getting old and still buggy

turboitax crashes and failsto startup reliabily in windows 11 environment. speciifcally it creates files during opening that begin with an invalid character per onedrive and other syncing systems. The interface on startup is the same as years ago and is just boring fails to provide the why it takes so long. checking is slow even with a 1g internet line. Had to reload again this year and the analysis and advise tab is unhelpful. I need to evaluate next years taxes and it does not allow to do planning. ie ss increases by 2.8%, interest will increase 5% what is the correct fed and state taxes owed. PS: i go back to the second year of turbo tax using it on a network before a network version existed. Made a good side hassle moving accountants to the platform.

What a pain!!!

Many good experiences over maybe 10 or more years using. However, Turbo Tax could NOT handle 1095A Insurance marketplace form and the subsequent Form 8962 because two persons (my son and his daughter) were insured. The daughter got married and was no longer a 2025 dependent. Information was complete and entered for both,; as well as a percentage of total fees divided amongst the two insureds. However, Turbo Tax could not reconcile the errors it projected (not existent) and we were required to file by mail. We had already paid the $25 Colorado e-filing fee. Please credit us this fee to use on my own return to be filed for 2025. Thank you!

"Try again" screen credit card failure

Unfortunately this 2025 year, the California State Tax Return couldn't be e-filed due to several unsupported forms, that could not be removed and then persist as removed (appeared back after deleting). This was on Windows 11. Customer support helped to identify the bug and/or unsupported feature problem. The symptom was choosing credit card payment kept failing with the "Try again" screen. Deleting the form didn't help. Had to mail the printed form instead.

Alpha/Sandbox Version sold as TurboTax 2025 Premie

Unfortunately, the 2025 version of TurboTax is extremely buggy. I have used Intuit for over 20 years and have never experienced so many issues and challenges with the software. I purchased the MAC desktop version because of special filing of community income, and it was a total disaster. I had to figure out how to work around the program to get the forms filled accurately. In addition, the download features were very delayed and buggy as well. I finally had to manually fill my forms from my financial institutions to ensure accuracy.

Multiple Glitches

Software froze after entering all my tax information, ended up having to completely re-enter/start over. Later, it kept creating separate digital copies of my return while I was preparing to e-file. Made sure I had a couple paper copies saved prior to filing to make sure I had documentation in case issues arose. Also, ended up having to pay an underpayment fee for 2024 federal Turbotax filing. Evidently, despite entering all the information correctly Turbotax made an error in calculating my 2024 tax return, for which I had to pay a fee.

A good tool, but it takes some time to use.

Overall process and use worked well, as usual. I found the import process results to be confusing as presented on the screen. I ultimately figured it out, but not before TurboTax counted some entries twice due to my misinterpretation of the dat and the instructions.

Don't like the interface changes. It costs a person time when the screens fundamentally change from year to year. Disappointed in the disfunction in the brokerage download. That used to work well and saved time in past years. Had to manually re-enter all of it.

Some short comings this year in the business ver

The IRA rollover section was confusing. It was difficult to determine what to answer for the source and for the destination as far as category. It was a rollover, yet in some of the summary tables it would show that as income, though not taxable. This is very misleading in that it was a rollover, not income. The import function is limited and in boxes 12 and 14 for W2's my codes are always different then yours and I am not sure that the program actually captures COLA, and codes it does not recognize. Overall the questions need improvements because I had to experiment with the answers and then look at how it reflected it on the actual tax form and calculations. You need more help links throughout because of the poorly phrased questions--maybe give an alternative phrasing in a help button to make sure interpretation is absolutely correct.

Turbotax business is a waste of money

This year, it's clear the changes to the business edition were a huge waste of time and money. It failed to take me through the process of finding deductions for my business and I had to search and dig just to get to some of the most basic. Last time we'll be using the software.

Lower quality than usual

Double clicking an existing 2025 return failed to load screen. Had to instead quit TurboTax, then launch just the app. Once app loaded, open file of tax return. Bad. Have an Arm/M1 based mac. Was forced to install Rosetta to get TurboTax running. This is NOT good. Rosetta does not "uninstall" and I was keeping this mac "clean" for work reasons. You guys lazy.
