TT handles most of the standard issues. I have some non standard issues with investments, LLC, and self employed health insurance. TT does not automatically review these. I understand what needs to be done so I can look for the forms that I need to maximize my tax deductions. Most people would not know what to look for and would miss deductions. I have raised this with TT for years but nothing has been done to correct the forms and process.

As usual, Turbotax is very thorough and good about guiding you through the tax filing process. This year is a little more quirky than in the past. For instance, whenever it checks for updates and installs any updates, it then offers to continue using Turbotax. It seems to restart the program, but instead it simply shuts down. Annoying, but then when restarted again, it does actually start.

I have been using TurboTax since the days of floppy discs as tax returns became increasingly complex and unmanageable if trying to complete on paper. Overall, with tax code also becoming increasingly complex, I've come to appreciate the accuracy of calculations that need to draw on prior year's data through the present. Interactive features have been appreciated for getting "just in time" help. The fact that TurboTax has also developed compatibility for importing data from many banks and brokerages has been a blessing as 1099 forms and reports become more detailed, and where hand-entry can result in errors. I much appreciate three key interface options TurboTax has for working on the forms and calculations that must be completed. Being able to see the actual forms is sometimes necessary to find and resolve problems and errors - and where I have most appreciated expert help. While the walk-through option comprehensively covers all areas, I prefer the option to choose where I want to go. The internal reporting option almost always captures errors that need correcting and where I sometimes need expert help. The "share screen" function worked flawlessly, to include suppressing personal data that did not need to be part of an expert discussion.

Excellent help from Brandy in Oklahoma who helped with payment glitch. Same trouble I had last year. Spent several hours having to upgrade my OS, downloading Chrome and restarting computer. Last year I had to mail my return even though I paid for efiling. Feel like I should qualify for refund.

The process to submit is ridiculous, with far more checks and approvals than seems necessary. Then after I hit submit finally, I get bombarded about every 1099 transaction, on whether it is a digital asset, and then looking for name and home addresses on every single transaction from my Chase account. That really sucks. What is up with that?

I engaged in an extended conversation with a representative who helped me get to the correct product. I purchased the Deluxe version and found it was not what I needed but could not return to the store since I had opened and used the license code so I purchased the Premier. Turbo Tax agent sent me a refund. Had to upgrade to Home and Business, and was discounted $10 for that.

It worked. I like the way it keeps the prior year's information and applies it to the new tax year's sections. I like the way it works with Quicken. Quicken needs to integrate better with Tax Planner. It's a pain to create workarounds for Tax Line items like IRA distributions so that one can see Total, Taxable, FWT and SWT distributions. It was difficult this year to use [CASH] as place to use double entry to place amounts into items on Tax Summary and Tax Schedule.

Was needlessly asking for a password I did not understand. Would not transfer data from the previous year. Steered me to online tax filing when I had paid to download the application. Took 20-30 minutes to find the download page. Getting started was stressful, buggy, and not easy.

Its missing a few critical forms. I had to mail my son's return because it couldn't include the forms he needed even though we bought Home & Business just to be prepared. It is better in appearance than last year, which made it easier to use, but there are a few too many scroll to the bottom of the page buttons when moving beween windows.

I have used this for years, still a little confused on what may be required each time needs to be a little more in "English", a definition no IRS talk. Overall like using. Also, I use Quickbooks, but find that the catagories I put items in to on Intuit Quick Books are not the same as IRS forms and I have to combine items.
