, then anyone can do it

I've used Turbo Tax foe many years. This year I had trouble reviewing the things I inut into the program though when I went to forms I could find things. I will continue to use Turbo Tax though because, in the end, it is a program pretty easy to follow and use.

1) Program did not calculate additional taxable income for Oregon (code 158) when I corrected a 1099-DIV from all Oregon Exempt to mulltiple state. Had to enter manually. 2) Used Oregon's DOR "What's my kicker" and overrode Turbo's calculation but could not e-file until I found last years taxes so I could enter last years tax amount which Turbo could have carried over from last years return. Better yet give access to Oregon What's my kicker. 3) Can't uncheck review topics because AI thinks I'm too dumb to be able to choose the correct topics. This year was a real disappointment.
