I have used TurboTax for over 20 years and have always been happy with how it works ant its accuracy. Considering the complexity of completing one's tax returns (federal and state) having the TurboTax Interface guide you along is the best approach, short of paying an accountant to do your returns. The only disappointment was the removal of the Its Deductible software. I have not found a comparable substitute for it.

Could not upload documents here like we could on the regular website version. The program waited and provided a 1099 in my error check after I had already input all of the information. (the company did not provide me one directly). If this is an option why not provide it up front? Ended up doubling my income and had to be corrected.

My overall experience with Intuit has been less than great. Too many sales phone calls when I even asked last fall to not make sales calls to me. Then there are all the offers made (up selling) while preparing the return. And that is not saying anything about only being directed by search engines to only the internet version of Turbo Tax when what I wanted was a desktop version.

It was exasperating. Even such highly simple things such as entering my credit card information was impossible. My card expires in September, but I COULD NOT enter "09". How ridiculous is that? There were many, many more miserable experiences with the program. I am not happy with it.

many aggravations. 1) was told to buy non-resident state tax returns when total income was $320 in that state, way below reporting threshold. 45 minute wait for customer service on the phone to try to resolve. 2) my son has 529 and all of distribution goes to tuition and room and board, which should be tax free. but 1098-T does not report room and board, so difference beween 1098-T and 1099-Q was reported as unearned income and taxed at my rate. no prompt to enter allowed payments not included on 1098-T. big undeserved tax bill!

This is the Ryan Air experience of doing your taxes. It constantly is asking you to buy this or buy that extra thing. It isn't cheap and then it charges even more money to submit a return? What is this garbage? It already auto-renewed without me ever agreeing to that. I will not be using this again.

I've used TurboTax for over 20 years. It continues to provide what I need to get my taxes done with good confidence that they are correct and I haven't missed any deductions or ways to save money. There are always some pain points. Not being able to file for an extension from within the desktop product is EXTREMELY annoying, and inexcusable from a UX perspective. Providing some handholding when dealing with the complexities of Schedule K-1's would be a good improvement. I *will* use it again next year. :-)

the program has gotten less user friendly. Especially when it comes to importing investments. I import investments and it keeps telling me they need reviews. This is the 2nd year this has happened. I don't really think this feedback is even being read, but I will send it anyway.

I am disappointed in this year's updates and changes. The step by step interview is less straight forward and leaves out items like HSA contribution questions. The deletion of It's Deductible is unacceptable and was one of the reasons I used TurboTax. The business section is difficult to navigate and not as good as years past. I am not sure I will continue to use TurboTax.

New and improved? Actually harder to work. Had a problem with how to report a charitable deduction to a Donor Advised Trust. COULD NOT figure it out with TurboTax. Fortunately the holder of the Trust gave me the information I needed. This is a common donation. Shame on TurboTax for making this harder for me.
