Turbotax does most of what we need it to, but it then crosses many lines and tries to sell many add-ons and upgrades that aren't needed. It provides structure and guidance already, it provides the features we need out of the box and it does all calculations we need it to do. However, these add-ons are rather aggressively marketed in the software nonetheless. Then, something that should be included, like state e-filing, is a rather expensive add-on because of Turbotax and not our state charging for this... Not cool.

1. Turbo tax seems to be ignoring the fact that 50% of teacher pensions in Connecticut are taxed. CT schedule 1 line 45 is blank, yet should deduct 50% of my pension. I will likely have to file an amended return again. 2. When printing the federal return several pages from the banking Green Dot agreement prints in the middle of my tax return where it normally is. 3 I have used turbo tax for years I doubt I will use it again.

TurboTax doesn't work when one person in a married couple is filing in a community property state and another member is filing in a non-community property state. It won't let you attach Form 8958 to the non-community property state tax return. I am filing in Washington and had no difficulties. My wife is filing in Oregon due to my taking care of elderly parents. Oregon says that because Washington is a community property state that I need to file an Oregon Non-Resident tax. No problem because Turbotax works for Washington state. Turbotax won't accept the form being added when my wife prepares her taxes in Oregon though. One needs to complete work arounds to get the forms to populate. Not easy. And there is no way to communicate this software bug back to Intuit.

Please make the "use tax" part of the Indiana return easier. Ive got everything on excel, please allow me to copy and past large swaths of data rather than manually entering each value. Also this stupid AI on this review keeps changing my words. Turn it off.

I am a longtime TurboTax user, and I must say I am very concerned about the quality and accuracy of the software. I was confused as to why certain tax deductions, such as the Child Tax Credit, were not appearing. Googling this issue led me to a solution, but re-entering child information seems like a major flaw and has me doubting whether I am getting all the deductions I am entitled to. I have confidently used TurboTax in past believing the product was solid now I am not so sure. BTW - I checked my 2024 and Child Tax Credit was not applied on that return until I removed and re-entered child information.

The software provides the information I need and I have years of experience so there is no "advice" other than upsell and distraction I don't need. I really hate the amount of marketing that appears in TurboTax. It is distracting and frustrating. I've paid for the software. Why is this additional marketing necessary. It feels like a trap is always waiting when I am not paying attention. I have to constantly double-check to make sure I am not paying extra for something that pops up in my way.

Update TT such that if Fed Return is E-mailed, and State is Mailed the process is clearer. TT needs to include direction for correction if a given (1099-B for example) item needed will not open (this happened to me and the TT rep asked me to close Webroot and open TT as Administrator which permitted 1099-B to be opened ... we don't know which one did the trick!)

2025 version is NOT as good 2024 version. Questions are not all that clear. When my return was rejected for using wrong AGI, do you think I could figure out how to find the box to input the correct AGI? Not on your life. Also since when do I have a separate AGI and my wife have her own AGI?? We were filing jointly, not separately. It seems that several of the items become hidden once they are input and impossible to find again. I was not impressed with the 2025 version;

I've used it for years. Has saved me a lot of money! I have used online advise a few times and everyone was always so friendly and helpful. This year I found it a little more difficult to input information. The format had changed and wssn't as easy to understand as in the past.

The most difficult part of filing with turbotax is the e-filing section. It repeatedly asked to update turbotax when I had already updated it and using the latest version of turbotax deluxe edition 2025, I did'nt think it would take long for the process to be completed but it did. The system needs to be updated in the desktop download version that is purchased from the store so that consumers are able to complete there taxes in a timely manner, it took me an extra couple of hours to complete. Lengthy process.
