I have used Turbotax since the beginning.

Overall easy to follow but there are still glitches mostly in relation to investment items in 1099-B uploaded from investment banks or companies and having to fill out the address of the recipient. In the Oklahoma state form, Turbotax should be al to furnish and now what companies are based in Oklahoma and to automatically exclude their income.

Not happy

Very unsatisfied with TurboTax 2025. I've been using TurboTax since at least 2012, and I felt like it was getting better for a while, but has now been getting worse for the last few years. This year it pulled in a corrupted version of my 2024 filing which I didn't catch until I was about to file and noticed that the last year's AGI that you're asked to verify for some reason, didn't make any sense. So I went into the forms and realized that the 2024 values in the two-year tax comparison form were all wrong. I tried to fix them there, but they seemed to show up in too many places throughout the many many forms included, so I had to give up and start a whole new filing. Very frustrating. There should be a way to delete and re-enter the last year's data without having to start all over again. I even had to re-purchase the state efiling which I had already done in the corrupted version of my filing, so I lost $20 to this issue. I'm also very disappointed that It's Deductible has been removed. That was one of my favorite features of the software. I'm definitely going to explore other options for next year. If I can't trust the software to import last year's data, and I'm not getting the functionality of It's Deductible, sticking with this product is not looking very attractive. Oh, and it's also annoying that auto fill doesn't work in the payment pop-ups.

User Experience Degrades Each Year

Logical flow of questions in "Walk-Me-Through" mode has become more obscure over the years. Will not permit e-filing if a flagged error exists— but it sometimes flags errors in calculated values, with no guidance on how to resolve the error. There is no "intelligence" to take the user to the actual user-entered input that resulted in the error. Even in "I'll Explore" mode, user is walked through questions that don't seem to be necessary.

Not that great

I used this Desktop version on a MacBook with OS 26.3.1. It frequently hung up, had "spinning circle of death..." causing me to restart the program. Generally wasn't easy to use. I've used TurboTax for years and this was the worst version to date. In the State version, it did not identify or calculate that I needed to pay for late estimated tax payments.

Clergy housing allowance nightmare

Have used TT for years. Horrible experience this 2025 year for clergy housing allowance! System would not let tax return be submitted with the input of correct figures. 5 attempts were made to submit after following the Community directions for this issue and, finally, after the 5th, the system let the return be submitted. Hopefully, everything worked out and my return was accepted at the proper facility. Hours were spent trying to find a solution to the problem. Unsatisfactory TT.

TurboTax is reliable and thorough

I have confidence in the accuracy of The product. Compatibility suffers by requiring Windows 11 to run on the desktop. Invest in other versions for people who don't have or want or afford Windows 11. Features and reporting are smooth and confidence building in an accurate returns.

Home & Business Falls a Bit Short on the Business

TurboTax 25 Home and Business is almost great, but carries over some annoying problems from 2024. I'll start with the IRA RMD issues. Apparently, everybody and their brother knows, except for TurboTax, that if one holds IRAs from multiple entities one DOESN'T have to take an RMD from each one. Rather, the entire RMD can be taken from one or any combination as long as the total RMD is satisfied. In my case I took all my RMD from one source, and when I entered my second source as a zero withdrawal TurboTax tried to charge me with a non-withdrawal penalty, even though I had satisfied my yearly RMD through my other withdrawal. Took some finagling, but I got around it. TurboTax needs to fix this issue, as it's ongoing. Another issue carried over fro 2024 is the self-employed health deduction. The easy-step simply won't let me enter it in the process and the edit button won't let me get to it in the review stage. Clicking the review button directs me to return to the business that is related to the deduction, yet there is no was to do that. I have to manually go to Schedule C and enter it there. Again, another ongoing problem that needs to be fixed. There are likely other such issues in the software, but none that affect my particular situation.

Good product but help feature is cumbersome

I am a knowledgeable user and find the product very useful. However, I have noticed that over the years, the help feature has become cumbersome and cluttered with efforts to sell more products than answer a simple question. I find that the answers to my questions can be found more quickly and easiily through AI applications.

One VERY persistent bug when you try to e-file

Pretty good all except for the e-filing process at the very end. TT has a known payment info bug (state info-wks) that still persists in 2025 (over five years). It refused to accept my bank routing and account info for state e-filing (refund) while it accepted the same info for federal filing (we owed money). Made an otherwise decent experience very onerous.
