Customer reviews for LG 7.3 cu. ft. Gas Dryer with Sensor Dry forNot user friendly
Do not recommend. I loved my previous LG set. I was able to select a mode, then customize the options to fit my needs. The only options available are what are preset and most are med/high heat settings. I have a lot of office work attire and baby clothes that all need low settings and this is just not an option unless you choose quick dry, but then you lose the sensing option and you can only time dry.
Hey Jay. It sounds like your new dryer isn't offering the customization you're used to, and it's definitely challenging when you can't select the lower heat settings needed for delicate items like office wear and baby clothes. We understand how important it is to have precise control over your drying cycles. Many of our newer models, while having optimized preset cycles, can often be customized further. You might find additional cycle options or ways to fine-tune settings through the LG ThinQ app's download cycles. This could provide the flexibility you're looking for: https://www.lg.com/us/support/help-library/lg-thinq-how-to-use-download-cycles--20152746918577 To help explore more options, please send us a private message on social media @LGUSSupport with your dryer's model number and purchase date. Damp clothes constantly
It does have a big capacity, which is nice. We have had it for 6 months, and it has been very frustrating to get the clothes dry. I've tried every setting. The clothes are often slightly damp after every cycle, even with the heat and dryness setting all the way up. If I retry the cycle, it's sensors turn it off after a few minutes, even though the clothes are still slightly damp. The only way I can bypass this is by doing a "Quick Dry" cycle and turning the time up. The loads that aren't even very big are still coming out damp. I've checked and cleaned the vent hose and all filters, and there is no blockage. I've opened the door to the dryer and the door is covered in condensation still. Things should not still be so wet after drying at the highest setting for 1.5 hours. I've completely given up the hope of having a towel or blanket load dry fully in one go. I want hot, fluffy clothes, not cold, damp clothes. I don't have the time or energy to keep fighting with this thing.
Hey there! We understand your concerns about your clothes consistently coming out damp, and we appreciate the effort you've put into troubleshooting. The condensation and the need for timed cycles suggest the heating system or sensors may need a professional's attention. We want to help you get this resolved. Please send us a direct message to @LGUSSupport with your dryer's model/serial number and purchase date. We're committed to making sure your dryer is providing you with a great experience. ^ Diego
It's ok.
Unlike your mom, it doesn't do great with larger loads.
Hi Bravo, thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We understand you’re not seeing the larger‑load performance you expected from your LG 7.3 cu ft Ultra Large Capacity Electric Dryer with EasyLoad Door and AI Sensor Dry, model DLE8400WE. This dryer is designed to manage full loads, and a few quick checks can help improve consistency. Make sure the lint filter is fully clean before each cycle, confirm the vent duct has no restrictions, and try using AI Dry or Normal so the sensors can adjust time and temperature for the best results. Your product manual is available here if you’d like to review recommended loading and cycle guidelines: https://www.lg.com/us/support/product/lg-DLE8400WE.AEWEEUS?tab=1 If you need further assistance, feel free to email lgdigitalcare@lg.sprinklrsupport.com. Grinding noise
I purchased this dryer a few month back and recently started noticing a grinding noise while drying.
Hey Cab! We completely understand how frustrating it is when a new appliance starts making an unusual grinding sound. A grinding noise can often be caused by worn components like the drum support rollers, a damaged felt seal, or even a small object caught inside. TOTALLY AWESOME
I am very happy with both my LG washer and LG dryer! The clothes have never come out better in cleanliness and after dryer results--I've used most of the settings, from AI to specific and they've all been terrific--hopefully these will last me a lifetime--I'm VERY HAPPY with them!
Excellent dryer, so smart, easy to use, very quiet
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Have used dryer a couple of weeks & it's so smart, easy to use & quiet. The clothes are completely dry & not a wrinkled mess when done. The door can open side to side or from the top which is helpful when washing bid bulky items vs normal loads. Many options to choose from & shows time during each cycle. The one thing I'm not wild about is the top of the dryer is slanted, so stuff you put on top slides off.
Solid dryer but only opens left to right
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The dryer works well but never thought it would be such an ordeal to switch the door and would probably not buy again as it has been such a pain in the rear, lots of calls and still no switching of the door.

Not worth the money!
This gas dryer comes with the worst operator manual ever! The dryer comes with multiple settings that take more than one cycle to dry - the drying sensor is located in front so will shut off if it detects any semi-dry item. Repair person advised me not to use energy saver and use time dry only - could have gotten away with a much cheaper dryer if that was how I was going to use it! Disappointed!

Does a fine job and is Smarter than me
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased your washer almost a month ago. Easy to use (even if it is smarter than I), and does a very good job. I like the tune it plays at the end of the cycle: it is so much more pleasant than a sharp buzz.
Bad touch controls
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Really bad touch control panel. No one cautioned me about it and let me know there was a similar model with normal buttons. I have to push the start button 15 to 20 times to run the dryer. Called service who witnessed how many times I had to push the button. Said it was working as designed and told me about the other model. Too late for me to swap. I'm annoyed every time I use the dryer. The dryer door is great.
